Chapter 133: Extraordinary Spiritual Weapon

Luo Wencheng couldn’t understand how Ye Yun had shattered the True Qi Cage with a single sword strike after being trapped. This defied all logic and shattered his understanding of cultivation.

The True Qi Cage was a last-resort technique used by late-stage Qi refining practitioners, meant to end in mutual destruction. Normally, only those at the foundation establishment stage could break free—yet Ye Yun’s cultivation level remained at Body Refinement Stage Seven of the Comprehending Qi Stage.

“Impossible!” Luo Wencheng roared, desperation in his voice as he tried to retaliate.

But his body held no trace of true qi—every drop had been drained to sustain the cage.

The Purple Shadow Sword gleamed as it sliced through his chest.

A cold sensation spread through Luo Wencheng’s torso before blood erupted in a half-meter arc. His bisected body crumpled to the ground, eyes frozen in hatred and despair.

Ye Yun exhaled slowly, his own heart still racing. A heartbeat slower, and the cage’s explosion would’ve reduced him to nothing. Death and disappearance of the spirit had been mere moments away.

“What tier is this Little Absorption Technique?” he murmured, steadying himself. The way it had synergized with the Heart of Immortals and Demons during the crisis astonished him. If mastered, spiritual energy shortages would never trouble him again.

“Absorbing true qi…” He smirked, eyes sharp with realization.

“Ye Yun!”

A floral scent enveloped him as Su Ling crashed into his arms. Her tear-streaked face pressed against his chest.

“I’m alright,” he soothed, embracing her.

“You idiot!” She trembled, laughing through tears. “I thought you were—”

A mock-gasp interrupted them. “Su Ling! Where’s my hug?”

The girl sprang back, cheeks crimson. “Duan Chenfeng! I’ll have Father seal you in Shadowless Peak’s deepest cell!”

“Cruel!” The youth clutched his chest dramatically. “Such different treatment for pretty boys?”

Yu Minghong approached silently, staring at Luo Wencheng’s corpse. When he finally spoke to Ye Yun, awe tinged his voice. “Brother Ye… that One Sword technique…”

Ye Yun shrugged. “You’ll reach Qi refining stage soon enough. Third layer tomb explorers aren’t weak.”

“Weak compared to you,” the junior brother muttered, eyes downcast.

Ignoring this, Ye Yun stripped Luo Wencheng’s storage pouch and ring. Spiritual power flowed easily into the unsealed items—death had erased all protections.

As expected of a top ten disciple from Absolute Sword Peak. The treasures inside made even Ye Yun’s breath catch.

In the storage pouch, there were only neatly arranged top-grade spirit stones, totaling exactly five thousand. Within the storage ring, a crimson spiritual weapon drew Ye Yun’s gaze.

A red mist-like spiritual weapon undulated within the ring. Ye Yun seized it, finding it feather-light in his palm. Only when he gripped tighter did an astonishing silkiness register against his skin.

Shaking it out, he discovered it was a woman’s upper garment – blazing scarlet, enveloped in gentle wisps of spiritual energy resembling morning fog.

"The Rainbow Cloud Dress? This is the Rainbow Cloud Dress! To think it ended up with Luo Wencheng!"

Before Ye Yun could inquire, Su Ling beside him gasped behind her hand.

"You recognize this?" Ye Yun tilted his head.

Su Ling nodded. "The Rainbow Cloud Dress is a supreme treasure of the Heavenly Sword Sect – an extraordinary spiritual weapon. It vanished mysteriously a year ago. The Sect Leader nearly ordered the slaying of all disciples guarding the treasure vault in his rage."

"Extraordinary spiritual weapon?" Ye Yun blinked. In his understanding, top-grade spiritual weapons were already rare marvels. The existence of an extraordinary grade had once seemed mere legend to him.

"Exactly. This was the first extraordinary spiritual weapon forged after our sect’s founding," Su Ling explained. "Bestowed upon an exceptional female disciple who later became the third Sect Leader – Elder Duanmu Qin."

"Duanmu Qin!" Ye Yun inhaled sharply. She ranked among the sect’s five legendary Golden Pill masters throughout history, said to have reached the Seventh Level of the Golden Core stage – half a step from pill-breaking rebirth into the Nascent Soul stage. Though in Ye Yun’s youth, the Golden Core itself had seemed the pinnacle of cultivation.

"Indeed. She nearly achieved pill-breaking rebirth but failed at the final moment, passing with eternal regret." Su Ling’s voice softened.

"Enough ancient history!" Duan Chenfeng’s interruption sliced through the solemn moment. "What does this dress actually do?"

Exchanging amused glances, Ye Yun and Su Ling chuckled.

"It’s an extraordinary defensive spiritual weapon," Su Ling resumed. "Defensive arms are hard enough to craft – an extraordinary grade is near impossible. This garment requires female pure yin spiritual power to activate. Even a body refinement stage girl could withstand a Foundation Establishment expert’s single strike. Qi refining stage attackers couldn’t scratch the wearer."

The three young men stared in disbelief.

"Any Foundation Establishment expert? Regardless of their level?" Duan Chenfeng’s voice rose.

"Preposterous!" Ye Yun shook his head. "The recoil alone would kill a low-level cultivator!"

Su Ling scoffed. "Fools! The dress disperses the attack entirely – like being brushed by a breeze. Though against Foundation Establishment experts, it can’t endure repeated strikes."

Ye Yun grimaced. "If it could, this would be an Immortal artifact, not mere extraordinary grade."

"Exactly. But against Qi refining attacks like Luo Wencheng’s?" Su Ling gestured dismissively. "Useless. The dress wouldn’t even ripple."

Rubbing his chin, Ye Yun turned to Su Ling. "Then you should wear it. Right now."

"Are you mad?" Su Ling recoiled. "Even Father’s position as Shadowless Peak Master couldn’t save me if the sect found out!"

Ye Yun shrugged. "It’s useless to us. What then?"

"Return it to the sect!" Yu Minghong interjected eagerly. "Claim we found it in the great tomb! The rewards could make us elite disciples!"

Ye Yun shook his head. "Presenting such a treasure directly? Even if the Sect Leader rewards us generously, envious eyes would hunt us. We couldn’t keep the prizes safe."

"He’s right," Duan Chenfeng agreed uncharacteristically. "We need someone powerful to deliver it while we lay low."

"Who?" The question came in unison from Yu Minghong and Su Ling.

Two voices chimed together: "Leader Su Hao of Shadowless Peak!"

"My father?" Su Ling blinked.

"Precisely." Ye Yun nodded. "Have Master Su Hao present it as your discovery. None would dare covet rewards given through him. Those strong enough to challenge him wouldn’t bother for mere sect prizes."

Duan Chenfeng’s eyes glinted. "When your father receives the sect’s rewards, he’ll pass them to you. Then… we divide them."

Su Ling’s gaze brightened as she met Ye Yun’s eyes, nodding slowly.
