Chapter 714: The Fall of Four Demons

Hearing Fang Lie’s words, Huangxu and the others froze. Huangxu asked in surprise, "Aren’t you coming with us?"

"Hmm, I have other plans!" Fang Lie replied with a grin.

Truthfully, he still distrusted these scoundrels. He couldn’t hide his true body and leave a clone outside like before. With them watching, he’d have to exit with his real form. If they betrayed him and the Celestial Platform’s puppets attacked, it’d spell major trouble.

Even losing a clone terrified Fang Lie. When he first entered, his clone’s death had violently shaken his real body, nearly destroying it.

Luckily, the old bird had warned him while creating the blood clones: no Soul Fragments could be used, lest they strengthen the Cause-and-Effect Line. Powerful beings could trace such links to strike his true self.

Fang Lie had obeyed, crafting hollow blood clones—lifeless husks without his divine sense. Only when he controlled them could they fight.

These clones had weak combat strength but minimized causal ties to his main body.

Yet when the Celestial Platform’s Immortal Seal activated, it still attacked his true form through the faint Cause-and-Effect Line. Only its weakness saved him.

After such a harsh lesson, why would he risk the Celestial Platform again? Never.

Huangxu frowned. "This place is sealed. Without us masking you, the puppets will detect you!"

"Relax!" Fang Lie waved. "I’ll manage."

    Helpless, the demons left, bewildered.

Soon, the four exited the Dragon Tomb onto the Celestial Platform.

They descended cautiously, glancing back—Fang Lie wasn’t following.

"Strange," muttered Huangxu. "Does he truly have another exit?"

"Impossible!" Huangchun scoffed. "The Tomb’s space is unbreakable without Tenth-Rank power. Unless… he hid his body in a treasure and slipped it to us!"

"Trying that old trick?" Huangxu’s eyes gleamed. "Search everything!"

"Yes!" Huangchun grinned. "His treasures and dragon corpses could make our Huangyu Tribe supreme!"

For half an hour, they Inspected each other, even smashing suspicious items—but found nothing.

Baffled, the demons finally left the platform.

"We’ve time before teleportation," said Huangxu. "Let’s scavenge nearby."

"Good!" Huangchun agreed. "No one dares approach the Dragon Tomb—riches await!"

They flew two hours to a ruined complex. Though battle-toppled, many structures remained intact.

"The guardians’ barracks," said Huangxu. "Maintained by Great Demons, like our ancestors!"

"Perfect!" Huangchun rubbed his hands. "Let’s use ancestral secrets to—"

A voice thundered, freezing their blood:

    "Die, demons!"

With the voice came a terrifying Sword Energy. Though only ten meters long, its sharpness could seemingly sever all existence in the world!

The Sword Energy flashed briefly, decapitating four demons instantly. Huangxu’s face still wore a smile while Huangchun managed to gasp "Semi-Immortal Sword Energy!" before death.

Four headless Huangyu corpses, each stretching hundreds of meters, materialized in midair.

Four figures emerged immediately – Ao Jianzi of East Kunlun, Daoist Tuguan from West Kunlun, Ximen Changkong of the Ximen family clan, and Master Jie Yun from Great Thunder Sound Temple.

They laughed heartily at the corpses. "Hahaha~"

Ximen Changkong raised his thumb. "Truly worthy of being the Sword God, the world’s supreme! Though wasting his Sword Energy on these scoundrels seems excessive."

"Overkill indeed," Ao Jianzi agreed. "We could’ve slain them without using ancestral sword talismans. But their treasures might’ve been damaged in battle."

"Enough chatter," Ximen Changkong interrupted. "Let’s search the bodies before they cool."

The group watched as Ao Jianzi selected the first corpse. Mutual suspicion hung thickly – none wanted treasures pilfered before inspection.

Ao Jianzi retrieved the demon’s storage treasure, broke its seals, and frowned at the meager contents. After circulating the items among the group, he dismembered the Huangyu with precise Sword Energy strokes. Only when all confirmed nothing remained did he store the remains.

"Clearly Fang Lie’s treasures aren’t here," Ao Jianzi declared.

"Then they must be with another Ninth-Rank Great Demon," Tuguan said, moving to the next corpse.

By prior agreement, Ao Jianzi claimed first pick for providing the Semi-Immortal’s sword talisman. Tuguan followed for arranging the surveillance Formation that trapped the demons. The remaining two Spoils of War went to Ximen Changkong and Master Jie Yun.

None cared about fish flesh – Fang Lie’s legendary treasures were the true prize. Their pact allowed free demon corpse claims but mandated bidding wars for Fang Lie’s artifacts.

Tuguan replicated Ao Jianzi’s thorough search ritual on his Ninth-Rank fish demon. Disappointment followed – only the demon’s pathetic hoard filled its Space Treasure.

Unease thickened as Ximen Changkong and Master Jie Yun dissected their demons with identical results.

Ao Jianzi’s face darkened. "Has Fang Lie cheated death?"

"Impossible!" Tuguan retorted. "We witnessed the Immortal Seal’s causality strike obliterate him at the Dragon Tomb’s entrance! Not even Semi-Immortal Ancestors could survive that!"

Ximen Changkong’s eyes narrowed. "Yet we all saw Fang Lie entrust his storage treasure to a Huangyu demon before dying. Would he abandon treasures in the Dragon Tomb?"

"Amitābha." Master Jie Yun’s chant carried accusation. "Demons aren’t fools. If Fang Lie’s treasures aren’t here…" His gaze shifted between Ao Jianzi and Tuguan.

"YOU DARE SUSPECT ME?" Ao Jianzi roared.

The monk remained calm. "Merely observing that corpse handlers have… opportunities."

"Well said!" Ximen Changkong chimed in.

Ao Jianzi’s Sword Energy flickered dangerously. "I swear by my Dao heart – no hidden treasures!"

Suspicious eyes turned to Tuguan, who sighed. "I too swear by my Dao heart."

"Oaths can be broken," Master Jie Yun countered.

Ximen Changkong smirked. "Wouldn’t you risk Dao heart damage for the Netherworld Ghost Fire warship?"

"ENOUGH!" Ao Jianzi’s Sword Energy erupted, scattering stone fragments. "We’ve found NOTHING!"
