Chapter 124: Crisis Within the Turkic
by post_apiChapter 124: Crisis Within the Turkic
Zuomu spoke while trembling, his body showing extreme fear.
Ashide’s eyes seemed to spit fire, and his teeth were clenched so tight they grated audibly!
He had never doubted the truth of Zuomu’s words.
He almost spoke through gritted teeth, “Ashina really has a wolf’s heart and wild ambitions. Our Ashide lineage has yielded and avoided conflict at every turn, not fighting or struggling for anything. Yet he still isn’t prepared to let us go!”
“It seems Ashina’s claim of wanting to unify Xiao Kingdom is false; unifying our Turkic people is his real goal!”
Zuomu said to Ashide from the side, “That Bo Khan, what should we do next?”
Ashide pondered for a moment before speaking to Zuomu, “I will tell outsiders that there was infighting among the sub-tribes of the Madams within our Ashide lineage! That the Ninth Lady was killed! We must not startle the snake in the grass for now.”
Zuomu nodded, “Should we inform Helu, and the other tribe leaders…”
Ashide shook his head, “Not yet. Helu is too impulsive. We also don’t know if the other tribes have colluded with Ashina! So, let’s take one step at a time and see.”
“That Bo Khan, I just came to find you. Could this make him suspicious?” Zuomu asked.
Ashide nodded firmly, “That’s for sure! However, as long as I’m here, he won’t dare act rashly! Ashina’s main force is all here. I don’t believe he can really wipe out everyone from all the tribes, leaving no survivors! If there are any survivors, we’ll assess the situation then.”
Zuomu nodded.
After some time to adjust, Ashide calmed himself down. Then he said to Zuomu, “Zuomu, for these next days, you stay with me. To avoid others tricking information out of you.”
Zuomu nodded on the surface, but in his heart he thought, “It shouldn’t be too long now!”
…
Two hours later, Da Lei lowered the two people who were hanging from a large tree in that dense forest again.
These people were from the Tiesa Tribe and the Gesa Tribe.
After using the same method to release them,
Da Lei did not linger here and left.
The people from the Tiesa Tribe and the Gesa Tribe returned to the camps where their respective tribal armies were stationed.
Then, as Zuomu Ashide had said, they recounted similar information.
Tiesa and Gesa immediately flew into a furious rage. The first thing they thought of was the situation when Zuomu Ashide had gone to find Ashide earlier.
Under the moonlight, the two hurriedly went to find Ashide.
Although it was late at night, Ashide was not asleep.
Just as he was tossing and turning, unable to sleep, a voice came from the entrance, “Khan, Khans Tiesa and Gesa request an audience at the entrance.”
Zuomu, who was sleeping to one side, had a faint gleam in his eyes and immediately got up.
Ashide frowned slightly and had them brought in.
After Tiesa and Gesa entered, Ashide looked at their expressions and guessed their purpose in coming.
After inviting them inside,
Tiesa spoke first, “Ashide, you probably know why we’ve come.”
Ashide instinctively glanced at Gesa, “Of course. Were you also attacked by Ashina?”
The two nodded repeatedly, “That’s right…”
They each explained the news they had received.
Seeing that Gesa was also nodding, Ashide said, “Gesa, isn’t Wuqimu Ashina’s principal wife? How could they attack even you?”
Gesa’s face looked grim as he said, “After Wuqimu married Ashina, she became Wuqimu Gesa Ashina! She is already an Ashina now! It’s clear that Ashina’s desire to unify Xiao Kingdom is false; unifying us is his true goal!”
Ashide nodded in agreement. “Did no one from Helu survive and come here?”
Tiesa shook his head, “No, but when our tribesmen came, they saw the Helu Tribe strewn with corpses everywhere. Ashina and Helu have been sworn enemies for generations; it’s natural for them to fight to the death. We came to you because we want to discuss what we should do next.”
Ashide said, “Our women, our children, our cattle and sheep, our horses, everything we have is in the rear! Ashina slaughtering our tribesmen means he wants to cut off our descendants! We will not let him succeed!”
Gesa nodded and said, “Exactly! Let’s go find Helu and bring him here. If he is willing, we can catch Ashina and his army off guard before they can react. We’ll attack them by surprise!”
Tiesa nodded from the side, “I agree!”
Ashide said, “Then go and summon Helu!”
Tiesa nodded.
Ashide called for a Messenger Soldier to go and summon Helu.
…
At Ashina’s residence, Scouts continuously entered the tent.
“Report, Khan! Khan Ashina, today, tribesmen from the rear of both the Tiesa Tribe and the Gesa Tribe came to find their leaders!”
“Report, Khan, Leaders Tiesa and Gesa went to Khan Ashide’s camp.”
“Report, Khan, a Personal Guard of Ashide went to Helu’s dwelling and invited Helu over.”
Scouts kept coming and going, reporting.
Ever since Ashina saw Zuomu Ashide, he felt something was wrong, even though he let them leave.
However, Ashina still dispatched his Scouts to keep watch.
Because, around the time the letters from the Family Heads of the New Four Great Clans arrived, a letter from Mr. Hidden Dragon also came with them.
This Hidden Dragon told Ashina that his intelligence network had not seen Xiao Ce appearing in Lingxiao City for a long time.
Hidden Dragon suspected that Xiao Ce had secretly followed Han Da to Yanbei City. He reminded Ashina that although Xiao Ce lacked great talent, he was skilled in scheming, quite cunning, and excelled at sowing discord and winning people over.
Hidden Dragon told Han Da that as long as the Turkic internal affairs remained stable, with his help, great things could be accomplished!
But, if problems arose within the Turkic, he would be powerless to reverse the situation!
Therefore, when he saw Zuomu Ashide’s disheveled appearance and sneaky manner, he sensed trouble.
He sent people to watch, and indeed, this surveillance revealed the problem!
Ashina said to the Scout, “Go and scout again!”
The Scout cupped his hands and left.
Mosi Ashina cupped his hands, “Father Khan, you don’t think they will rebel, do you?”
Ashina narrowed his eyes slightly, “If you said Helu would rebel, I’d believe it! But Ashide cares most about the unity of the Turkic Kingdom! And Tiesa is the wealthiest tribe in Turkic; he also desires peace. As for Gesa, we are even connected by marriage; rebellion is even less likely!”
Mosuo Ashina said, “Then, Father Khan, them holding a secret meeting together without you! Isn’t that a problem?”
Ashina said, “Their excluding me certainly means there’s some problem among them! Since they didn’t invite me, then I’ll go see for myself…”
Mosi Ashina looked worried, “Father Khan, what if they harbor ill intentions…”
Ashina said, “I am open and aboveboard. Why should I fear their plots and schemes? If they kill me, you must quickly take all the armies and flee. Do not engage them in battle! Understand?”
Mosi Ashina grew even more puzzled, “Father Khan, why? If they kill you, shouldn’t we fight them to the death?”
Ashina frowned slightly, “If they move to kill me, it means they have certainly been stirred up and have united! If they unite, are we a match for them? If we truly clash head-on, are you a match for Helu’s army?”
The two brothers Mosi and Mosuo, including the other Khan’s Sons, fell silent.
They knew perfectly well. If a real fight broke out,
they truly were no match for the people of the Helu Tribe.
Ashina stood up and said, “Alright, have everyone prepare. If the situation turns for the worse, you must flee!”
Mosi Ashina said, “Then, Father Khan, if they kill you… who will lead us Ashina?”
Ashina gave a meaningful look at the fervent gazes of the Princes.
“Let Mosi act as the Agent for now.”
Seeing the varied expressions on the Princes’ faces, Ashina looked at them and said, “What? You all think I’ll die over there? Don’t worry, I’m not going to die just yet.”
With that, Ashina said no more and told everyone, “Alright, enough talk! All of you, go and prepare.”
He then looked to his side at a figure who was burly and powerful, yet had a somewhat youthful face.
“Fangang, you come with me.”
This Fangang Ashina was Ashina’s youngest son and also the strongest in combat among all his sons.
Though only fourteen, he already stood two meters tall, weighed nearly three hundred pounds, and resembled a small mountain.
Not only was he as solid as a mountain, but he was also incredibly strong; he had once torn a horse apart with his bare hands.
The boy was good in every way, just a bit simple.
However, this boy was absolutely loyal to Ashina.
If he had to name the most trusted among his sons, it was Fangang Ashina.
Fangang Ashina nodded, patting his chest.
“Father Khan, don’t worry. With me here, if they dare harm you, I’ll tear them apart alive.”
Ashina looked at Fangang Ashina as he walked to his side, stood on tiptoe, and patted Fangang Ashina’s shoulder, “Truly worthy of being my great son. Later, watch my eyes!”
Fangang Ashina nodded and followed behind Ashina.
…
Back in Ashide’s large tent, after Helu arrived,
seeing everyone’s expression looking as if they had eaten something foul, he asked, “Gentlemen, why do you all look like this? Has something happened?”
They looked at each other.
Finally, their gazes signaled for Ashide to speak.
After all, in Helu’s eyes, Ashide still commanded some respect.
Ashide said to Helu, “Helu, no matter what I say next, you must remain calm!”
Helu saw this and said, “All this mystery! Don’t worry, do you think I’m a three-year-old? I can’t control my emotions! There’s nothing I haven’t experienced. Ashide, go ahead and speak.”
Ashide took a deep breath and concisely explained the situation.
“Aaaah!!!”
Upon hearing it, Helu roared, directly flipping the table in front of him.
He drew the sword from his waist and said fiercely, “That donkey-fxxking Ashina! I’ll skin him alive!”
