Chapter 439: Breaking Through the Restrictions
Ye Yun walked straight through the shimmering light-and-shadow restrictions, leaving Zhuge Chong and Zheng Tong rooted to the spot in disbelief.
The two men lunged toward the Small Courtyard’s entrance, staring dumbfounded at the glowing restrictions. Their faces paled with shock.
These restrictions weren’t something just anyone could breach. Every cultivator who became one of Tian Yunzi’s Registered Disciples was an outstanding genius—knowledgeable, skilled, and exceptional. Even the quickest among them had taken an hour to dismantle the restrictions. For decades, entry had required breaking them. Yet now, Ye Yun had simply… walked through.
“Ye Yun! Where the hell are you?” Zhuge Chong barked, still refusing to believe the boy had crossed intact.
“Junior Brother Ye Yun, what illusion is this?” Zheng Tong demanded, equally skeptical.
As their voices faded, Ye Yun’s face materialized behind the glowing barrier.
“What’s wrong?”
“You… you actually went inside?” Zhuge Chong gaped at him. After a long pause, he blurted, “How did you enter without breaking the restrictions?”
Ye Yun scratched his nose, grinning through the barrier. “Who said they needed breaking? Can’t you sense the spatial laws woven into these restrictions? Use the right spatial nodes, and you just slip through.”
Zhuge Chong and Zheng Tong froze. These restrictions had stood for decades, barely changing. If spatial laws were embedded within, they should’ve detected them long ago. Especially Zhuge Chong—a prodigy since childhood, groomed by Divine Grace Palace, he’d studied spatial laws extensively even before reaching the Golden Core stage.
Yet despite his expertise, he’d never sensed anything.
“You’re lying,” Zhuge Chong said flatly.
“Am I?” Ye Yun tilted his head. “The spatial laws are right there. A Golden Core expert like you should’ve noticed. I barely glanced at them and still caught the ripples.”
Zhuge Chong’s brow furrowed. He unleashed his mental intent, scouring every inch of the restrictions. Not a flicker of spatial energy greeted him.
He glanced at Zheng Tong, who shook his head helplessly.
“Then come out,” Zhuge Chong ordered.
Ye Yun shrugged. One casual step later, he stood before them, the restrictions rippling faintly as he passed.
Zhuge Chong’s eyes widened. This time, he’d felt it—a whisper of spatial laws as Ye Yun crossed.
For decades, no disciple had noticed. Not even Zheng Tong, who’d guarded this courtyard for twenty years. The old man stared at Ye Yun like he’d seen a ghost.
Zhuge Chong’s playful demeanor vanished. “Zheng Tong will handle your orientation. I’m leaving.”
Ye Yun waved him off. “Go ahead. Drop by later if you’re bored.”
With a stiff nod, Zhuge Chong shot toward the mountain peak like an arrow.
Zheng Tong turned to Ye Yun, all smiles now. “Settle into the courtyard first. Later, we’ll get your Divine Grace Palace robes and token. Cultivate hard—I expect great things.”
Ye Yun laughed. “Smart man! Once I’m Master’s official disciple, I’ll remember you.”
As they left, atop Absolute Heart Peak, Tian Yunzi stood cloud-gazing in his white robes.
“Master,” Zhuge Chong said behind him, “Ye Yun entered without breaking the restrictions.”
“Thirty years…” Tian Yunzi murmured. “Thirty years, and someone finally saw through them.”
“So they truly contain spatial laws?”
“Your spatial comprehension disappoints me, Zhuge Chong. I thought you’d be first to notice.” Tian Yunzi turned, eyes gleaming. “Yet it was that Foundation Establishment brat. With his thunder and ice energies… What hidden family bred such a monster?”
“Shall we investigate his origins?”
“No.” Tian Yunzi’s voice hardened. “Talent like his? If he passes my trials, he’ll be my fourth—and final—disciple. I’ll mold him into something transcendent.”
Zhuge Chong shuddered. His master’s fervor was unprecedented.
Ye Yun’s arrival would change Divine Grace Palace—for better or worse, none could say.
