Chapter 483
by 林方方Chapter 483 Please Let Him Go!
To enhance the viewing experience, the Huamei Hotel had specially placed about a dozen piranhas in this luxurious private room. If they kept their mouths shut, they actually looked quite cute, but once they bared those rows of densely packed sharp teeth, it sent chills down your spine!
Qi Zhanji, stripped of his clothes, had no idea just how terrifying the killing power of these small fish — barely the size of a palm — actually was. He was too busy struggling in humiliation, when he suddenly felt a bone-piercing pain shoot through his arm!
“Ah!”
He instinctively flung his arm, only to find blood gushing out from it in an instant!
The small fish had a tiny chunk of flesh clamped in its mouth! The wound on his arm was deep enough to expose bone!
Although the fish tank was wide, it wasn’t very deep. Qi Zhanji could only crouch inside in misery, pressing his face against the top of the tank to keep breathing. When he turned his head and saw the rows of sharp teeth in that small fish’s mouth, a shudder from the depths of his soul erupted instantly, his entire body engulfed in boundless terror!
Qi Zhanji clawed and kicked with hands and feet, his face a mask of panic, desperate to escape the fish tank — but Su Rui had already locked the top cover from the outside. How could he possibly get out?
“Let me out, let me out, let me out! These are piranhas! These are piranhas!”
Qi Zhanji thrashed frantically in the water, screaming like a madman, but through the thick tempered glass, not a single sound reached the outside!
Tang Ni Landor could barely bring herself to watch. In all her time, she had only ever seen scenes like this in horror movies, but now a living person was surrounded by a dozen piranhas right before her eyes — and it carried a far more powerful visual impact than any film!
The first bite drew blood that turned a large patch of the water red. That scent of blood greatly stimulated the other piranhas, and the little creatures swarmed in together, launching a frenzied attack on Qi Zhanji!
In truth, piranhas are quite timid by nature. The reason they attack in groups is simply to reinforce their own sense of security — a reason that, while utterly absurd, was undeniably agonizing for Qi Zhanji!
He thrashed wildly in the water, and several piranhas had already closed in on him, only to be accidentally knocked away by his flailing!
Qi Zhanji had not a stitch of clothing on, completely exposed from head to toe! He had not the slightest sense of security, one hand shielding his vitals, the other swinging frantically!
And this very motion only provoked the piranhas further. One fish opened its mouth and clamped down hard on Qi Zhanji’s little finger!
Another wave of searing pain hit him. No matter how hard Qi Zhanji shook his hand, the fish’s sharp teeth remained buried deep in his finger — it simply wouldn’t come off!
He had no choice but to free his other hand, grab the fish’s body, and yank hard!
Rip!
That single motion nearly made Qi Zhanji pass out from the pain!
His entire little finger was torn off by the piranha, ripped clean away — the whole scene was too gruesome to bear!
“Ah!”
Qi Zhanji screamed in agony, and swallowed several mouthfuls of water in the process!
At the same time, several more fish attacked his chest and back!
Blood was already spreading through the water!
It wouldn’t be long before the enormous tank was stained red with Qi Zhanji’s blood.
He never imagined that all he had wanted was to chase a girl — and yet he was paying such a devastating price!
Faced with this bloody scene, Su Rui’s gaze was ice-cold, not even his eyelids flickering!
Hathaway couldn’t bear to watch either. She stood to Su Rui’s side and said softly, “He’s already suffered the punishment he deserves. Why not just let it go at this point?”
Even without knowing the full story of the man before her, Hathaway understood that in any country, torturing someone to death like this would not end well — after all, this was a living human life!
“He had it coming.” Su Rui stood with his hands clasped behind his back, eyes narrowed as he watched the struggling figure in the tank, and said calmly.
Just then, the door to the private room was suddenly pushed open, and Su Zhiyan, dressed in a short formal gown, appeared behind Su Rui!
It was a low-cut mini dress. While the neckline didn’t reveal much, it was deliberately designed in a bandage style that made the curves all the more breathtaking. The dress hugged Su Zhiyan’s figure perfectly, wrapping tightly around her flat stomach and hips. No one knew how this woman took care of her body — an ounce more and she’d be too full, an ounce less and she’d be too thin. The word “perfect” truly did not do her figure justice!
“You got here faster than I expected.”
Su Rui smiled. It was clear that Su Zhiyan had rushed over the moment she received the call, without even having time to change.
But that faint smile of his filled Su Zhiyan with an inexplicable sense of dread!
“Which cousin of mine did you have a problem with?” Su Zhiyan asked uneasily.
The soundproofing of the fish tank was so effective that she hadn’t heard a single one of Qi Zhanji’s frantic screams. And since her eyes had been fixed entirely on Su Rui, Su Zhiyan had no idea what a bloody and brutal scene was unfolding just a few meters away!
“I believe his name is Qi Zhanji.” Su Rui said unhurriedly, “I need to correct something in what you said — he didn’t offend me. He offended two friends of mine.”
Su Rui raised a hand and pointed. Su Zhiyan followed his gesture, and her gaze froze: “Landor? Hathaway?”
As a top stylist in China’s fashion world, Su Zhiyan naturally knew who Tang Ni Landor and her agent Hathaway were!
“Now do you understand what I mean?”
Su Rui continued in his unhurried tone, paying no mind to how much flesh had already been torn from Qi Zhanji behind him!
The moment Su Zhiyan saw the two stunning foreign beauties standing before her, she had a pretty good idea of what had happened!
Qi Zhanji was the youngest son of Fourth Aunt. His reputation had never been good — spoiled rotten from childhood, notoriously dissolute. He had clearly set his sights on Tang Ni Landor and Hathaway, attempted something improper, and not only failed, but ended up being turned on by Su Rui!
“He brought it on himself!”
Those four words flashed through Su Zhiyan’s mind in an instant!
She had once heard that Qi Zhanji had gotten a female college student pregnant. When the girl came crying to the Qi family’s door in distress, Qi Zhanji had sent people to beat her severely. The girl was left critically injured and unconscious, and the unborn child was lost on the spot!
In good conscience, Su Zhiyan absolutely could not condone what Qi Zhanji had done. On the contrary, as a woman, she found it deeply repulsive!
But people exist within the broader social environment and the smaller family environment, and those relationships are so tangled and complex that you can never freely express what you truly think.
Given her particular position, Su Zhiyan’s personal views could not represent her stance!
Even if she disliked Qi Zhanji, she still had to help him!
Su Zhiyan was Su Wuxian’s adopted daughter, and Qi Zhanji’s older cousin. No matter what, this cousin of hers could not come to harm!
Otherwise, knowing Fourth Aunt’s doting nature, she would go after Su Rui with a vengeance!
“If what you’re saying is true, then this was indeed his fault.” Su Zhiyan took a deep breath and said.
She didn’t know why, but Su Rui’s composure made her feel increasingly uneasy.
She was one of the very few people who knew Su Rui’s background, and naturally she had no desire to see Su Rui and Qi Zhanji come to blows. If something happened to the latter this time, and the Su family fell into internal strife, then the door to Su Rui’s return to the family would be shut for good!
What?
Return to the family?
“Since he acted wrongly, he needs to face punishment — do you think that’s a reasonable thing to say?” Su Rui narrowed his eyes, the corners of his mouth curling slightly. That cold smile made Su Zhiyan feel that something was very wrong.
Su Zhiyan didn’t answer Su Rui’s question directly. Instead she said, “I hope you’ll show some mercy.”
“I already showed mercy.” Su Rui shook his head. “He’s not dead.”
Hearing those words, Su Zhiyan let out a long breath, and the weight on her heart lifted!
As long as the person was alive, everything could still be worked out! Good thing this Su Rui hadn’t gone as wild as he had five years ago — otherwise the consequences would have been truly unimaginable!
But then Su Rui followed up with another blow, and the heart Su Zhiyan had just set down leapt right back up!
“He’s not dead yet — though he’s probably close by now.”
“Where is he? What did you do to him?” Su Zhiyan asked urgently. She had already begun to pray — pray that Su Rui hadn’t done something reckless!
“Right there.”
Su Rui stepped aside, clearing Su Zhiyan’s line of sight!
And so Su Zhiyan witnessed the most terrifying scene she had ever seen in her life!
Qi Zhanji was thrashing continuously in the water, and every thrash sent a spray of blood blooming outward!
Those dozen or so creatures resembling pomfret were attacking him in a frenzy, their sharp teeth sending chills down the spine!
Qi Zhanji kept pounding against the walls of the tank, but to no effect whatsoever! His body was covered in countless wounds by now, and the enormous tank of water had already turned murky with his blood!
“Get him out of there now — someone is actually going to die if this keeps up!”
Su Zhiyan fought back the dizziness and nausea, ran to the side of the fish tank, but couldn’t open the locked top cover no matter what she tried!
“Su Rui, I’m begging you, I’m begging you — please, please don’t let him die!”
Su Zhiyan realized she had no way of opening the tank on her own. She ran back to Su Rui, grabbed his shoulders, her face full of desperate pleading!
“It seems this cousin of yours really does care about her little cousin.” Su Rui’s eyes shifted slightly. He seemed to have picked up on something off about Su Zhiyan’s frantic pleading.
Word had it that Su Zhiyan had inherited Su Wuxian’s true teachings — not only sharp and learned, but so composed she wouldn’t flinch even if a mountain collapsed before her. This loss of composure was truly a rare sight!
“Su Rui, no matter what, he cannot die!” Su Zhiyan said again. “Trust me, you have to trust what I’m saying! He really cannot have anything happen to him! Especially not at your hands!”
Listening to Su Zhiyan’s words, which seemed to carry a deeper meaning, watching the urgency in her eyes, a strange feeling rose in Su Rui’s heart… He didn’t know if it was just his imagination, but in that moment Su Rui felt as though Su Zhiyan wasn’t simply concerned about Qi Zhanji on the surface — rather, every word she said seemed to be thinking on his, Su Rui’s, behalf!
“When you go back, tell your aunt to keep this good-for-nothing in line. Don’t let him come out and prey on women again — otherwise, I’ll come to the Su family myself and take his life!”
Su Rui said coldly, then grabbed the back of a chair. With a flick of his wrist, the heavy solid-wood chair flew out and slammed hard against the tempered glass on the surface of the fish tank!
