Chapter 132: Complete Refinement!

Luo Wencheng’s true qi remained formidable despite his broken arms, allowing him to resist both flames and ice energy. Yet his pupils suddenly caught sight of an object expanding rapidly in his vision—something crashing toward him with terrifying force.

A pagoda materialized out of nowhere, roughly ten feet tall, sweeping through the air to slam downward.

An ordinary tower-shaped spiritual weapon wouldn’t have fazed him. But this pagoda radiated a gentle glow that concealed an overwhelming, incomprehensible power.

As a Qi refining stage level seven cultivator—one step from Foundation Establishment—Luo Wencheng prided himself on his discernment. If even he couldn’t pierce the tower’s mysteries, this assault far exceeded his capacity to withstand.

Yet spiritual weapons had limits. Without sufficient cultivation, a user couldn’t activate even a fraction of their power. Ye Yun hadn’t even reached the Qi refining stage. How could his control over this Light Tower pressure Luo Wencheng so completely? Just what tier was this artifact?

Luo Wencheng tensed to dodge.

Horror gripped him as the tower pivoted midair with unnatural precision, mirroring Ye Yun’s slightest gesture, before plunging toward its target.

This was the Soul Turning Tower, seized from Hualun. Though she’d never specified its grade, Ye Yun guessed it ranked among the finest top-grade spiritual weapons. Why else would an alchemy pill-stage expert like Hualun choose it to nurture her spirit?

Top-grade spiritual weapons were beyond rare. Even as one of Absolute Sword Peak’s top ten disciples, Luo Wencheng only owned medium-grade artifacts. Such treasures belonged solely to experts surpassing the four Peak Masters.

A top-grade weapon’s might remained potent even in unskilled hands—like a child wildly swinging a blade sharp enough to slice through iron. However strong the warrior, such a blade could still draw blood.

The Soul Turning Tower descended mercilessly.

Trapped, Luo Wencheng gritted his teeth. Smoke billowed from his crown, coalescing into a protective canopy.

CRACK!

The tower crushed through the smoky barrier like shattered glass. Debris dissolved into vapor as the pagoda’s momentum barely slowed before hammering Luo Wencheng’s skull.

The cultivator crumpled, face draining of color. Metallic blood flooded his mouth. The tower’s weight surpassed all expectations—a falling hill rather than mere artifact.

"What sorcery is this?!" Luo Wencheng shrieked, unleashing bursts of light and shadow to stall the descending pagoda.

"Struggling’s pointless, Senior Brother." Ye Yun’s icy taunt carried through the chaos. "Broken arms mean no secret techniques. Accept your fate."

"NEVER!" Luo Wencheng’s face flushed crimson, eyes blazing. "WILD TRUE QI!"

Light erupted around him. Surging true qi erupted from his pores, engulfing Ye Yun and the pagoda in a churning maelstrom.

"You want my life? We’ll burn together!" Ripping apart his own robes, Luo Wencheng bled radiant crimson energy that expanded into a thirty-yard dome.

Though lacking spellcraft’s finesse, the raw power pressed against Ye Yun like a physical threat.

"TRUE QI CAGE!"

Luo Wencheng’s arms dissolved into bloody mist, merging with the energy storm. The crimson haze solidified overhead, crashing down as a prison.

"This cage binds my essence and flesh! We die as one!"

True Qi Cage?

A hundred zhang away, Duan Chenfeng, Su Ling, and Yu Minghong exchanged alarmed glances, helplessness etching their faces.

The True Qi Cage was an ancient sorcery that required self-destructing one’s true qi and merging it with flesh and blood to form a trapping prison. This cage possessed only one offensive method – detonation.

To trigger the explosion, the caster had to violently rupture their dantian, completely shattering their true qi. The destructive power depended entirely on the master’s cultivation level.

"Ye Yun, retreat! The True Qi Cage will explode!" Duan Chenfeng’s urgent shout reached Ye Yun’s ears instantly.

"Ye Yun, come back!" Su Ling’s voice trembled with worry.

Trapped in the swirling energies, Ye Yun struggled like a fly in amber. As a former servant disciple who’d recently become an outer disciple, he’d only read basic continental records. Restricted combat skills and arrays meant he’d never encountered this deadly technique.

Invisible forces pressed from all sides, making movement laborious. The cage’s power shocked him.

"You want me dead? We’ll perish together!" Luo Wencheng laughed wildly. His Light Tower hung motionless now that Ye Yun was immobilized.

"Brother Luo jokes. Your earlier victory was narrow. Let’s withdraw the cage and leave this great tomb." Ye Yun forced a bitter smile.

"Activation can’t be reversed. When the cage fills with true qi, we’ll both die in the explosion!" Luo Wencheng’s face contorted. The cage’s activation doomed them both.

Ye Yun’s face darkened. His Soul Turning Tower should have secured victory, yet this unforeseen trap had ensnared him.

"Find a way out!" Su Ling’s tearful plea came from a hundred zhang away. Duan Chenfeng restrained her from rushing forward.

As body refinement stage cultivators, they stood no chance against even a wounded Luo Wencheng. Charging blindly meant suicide.

"Stay back! I’ll break this cage!" Ye Yun growled.

Luo Wencheng sneered. "Only death awaits trapped victims unless their cultivation surpasses mine by a full realm."

The quicksand-like energies tightened with every struggle. Ye Yun’s forehead glistened with cold sweat as he chanted: "Disperse… refine…"

"Useless! Our spirits will vanish in the Nine Nether Realms!" Luo Wencheng cackled madly.

Su Ling collapsed silently, tears streaking her face.

Suddenly Ye Yun’s eyes snapped open. Crossing his arms, he thrust them forward. "Absorb!"

Spiritual power surged as he activated the Little Absorption Technique. Cage energies flooded his body like raging rivers through his arms.

"Immortals and Demons’ Heart, devour this qi!" he roared. A faint black and white light flashed between his brows as the artifact responded.

The Heart’s whirlpool rapidly consumed the invading true qi. Within moments, Ye Yun’s overload eased as absorption outpaced intake.

Luo Wencheng paled, sensing his essence blood-formed cage weakening inexplicably.

"Impossible!"

"Your cage proves feeble." Purple light flashed as Ye Yun’s sword shadows sliced through the disintegrating prison.

"Disappointed, Brother Luo?"

A purple arc cleaved the air – then Luo Wencheng’s chest.
