Chapter 331: Born as a Sword
“I come from the Spirit Demon Race!”
Shui Qingxuan’s voice was soft and melodious, yet it struck like thunder, leaving everyone speechless.
After a long silence, someone finally regained their composure.
“Madam Su, you claim to belong to the Spirit Demon Race—to be of the Demon Race?” Du Chuntian’s voice rang out first.
The crowd gasped collectively.
Ordinary demons or those with Demon Race Bloodlines always denied their heritage fiercely, knowing admission would invite mass attacks until their strength drained away. Yet here stood Shui Qingxuan, a woman without cultivation, lightly fending off the truth as she admitted it herself.
“Shui Qingxuan, do you understand your words?” Elder Shi’s eyes glinted with a sly smile.
“I do. I am of the Spirit Demon Race,” she answered gently.
“Good. Very good!” Elder Shi laughed, his venomous gaze shifting to Su Hao.
“Xuan’er, what madness is this?” Su Hao growled, his face darkening.
Shui Qingxuan smiled. “Whether I’m a demon matters little today. Can’t you see, husband?”
Su Hao froze, then understood. Today’s crisis—ostensibly about Su Ling’s bloodline—was premeditated. Even without her, another spark would’ve ignited their schemes.
Elder Shi and Du Chuntian had conspired to weaken the Heavenly Sword Sect. Elder Shi craved control, while Du Chuntian and the royals sought its training resources. Others merely scavenged for scraps. To this end, Du Chuntian had even manipulated Mei Yansheng into deploying a Golden Core stage expert.
But their plans unraveled. Su Hao’s power, Elder Seven’s arrival, Ye Yun’s cultivation level, and Murong Wuqing’s Golden Core-level strength had nearly ruined them. Only Mei Yansheng’s sudden intervention prevented Du Chuntian’s humiliating retreat.
Their original plot was simple: pressure the sect into surrendering Su Ling under pretext of negligence, then demand cultivation techniques and resources as “penance” for nearly unleashing disaster upon Jin Kingdom.
But Shui Qingxuan’s bold confession simplified everything.
“Esteemed leaders of Jin,” Du Chuntian declared, “you’ve heard Madam Su’s admission. Su Ling’s Demon Race Bloodline needs no further proof. What shall we do?”
“This is delicate,” Duan Yunsha sighed. “She’s the Shadowless Peak Master’s wife. Mishandling this could fracture alliances.”
“Prince Yun speaks wisely,” Du Chuntian nodded. “We must tread carefully to preserve peace.”
“Peace?” Duan Hongcheng stepped forward. “Demons bring bloodshed. Mercy risks future calamities. Destroy them in their infancy!”
“True,” Du Chuntian feigned reluctance, “but she’s no ordinary demon. Her status complicates matters.”
“Status changes nothing!” Duan Hongcheng roared. “A demon remains a demon—slay it!”
“But…” Du Chuntian hesitated theatrically.
“Prince Hong is right,” Elder Shi cut in, staring at Su Hao. “Would you spare a viper in your bed? Think of the common folk!”
“Since we’re deadlocked,” Du Chuntian sighed, “let Mr. Mei decide.”
“Yes!” the princes chorused. “A master from the great nation knows how to handle demons!”
Mei Yansheng chuckled. “No debate needed. Once my elder brother arrives, we’ll take these two, refine their souls, and end their cycles of rebirth.”
“A solution worthy of your stature!” Du Chuntian bowed deeply.
“Hypocrites. Vile, spineless worms.”
Ye Yun’s icy voice sliced through their mutual admiration from the Judgment Platform.
“You dare insult your betters?” Duan Hongcheng thundered.
“Patience, Prince Hong,” Ye Yun sneered. “After I finish with Chen Tianyun, you’re next.”
“Outrageous!” Chen Tianyun and Duan Hongcheng shouted together.
“You think you can defeat me?” Chen Tianyun seethed.
“Enough talk.” Ye Yun raised his Purple Shadow Sword. “Show me this ‘Illusionary Three Absolutes.’ Let’s see if its demon energy matches your lies.”
Chen Tianyun hesitated. Unleashing the Divine Talisman would reveal its taint. Though Leader Du or the royals might weather such exposure, a mere disciple like him couldn’t withstand Su Hao’s wrath.
“I don’t need the talisman to crush you!” Snatching a white sword, he hissed, “Survive my Profound Ice Break, and you’ll see its power!”
The blade trembled, cold ripples spreading across the platform. Yet Ye Yun’s Purple Shadow Sword erupted in violet light, scattering the frost. Thunder crackled, flames roared, and ice shattered as radiance engulfed the blade.
“Born as a Sword!”
