Chapter 119: I Won’t Lose to Illya Again
Iris had studied Naya’s body thoroughly, and while she didn’t understand the true nature of the system, she knew what it was capable of doing.
Six years ago, the energy released from Naya’s body had merged with her, completely transforming her. That’s why Naya became part of the dragon race. Because of that energy, Naya’s body had many special properties.
Using Naya’s blood along with the legendary dragon transformation method was virtually guaranteed to succeed, especially with an excellent vessel like Hipper.
Even if it failed, Hipper wouldn’t die – at worst she’d become half-human, half-dragon and suffer from dragon scale disease for a while.
But since there was only one Naya, taking too much blood wasn’t good for her health. Iris had kept this secret from Naya, as she didn’t want Naya to know she was being used.
Over time, including now, she’d secretly taken Naya’s blood for research many times. Of course, her love for Naya was genuine – otherwise she would have treated Naya as merely a tool long ago.
After painlessly extracting about a fingertip’s worth of blood, Iris held Naya’s hand, kissed the wound on her wrist, and licked the crimson taste with her tongue.
Finally, she used magic to store away that little bit of blood.
Lying back down, she positioned herself, so that only Illya was between her and Naya. Despite Illya’s head resting on Naya’s chest, Iris was still able to face Naia.
“Goodnight, Naya.”
May tomorrow, the day after, and every day after that, I remain to you the best Iris you know—the best partner—rather than a cunning Dragon Queen bent on grand plans for our race.
…
It was another early morning.
Naya stirred, gradually waking.
“Mmm…”
She pushed Illya off of her and noticed a feeling of fatigue.
It was as if she and Iris had been tangled up all night, yet the most intense thing they’d done was a kiss.
“Good morning, Iris.”
“Morning.”
Naya sat up, and Iris naturally got out of bed to clear space for her, careful not to disturb Illya’s sleep.
As soon as Naya’s feet touched the ground, Iris wrapped her arms around her waist and, after a kiss, leaned her forehead against Naya’s and spoke softly.
“I have a plan for today.”
“What plan?”
“I want to perform the Dragon Transformation Ritual on Hipper today.”
“But…”
Naya’s eyes flashed with worry.
“Isn’t there a big risk? Illya likes Hipper so much—if it fails, Illya will resent you.”
“I checked her body thoroughly yesterday. She’s no ordinary person, she only seems fragile because her blood is a mix of two races. Her parents cultivated her as an alchemical vessel from birth—she won’t die.”
“Alright, then let’s tell Illya once she wakes up.”
“Mmm.”
Together, they walked to the washroom to start their morning routine.
Once it was Illya’s wake-up time, Naya gently woke her and briefly relayed Iris’s plan.
“Mmm… can it really work?”
Illya looked at Iris with big, innocent eyes.
Iris smiled warmly.
“Of course. Don’t you trust your mother?”
“Yes! I trust you, Mother. I agree with the plan—the sooner Hipper becomes a dragon, the better!”
With that, all three of them were in agreement.
After breakfast, they set out to execute Iris’s plan.
The location was Flanna and Bella’s room.
Hipper sat nervously on a stool, watching as Iris mixed blood in front of her.
A small globule of blood emerged from Iris’s palm—it was Naya’s blood.
Then, Iris released her own royal blood and fused it with Naya’s.
Finally, an apple-sized orb of blood floated in mid-air.
Iris cast various colorful beams on it, seemingly making some modifications.
“Take off your clothes. I’m going to pump this blood directly into your heart.”
“Won’t that cause high blood pressure?” Naya complained at an inappropriate time.
Iris glanced back at Naia.
“You’re lecturing me on medicine here?”
“Haha…”
Naya laughed awkwardly.
Besides, this was a different world, and Hipper wasn’t an ordinary person, so scientific reasoning didn’t apply.
“What’s the hesitation, Hipper?”
“R-right!”
Hipper gripped the hem of her skirt, took a deep breath, and removed it in front of Iris. She had started to develop a bit, enough to feel a basic sense of shame.
She wore pink and white children’s undergarments, while Naya’s Illya, on the other hand, didn’t wear anything, making undergarments unnecessary.
Iris focused on Hipper’s chest. Then the floating orb of blood transformed into a thin line, piercing Hipper’s fair skin and seeping into her heart.
Unlike on Earth, where transfusions are slow, with Iris’s assistance, the apple-sized blood orb fully integrated into Hipper’s body in under a minute.
Then, as her heart pumped the blood throughout her body, it began reacting with Hipper’s own mixed blood.
“Argh!!!”
Hipper collapsed to her knees, clutching her chest in agony.
“Hipper!”
Illya jumped in surprise, wanting to help Hipper, but Iris held her back with an upraised hand.
“Let her adapt on her own, don’t interfere.”
Hipper’s entire body was wracked with pain, and she began rolling on the floor.
The dragon blood was gradually burning away her original blood, and soon dragon scales began appearing on her body. Her previously fair, smooth skin started to form rough, scaly patterns.
Piece by piece, they solidified into dragon scales.
A silver tail suddenly grew from Hipper’s spine, and horns began to sprout from the top of her head.
But the transformations didn’t stop there. Long, sharp fangs extended from her mouth, and her shoulder blades seemed poised to break through her skin.
“Ahhh!!!”
The little silver-haired girl opened her mouth, screaming in pain.
Her blood-red eyes shone within her eye sockets, revealing frightening fangs.
She scrambled to her feet as a pair of black wings erupted from her back, and she lunged swiftly toward Iris.
But Iris caught her by the neck with one hand and pressed her to the ground.
“Mother…”
Illya took a deep breath.
Hipper now displayed characteristics of both dragon and vampire bloodline, her cheek pressed to the floor as she gasped for breath.
“She’s temporarily lost her senses, but don’t worry. Once she sleeps, she’ll be fine.”
Iris lifted Hipper’s head and then slammed it back down onto the floor.
Illya couldn’t help but flinch at the sight.
“Mother, what…is Hipper alright?”
“She’s fine. She’s still alive. Hmph, humans truly are foolish. They don’t even know how to use such a perfect vessel and treat her like an abandoned child.”
With magic flowing from her palm to analyze Hipper’s physical state, Iris clearly understood the changes within her.
In one word: perfection.
No one embodied the word “perfect” better than Hipper.
The harmony of the three fused blood types exceeded Iris’s expectations.
Once Hipper had completely lost consciousness, the foreign characteristics started to retract. Her dragon tail, horns, scales, blood clan fangs, and wings all disappeared.
Illya finally relaxed.
“Thank goodness, it really worked. Mother, you’re amazing!”
Iris smirked.
“Well, your mother is a top-tier alchemist. Otherwise…”
Otherwise, you wouldn’t even be here in this world.
Illya’s birth was the result of Iris extracting Naya’s cells and her own, merging them, and creating a dragon egg through alchemy six years ago.
“Otherwise?”
Iris glanced at Naya.
“Otherwise, how would your Mama and I have been able to bring you into the world? Childbirth is part of alchemy too.”
“Iris!”
Naya flushed and gave Iris a playful glare.
Illya looked at Naya with a confused look.
“Illya, don’t learn from your mother. If you ever meet a girl you like, don’t be like her. Telling dirty jokes all the time.”
“Oh…”
But she remained curious.
Just what was this mysterious alchemy?
Beyond magic, there existed the equally mysterious realm of alchemy.
Named for its ability to turn base metals to gold, alchemy was later discovered to alter the essence of matter. Turning “stone” into “gold” was a transformation of its fundamental properties, sparking fascination and leading to the study of it as a dedicated field.
Each species had its own form of alchemy.
“Alright, Bella, help the princess get dressed and move her to the bed.”
“Yes, Your Majesty.”
Iris released her grip on Hipper’s neck, and Bella knelt down, picked Hipper up, helped her back into her dress, and placed her on the bed.
“Illya, it’s time to go back.”
Iris stood up and ruffled Illya’s hair.
“No, I want to wait here until Hipper wakes up.”
Seeing her daughter so concerned about Hipper, Iris couldn’t help but chuckle.
“You like her that much?”
“I do!”
Illya looked up, her eyes sparkling.
“Because Hipper has beautiful silver hair, just like Mama! So I really like her!”
As soon as Illya said that, Iris’s smile froze.
“Well, then you stay here and keep watch over Hipper.”
“Thank you, Mother!”
Illya, unaware of her blunder, happily ran to Hipper’s bedside and held her small, cold hand.
“Hipper, you have to stay strong! I’m right here waiting for you. When you wake up, you’ll be a dragon! Then we can eat and eat, travel and travel—make such an impact that it feels like a whole new world!”
She held Hipper’s hand to her chin, warming Hipper’s palm.
Illya began to dream of the future she would share with Hipper.
Dreaming of a fairy tale where the dragon and princess lived happily ever after.
“Let’s go, Naya, we’ll head back.”
Taking Naya’s hand.
Back in the neighboring room, as soon as they entered, Iris pressed Naya against the door, frowning, a hint of irritation simmering in her red eyes.
“Just look at your daughter—she even takes you as her model for choosing a partner.”
Naya’s mouth twitched.
“Well…isn’t that a good thing?”
As long as she didn’t say anything as outrageous as wanting to have a child with her Mama, Naya figured it wasn’t a big problem.
“This shows that she still hasn’t changed her mind—she wants to see you as a partner, not a mother.”
“No way! You’re overthinking it. Don’t get carried away—I think Illya’s behavior is totally normal. If she’d been closer to you when she was younger, she’d take you as her model. In her eyes, Mama is the most beautiful and wonderful person in the world, so it’s not strange at all if she uses me as her standard.”
“…”
“You’re such a jealous type!”
Seeing Iris still hadn’t calmed down, Naya leaned in and kissed Iris on the nose.
“Getting jealous of your own daughter—no wonder you two don’t act like mother and daughter… ah!”
Suddenly he was picked up by Iris again.
“What are you doing?”
“Taking advantage of our daughter being in the other room…”
“Put me down!”
Naia slapped Iris’s shoulder. Just yesterday, she had changed her impression of Iris, thinking Iris wasn’t someone who only thought about certain things all day and that she had the ambitions of a conqueror.
“I’m jealous, so I need a little extra something to balance it out.”
“No…”
What? No?
Woman, this is the consequence of teasing me yesterday.
She placed Iris on the bed.
Since Iris had drawn a bit of Naya’s blood last night, it was only right to replenish her.
Naturally.
The blood restoration therapy would also soothe Naya’s mood, easing the restless spirit within her.
But most importantly, it planted a seed…
Naia leaned against the pillow, pressing her flushed cheeks with her hands, biting her lip to stifle any sound.
[Host.]
[!!! You startled me, suddenly talking!]
“Hiss, Naya…”
Because of Naya’s nervousness, Iris under the bed also suffered.
[You…]
[Don’t say it, don’t say it—just let her have her way this once. I’ll take charge tomorrow, the day after, the day after that. I’ll definitely take charge someday.]
What the system wanted to say wasn’t that.
It was that it could sense something strange, Iris was channeling a different type of energy into the souls of those two little ones.
The system found it really strange.
It wanted to tell Naya but feared being scolded.
After all, what sinister intentions could Iris possibly have?
Plus, Naya was in high spirits right now, interrupting her suddenly wouldn’t be ideal.
————————
“Quick, go summon the High Priest!!!”
After searching for a day and night without finding the princess, the king was nearly at his breaking point.
He stood before the throne, roaring at the soldier who had come to report to him.
“Yes, Your Majesty!”
The soldier immediately got up and left the grand hall.
The elderly king let out a long sigh.
He sat on the throne, looking weary.
“Chancellor, what should we do? What should we do!”
The king held his forehead, overwhelmed with grief.

The chancellor, standing beside him, bowed slightly.
“Your Majesty, don’t worry. The dragons must still be in this city. The entire city is on high alert, with the gates completely sealed. The dragons have nowhere to escape. We just need to wait for the High Priest to arrive, with your and the princess’s blood ties, we will surely find her.”
“Sigh… sigh!”
The king was worried about Hipper’s safety, and even more worried that Hipper would leak her alchemical secrets to the dragons.
“Hipper…”
Recalling the time spent with Hipper’s mother, the king suddenly found tears welling up in his eyes.
“I didn’t expect that your mother was a liar!”
Back in the day, the king and Hipper’s witch mother hit it off at first sight, and the king admired the witch’s powerful alchemy.
The witch had made a promise, saying she would create the strongest super warrior for humanity through her alchemy.
Thus, the king married the witch, and they had a daughter together.
But when Hipper was 1 year old, the witch told him that the experiment had failed.
Hipper was a failure, facing the risk of completely turning into a vampire.
By the time Hipper was 3 years old, the king, seeing Hipper’s frail body, confirmed the witch’s words.
This meant that the plan, which had cost thousands of innocent lives, had come to a tragic end.
The witch’s experiment required a massive number of test subjects, a large quantity of lab rats. Whatever the witch desired, the king would provide, even if it meant slaughtering an entire city for her, he was willing to do so.
Thus, Hipper was born in such a situation.
What they needed was a human, not a vampire.
After the plan fell through, the king, filled with anger and humiliation, executed the witch.
“If you knew this past, you would understand why you have to be imprisoned.”
The king didn’t kill Hipper, the last piece of evidence, out of respect for the witch’s last plea and their blood relationship.
He didn’t visit Hipper because he felt he couldn’t face her. If he could, he would hope Hipper could have a normal princess’s life.
But with Hipper’s physical condition, she was destined to remain locked in a cage, isolated from the outside world.
“What about the paladins?”
“Your Majesty, the paladins are also actively cooperating in the investigation.”
“The paladins? They’ve already lost to the dragons once in Rex City. Even if they find those dragons this time, do they really have the confidence to defeat them?”
The king felt immense resentment toward the paladin mother and daughter.
If it hadn’t been for their unexpected visit, Hipper wouldn’t have been curious about what the Cassimir knight looked like, and wouldn’t have seen hope in escaping through the knight.
She wouldn’t have sneaked out with Semira, and wouldn’t have encountered the dragons, leading to all this trouble.
His Hipper was still a canary that couldn’t escape from her cage.
“But the troubles they’ve caused have given them a reason to fight for their dignity, they owe us a favor, and from now on, the Goss Empire will no longer oppress us.”
“Sigh… I hope so.”
Somewhere in the palace.
Due to Semira’s unauthorized escape with the princess, which led to the princess being taken by the dragons, Semira was locked away.
She leaned against the wall of the confinement room, the food placed beside her long gone cold, yet Semira hadn’t touched it.
She looked down at the sunflower hairpin in her hand.
Raising her head, she let out a long sigh.
“Illya, why did you have to take the princess? Clearly, when we first met, you wouldn’t even acknowledge me. Why are you so interested in the princess?”
Semira clenched her fist, the hard sunflower petals leaving an imprint on her palm.
“If I had been braver back then, taken the princess and escaped far from the palace, perhaps she wouldn’t have been taken away by Illya.”
Semira sat on her knees, hugging her legs, talking to herself.
“Yes, if I had been braver, Mother wouldn’t have exhausted herself in the cycle of despair. If I had been braver and awakened my domain sooner, maybe the holy sword wouldn’t have fallen into the hands of the dragon race.”
[Host, the holy sword didn’t fall into the hands of the dragons. Instead, it was consumed by that silver dragon, transformed into energy, leaving nothing behind.]
[Nothing left?[
[Yes, this situation is much better than that silver dragon possessing the holy sword. None of us have a world-class holy artifact, so we’re still on the same starting line. We still have a chance to defeat them.]
[Hmm!]
Encouraged by the system, Semira clenched her fist, looking at the sunflower in her palm. Her heart ignited with fierce determination.
“Next time, I won’t lose to you, Illya.”
