Chapter 93: Another Treasure

The scorching flames blazed fiercely around a circular ring, turning it translucent and glowing a deep red. Nearby, a brilliant deep blue ice energy hovered silently, radiating a coldness that chilled to the bone without even touching it.

The two rings were completely different. The fiery one was the Blazing Flame Explosion Ring, while the blue ice ring had clearly formed from another blazing sun. Yet how could two blazing suns result in an ice energy ring?

Ye Yun and Su Ling stared at the treasures in awe. Both sensed the immense power within the rings. If fully unleashed, any disciple below the Qi refining stage would perish instantly.

What shocked them most was that the Blazing Flame Explosion Ring and the ice energy ring didn’t repel each other despite their opposing natures. Instead, a faint thread of light connected them—one end fiery red, the other crystalline blue.

“These must be a pair,” said Su Ling, her noble upbringing granting her keen insight.

Ye Yun nodded, studying the spiritual weapons. “I’ll try reclaiming the Blazing Flame Explosion Ring. My bond with it seems to be fading.”

He stepped forward, white light flashing around his hand as he grabbed for the fiery ring.

To his surprise, he seized it effortlessly. Instead of scorching heat, a piercing coldness shot through his palm into his body, nearly making him drop it.

Gritting his teeth, Ye Yun yanked the ring back. In mere seconds, a thin layer of frost coated his right hand. Any longer, and his entire arm might’ve frozen.

Su Ling watched, stunned. Even her vast knowledge couldn’t explain the ring’s sudden transformation.

As the Blazing Flame Explosion Ring settled in Ye Yun’s grip, a ghostly blue flame flickered across its surface. Heat flooded back, tinged with a sharp sting.

“Take the ice ring too,” Su Ling urged, excitement rising. “They’re a pair—only together can they unleash full power.”

Though less experienced with spiritual weapons, Ye Yun agreed. Wielding both could overwhelm even Qi refining stage opponents.

He reached for the blue ice ring with his left hand. This time, no resistance—but instead of cold, unbearable heat surged into his palm.

The icy essence crawled up his meridians, freezing his chest. Blood and energy channels stiffened, threatening irreversible damage.

Acting fast, Ye Yun channeled the Blazing Flame Explosion Ring’s heat into his body. Two opposing forces collided—fire and ice warring inside him.

Half his body burned; half numbed with cold. Neither energy yielded.

“What now?” Ye Yun muttered, trembling as he clutched both rings.

Su Ling sensed the crisis. “Focus! Guide the energy to your dantian!” she cried, echoing her sister Su Yinxue’s teachings.

The words struck Ye Yun like lightning. Clarity dawned.

Ye Yun guided two opposing energies toward his dantian, focusing his mind to control the intertwined black and white light of the Heart of Immortals and Demons. Since learning its name, he’d been too preoccupied with retrieving the Blazing Flame Explosion Ring to study it properly. But when Su Ling uttered "Still your breath, channel energy to the core," everything clicked.

He already knew this artifact could devour mixed energies. Summoning it now, the Ice and Fire powers were effortlessly consumed. The Heart of Immortals and Demons sprang from his dantian like a ravenous primordial beast, spinning into a whirlpool that gulped down both energies.

The pressure in Ye Yun’s body vanished. His ice-stung meridians healed as spiritual power flowed through them. Within moments, both the deep blue ice ring and Blazing Flame Explosion Ring stopped releasing energy.

"Did it drain them completely?" Panic flashed through him. Useless treasures would be disastrous.

As he reached to check, pure spiritual energy erupted from the Heart of Immortals and Demons. Ye Yun’s pulse quickened – this refined energy equaled months of cultivation. He stashed the artifacts and sat to meditate.

Su Ling blinked. "Ye Yun…?" Her whisper died as three lights emerged from him – purple lightning, blue frost, and flickering flames. Their mingled glow cast dancing shadows while faint thunder rumbled.

She covered her mouth. Ordinary warriors mastered one element. Geniuses might handle two. Three? Unheard of.

Ye Yun worked urgently, discovering the energy contained perfectly blended lightning, ice, and fire. Using his basic cultivation technique with the Little Absorption Technique, he fused them with his spiritual power. By the time an incense stick would’ve burned, the merger was complete.

Now his strikes could carry all three elements, or each individually. The Thundercloud Lightning Sword answered to lightning, the Blazing Flame Explosion Ring to fire, the unnamed ice ring to frost.

When his eyes opened, triumph curved his lips.
