    Chapter 560: The Bear-Headed Fellow

    "I’m hungry—!"

    "Roar—!"

The massive, stout giant beast bellowed and charged toward the "Giant Spirit God."

While the earlier "Belial" appeared somewhat endearing with its ears despite having a thick neck and stubby legs, this former "oaf" had now transformed into a colossal, shaggy brute—oversized head, bull-like neck, and a hulking torso.

Any feline resemblance vanished with its roar, replaced entirely by bear-like ferocity.

    "Thud… Thud… Thud…"

Its heavy paws hammered the earth, sending tremors through the ground as it barreled toward the congested riverbank.

The "Giant Spirit Gods" wreaking havoc there immediately noticed the hostile newcomer.

    Yet they showed no fear.

    "Fool!"

    The Giant Spirit God sneered.

"Look at this chaos! You think you can break through?!"

"Go amuse yourself with those Infernal Mad Gods first."

    Their taunts held truth.

    The riverbank descended into bedlam.

Fallen demon gods, Infernal Mad Gods, and Giant Spirit Gods clashed in a three-way melee; even Infernal Mad Gods tore into their own kin, rabidly mauling everything nearby.

Most combatants remained near the riverbank’s outskirts.

Only the long-limbed, numerous Giant Spirit Gods had penetrated the core.

Meanwhile, fallen demon gods clung fiercely to the river’s edge.

    They battled with unyielding grit.

Though battered by assaults from both Infernal Mad Gods and Giant Spirit Gods—their ranks thinning, defenses crumbling—they held the shoreline. Rallying, they pinned hordes of Infernal Mad Gods against the riverbank.

Their stubborn valor, however, infuriated the lazy Trilobite, who pounded his chest in rage.

    "Blocking them?! Are you mad?!"

    "Just let them through!"

"Now I’ll have to swim across!"

Ignoring Trilobite’s whining after getting what he wanted, Belial’s charge toward the Giant Spirit Gods meant plowing through the Infernal Mad Gods first.

    "Boom—!"

    "Boom—!"

The Primordial Earth quaked beneath Belial’s shifting divine form, its tremors rippling through every nearby deity.

    "Ha—!"

    "Hiss—!"

The terrifying Infernal Mad Gods stopped fighting amongst themselves.

They had no other enemies to battle, so they turned to attack each other.

Now, a target appeared before them.

These mad, raging beings awkwardly twisted their Divine Bodies and shifted direction; their huge mouths opened wide, and their sword-like fangs shone coldly.

    "Yes…"

The ugly and bizarre Giant Pan-Spirit Deities snorted.

"Let’s cut them to pieces like this… What!?"

But what the Giant Pan-Spirit Deities expected did not happen.

Instead, on the riverbank’s edge, a horrifying scene unfolded.

Suddenly, the Infernal Mad Gods, who had been wildly battling and attacking everything around, stopped being mad.

Or rather, their madness changed direction.

    Panicked, confused roars echoed around.

They felt lost, and the fallen demon gods, nearly collapsing, felt the same.

    "Ah—!"

A fallen demon god, already grabbed by an Infernal Mad God at the throat, opened its eyes in confusion; it felt the deadly pressure from the mad god vanish.

Void Energy seeped back into its divine lungs, and a refreshing rebirth feeling bloomed in its Soul like fireworks.

It stared blankly at the Infernal Mad God that had clutched its throat, about to "kiss" it with saber teeth.

This fierce being abandoned its near kill and, in panic, turned away, awkwardly flailing its short limbs, desperately fleeing beyond the riverbank.

The other Infernal Mad Gods did the same.

They seemed to suddenly lose their battle spirit and will to resist.

    "Ga—!"

    "Ah ga—!"

Sharp, scared cries rang out nonstop.

The packed Divine Bodies burst apart, and soon, the riverbank was less crowded.

    "Thud… Thud… Thud…"

The vibrations of the Primordial Earth continued, but the frequency slowed a bit.

    Belial started to slow down.

But its slowing wasn’t due to the Infernal Mad Gods; it just didn’t want to trip.

Soon, this deity, low-ranked in the Chaos Council but incredibly powerful, moved like a bear leaping over rocks.

    "Roar—!"

With a roar that shook heaven and earth, Belial charged in!

Its massive palm lifted, and without pause, it slammed down hard on the Giant Pan-Spirit Deity’s forehead!

    "Um…"

"It looked like the body I made for the customer was really great."

Trilobite said while splashing through the "river water," checking out his work.

"Anyway, this bear’s power was truly awesome!"

He made simple changes for the "new customer"—thickening, growing larger, standing on all fours, and boosting bite force.

In short, he changed the customer’s body to be "bigger" and "better."

"But in the end, you looked like this…"

    "It should be…"

    "Megawhatisapatrichae."

"But it needed to be a bit bigger."

It wasn’t that Trilobite wanted to show off his English or that using all letters seemed cool; it’s just that this creature had no Chinese name.

Fossils of this animal came from eastern Russia…

Trilobite had also complained how, for some reason, animals found in Russia often lacked Chinese names.

This made him worry and scratch his head, forcing him to think up a name.

    "Um, seeing your bear-like look…"

    "I’ll call you ‘Bear-like Beast’!"

The Bear-like Beast is part of the Therapsida, and not many fossils have been found; only one upper jaw piece was dug up, with other scraps possibly not in any paper.

Their rough shape was pieced together and enlarged from other Therapsida.

    But that wasn’t reliable.

It was like taking a tiger bone and blowing it up to match a wolf’s look.

Still, most features could be guessed.

For example, they had a huge size, at least as big as modern tigers or average brown bears; they had strong fangs, making them a scary predatory animal.

Like big modern predatory mammals, the Bear-like Beast kept great size while having good agility, letting it run fast.

In the Permian period, the Bear-like Beast was surely a nightmare for things like the Saw-toothed Lizard and the Two-tooth Beast!

It was definitely the top hunter in its area.

Plus, the creature Trilobite made was even bigger!

Its size was almost like the Short-faced Bear!

That size even gave Trilobite a bit of danger.

Unlike the Beautiful Nodosaurus, which was full of air sacs to get big; the weight of archosaurs was solid.

While the Bear-like Beast might not seem bigger than the Beautiful Nodosaurus, its weight was just as much!

No matter what, Trilobite had to hurry.

If he was slower, the meat of the Forduroid Beast might not be his.

    But right then…
