Chapter 155: Absolute Power!

Zhong Ying stared in disbelief. The blood-colored great roc was a medium-grade spiritual weapon. Though not exceptional among its rank, his cultivation allowed him to unleash its full power. No one understood the attack’s force better than him—even he couldn’t easily block it.

Yet Ye Yun not only blocked it effortlessly but summoned hundreds of lightning bolts, draining the weapon’s spiritual power completely.

Zhong Ying’s eyes locked onto the Purple Shadow Sword in Ye Yun’s hand. With each step Ye Yun took, the sword trembled, rippling waves of dazzling purple light.

“That sword must be a top-tier medium-grade spiritual weapon. Obtaining it would double my strength—no, it’d be like giving wings to a tiger!” Greed burned in Zhong Ying’s eyes.

Ye Yun smirked, reading his thoughts. “Brother Zhong, you want this sword? Defeat me, and it’s yours.”

Zhong Ying retreated a step.

“Afraid?” Ye Yun taunted, advancing. “You’re a fourth-level Qi refining black robe disciple. I just reached the first level. Since when does a higher realm fear a lower one?”

“Qin Tian! Qin Chong! Attack with me!” Zhong Ying barked, face darkening.

The Qin brothers exchanged uneasy glances. Ye Yun’s earlier strike had shocked them—its thunderous power exceeded anything they could withstand. A direct hit would cripple or kill them.

But refusing to aid Zhong Ying meant defeat. All three would shatter their life-saving talismans, forfeiting the inner disciple assessment—an unbearable loss. After a pause, they nodded.

They leaped skyward. Qin Chong brandished a silver battle spear glinting in sunlight, while Qin Tian gripped a gleaming silver sword over three meters long.

Shouting in unison, their weapons clashed midair. Light erupted like a blazing sun, blindingly brilliant.

“Heavenly Sword Wheel Spear!”

True qi surged from their bodies into the weapons. The sword multiplied into thousands, forming a spinning wheel. At its center, the spear thickened to pillar-like size, roaring downward with crushing force.

This joint strike—their ultimate technique—transcended ordinary eighth-grade Celestial Techniques when combined, forming a devastating magical array.

Zhong Ying’s eyes flashed. Arching his back, two translucent wings materialized behind him. With two flaps, the wings solidified. A massive blood-red battle axe appeared in his grip.

“Blood Demon Battle Axe!”

The wings beat fiercely, lifting him airborne. He swung the axe downward, channeling every shred of his true qi into the strike.

Both attacks hurtled toward Ye Yun simultaneously—the spinning sword wheel from above, the blood-axe cleaving horizontally. Each strike neared fifth-level Qi refining power. Colliding midair, they’d devastate even their users.

Zhong Ying’s timing was flawless. Let Ye Yun try blocking two peak-tier strikes at once!

A vicious grin spread as Zhong Ying imagined Ye Yun’s body shattered, spirit extinguished.

Yet as the attacks closed in, Ye Yun’s calm face twisted into a mocking smile.

Nearby, Duan Chenfeng and Yu Minghong maintained composed expressions but seethed inside. Even a glancing blow from these strikes would annihilate them instantly.

However, Ye Yun showed no signs of panic. Instead, a faint smile appeared on his face.

A purple light suddenly shot upwards into the misty clouds. The swirling fog instantly condensed as thunder boomed and lightning tore across the sky.

Beside Ye Yun, flames erupted alongside a cluster of ice energy. The fiery red flames and deep blue ice stood in stark contrast – one searing hot, the other piercing cold.

The Heavenly Sword Wheel Spear plunged toward Ye Yun’s head. But the Qin brothers suddenly found their target vanished, replaced by endless blue.

CRACK!

The spear struck the Ice Spirit Soul Lock. The sharp sound came not from breaking ice, but from the spear’s tip snapping. Deep blue mist engulfed the weapon, freezing it instantly before surging toward the Qin brothers.

Horrified, they felt their spiritual weapons become completely immobilized. Releasing their weapons was their only escape from the spreading frost.

"How?!" they roared in unison.

As they let go, the icy mist solidified into two thin Ice Needles that shot toward their foreheads. The brothers desperately leaped back, but the needles pierced their brows with blue vapor trailing.

The Qin brothers stood frozen, eyes widening in terror before life faded completely. The Ice Needles had struck too fast for them to crush their life-saving talismans clutched in limp hands.

Death and disappearance of the spirit!

Meanwhile, Zhong Ying’s Blood Demon Battle Axe descended – only to meet raging flames instead of its target. The fire scorched the air itself, swallowing the axe whole.

"You seek death!" Zhong Ying bellowed, pouring all his true qi into the axe. But the Blazing Flame Explosion Ring, empowered by Ye Yun’s Qi refining stage cultivation, easily withstood the strike.

Dark storm clouds gathered above Zhong Ying as electric snakes danced within. Purple lightning struck his skull with apocalyptic force – the Thundercloud Lightning Sword’s third technique: Divine Thunder Annihilation!

BOOM!

The blast hurled Zhong Ying dozens of yards backward. His charred body smashed through the cliff wall, leaving a crater. Blood rained from his cracked flesh as he fell.

"Impossible!" his scream echoed before impact.

Ye Yun stood victorious – flames dancing at his left, ice energy shimmering at his right, the purple Divine Sword floating above him like a war god’s halo.

Duan Chenfeng and Yu Minghong stared dumbly. The lightning-fast attacks they’d witnessed couldn’t possibly come from a new disciple. Was this truly Ye Yun, not Shadowless Peak’s Master Su Hao?

After long moments, they finally stirred as Ye Yun moved forward. Exchanging stunned glances, neither could comprehend how reaching the Qi refining stage granted such monstrous power.

"Too strong…" Duan Chenfeng mumbled, mind blank.

"Why?" Yu Minghong whispered. "Even Great Qin Empire’s geniuses pale before this…"

Ye Yun approached Zhong Ying’s broken form. The defeated man could only stare, powerless to reach his life-saving talisman.

"Tsk." Ye Yun’s mocking smile appeared. "Had you surrendered your treasure and cut off an arm earlier, you might’ve avoided this… oh wait, you’d still end up dead with your spirit extinguished."
