Chapter 307: The End of the Demon
Behind the Shadowless Peak, in the Small Courtyard.
“Ling’er, what exactly happened? Speak slowly,” Su Hao sat rigidly at the stone table, Murong Wuqing seated beside him.
Su Ling’s face paled with terror, tears glistening in her eyes before spilling down her cheeks.
“Master, this matter is too grave for hasty decisions,” Ye Yun gently squeezed Su Ling’s hand before turning to address them.
“Naturally. Brother Wuqing and I understand the weight of this matter,” Su Hao nodded, casting a glance at Murong Wuqing.
“Enough chatter. I’m only here to verify if this girl truly carries Demon Race Bloodline. The rest holds no interest for me,” Murong Wuqing’s icy gaze swept over them as he spoke.
“I… I don’t know. My mind went blank, like my body wasn’t my own. When I regained control, Ye Yun and Sister said I’d… changed,” Su Ling stammered, her memory of the Bloodline Awakening hazy.
“Ye Yun, Yinxue—you explain,” Su Hao commanded, brows furrowing.
Exchanging glances, Ye Yun and Su Yinxue stepped forward. “Master, Brother Wuqing—how did you learn of Ling’er’s transformation?”
Murong Wuqing’s eyes narrowed, a cold snort escaping him.
“Though the Soul-Cutting Mountains exist in separate space, our arrays detected surging demon energy—visible even across dimensions. After the spatial passage reopened, Jun Ruolan’s report confirmed it,” Su Hao explained quietly.
Murong Wuqing added, “The spatial magical array there falls under my watch. Our divine hall contains an ancestral mirror that reveals events based on one’s cultivation level. While I saw only blurred images, the demonic aura was unmistakable. The truth can’t be hidden.”
Ye Yun nodded. “We were trapped by Jun Ruolan and the True Fire Flying Lion. Without Ling’er’s sudden transformation, we’d have burned alive. But we’ve never encountered demons or studied their lore—how can we confirm this was Bloodline Awakening?”
“When Ling’er rose into the air, no calls reached her. Her unleashed power drove the lion back before she collapsed, awakening normally,” Su Yinxue continued.
Su Hao remained silent, his face stormy.
“The Demon Race differs from humans,” Murong Wuqing stated. “They’re born with wild strength. At their peak, every essence blood droplet holds immense power. Their Bloodlines pass down memories and cultivation techniques through generations until awakening.”
Su Hao added grimly, “If awakened abruptly, the bloodline’s creator could seize control. But over time, their soul fades. What Ling’er experienced was the bloodline’s primal impulse—once fully awakened, she’ll master it completely.”
“But why assume it’s Demon Race Bloodline?” Ye Yun countered. “Immortals have bloodlines too. Couldn’t this be immortal heritage?”
Su Yinxue brightened. “Yes! Perhaps Ling’er—"
The two leaders exchanged weary glances. “Su Hao, I cannot aid you here,” Murong Wuqing murmured.
“I know,” Su Hao replied heavily.
Ye Yun observed their interaction with surprise—their rapport contradicted rumors of Murong Wuqing’s solitary nature.
“Testing is simple,” Su Hao continued. “Ten thousand years ago, after immortals sealed the demons, they gave humanity the End of the Demon pill formula. When consumed by demons, it reveals their true form. For bloodline bearers, it forces full awakening while twisting their demonic energy—creating internal conflict that destroys them.”
“The mutated energy battles pure demonic power,” Murong Wuqing said coldly. “The victim endures unimaginable agony until death and spirit dissolution.”
Su Ling trembled violently, clutching Ye Yun’s arm.
“Such a pill must be hard to make,” Ye Yun pressed.
Su Hao barked a bitter laugh. “That’s the cruelty. Though an immortal’s formula, it’s laughably simple. Our Heavenly Sword Sect could produce thousands within three days.”
Shocked silence fell.
“So in three days…” Ye Yun began.
“If no demon blood exists, the pill merely strengthens soul slightly. No harm,” Su Hao said.
“Then we prepare,” Ye Yun declared. “If innocent, we demand justice. If not… we can’t let Ling’er die!”
Tears streamed down Su Ling’s face as she clung to Ye Yun.
Murong Wuqing stood abruptly. “I’ll return with the pills in three days. Find a solution by then.” His form vanished mid-sentence.
“Ling’er, go inside with Senior Sister Yinxue,” Ye Yun urged softly. The girls retreated, leaving him with Su Hao.
“Master… where’s Aunt Xuan?”
Su Hao shrugged. “Wandering, perhaps.”
“She missed Ling’er’s return. Strange,” Ye Yun mused before leaning close. “Aunt Xuan sees through cultivation levels despite being non-cultivator. Even peak Foundation Establishment stage secrets…”
“Her innate gift,” Su Hao said.
Ye Yun’s voice dropped to a whisper. “That’s no gift—it’s a Demon Race supernatural power.”
