Chapter 129: I Come to Kill

Lightning tore through the sky, piercing the vast ocean. A violent aura whipped monstrous waves into frenzied motion.

Duan Chenfeng and Yu Minghong stood dumbfounded. Never had they imagined Ye Yun’s cultivation level could reach such terrifying heights—now rivaling even Qu Yiping’s.

"What did he even find in the Hualun Secret Vault? How’s this possible?" Duan Chenfeng muttered, face pale with shock.

"Brother Ye truly lives up to my expectations. His growth is…unbelievable," Yu Minghong agreed, voice trembling.

"If this continues, I’ll be left in the dust. Once Ye Yun finishes off that fool Qu Yiping, I’ll squeeze every secret from him," Duan Chenfeng declared, eyes gleaming as he watched the crackling storm above.

Yu Minghong merely nodded, an unreadable flicker in his gaze.

Su Ling stood motionless, her serene eyes fixed on Ye Yun with undisguised admiration. When they’d first met, he’d been a mere Body Refinement Fourth Level cultivator. Months later in the great tomb, he’d reached Body Refinement Sixth Level. Now, after two days? Comprehending Qi Stage. The speed defied reason.

More astonishingly, his foundation remained rock-solid. The sword technique he prepared now could slaughter even early Qi Refining Stage experts.

"You reckless fool," Su Ling murmured, a faint smile touching her lips. "After we escape this tomb, Father will drag you to Shadowless Peak himself."

Out on the raging sea, Qu Yiping’s face contorted with fury. Green light erupted from the Seven Absolute Devil’s Blade as he roared:

"Seven Absolute Devil’s Blade—Wrath Strike!"

The attack carried centuries of infamy. Decades ago, the original Seven Absolutes Demon had burned his essence to slay a Foundation Establishment Stage expert, etching this technique into legend. None dared corner him afterward—the risk of mutual destruction loomed too large.

A tsunami of energy erupted. Blade light ripped through air and sea alike.

Ye Yun smiled. Purple Shadow traced an arc through the storm. Lightning stilled, then coalesced into a single blazing point.

"Divine Thunder Annihilation!"

The third technique of Thundercloud Lightning Sword revealed itself. Heavenly wrath condensed into a violet spear of judgment.

BOOM!

Divine thunder clashed with demonic blade light. Purple and green energies writhed like colliding serpents. The ocean cratered beneath them, waves fleeing outward in panicked ripples.

Su Ling and the others staggered back ten zhang, barely keeping their footing.

Duan Chenfeng and Yu Minghong exchanged shell-shocked glances.

"Could you survive that?" Yu Minghong whispered, panic tightening his throat.

"Don’t be absurd," Duan Chenfeng spat. "Ye Yun’s a monster, but Qu Yiping? How? That blade shouldn’t grant such power!"

Yu Minghong clenched his fists. "My Little Xuanwu Shield remains incomplete. I must train harder."

"Training?" Duan Chenfeng laughed bitterly. "Some are born under lucky stars. They’ll reach Golden Pill Dao while we grind in the dirt."

"History’s kings earned crowns through sweat, not talent." Yu Minghong’s eyes burned. "Give me tenfold effort—a hundredfold—and I’ll surpass them all."

Duan Chenfeng fell silent, storm-winds whipping his hair as dark thoughts churned.

The green blade light and the purple Divine Thunder finally determined a winner. The Divine Thunder erupted with blinding radiance, clearing the gloomy sky and illuminating hundreds of zhang around with vivid clarity.

The green blade light shattered with a crack, its glow disintegrating into stardust that vanished in the air.

Boom!

The undiminished Divine Thunder crashed onto the Seven Absolute Devil’s Blade.

Qu Yiping felt immense power surge through the blade into his chest, as if struck by a warhammer.

Blood erupted from his mouth like crimson arrows, splattering across the ocean’s surface in blooming patterns before sinking. He hurtled backward into the sea, barely mustering strength to drag himself ashore before icy waters claimed him.

"Impossible!" Qu Yiping vomited endless streams of blood containing flecks of shattered organs, kneeling brokenly.

Ye Yun paled from exertion. Not yet at Qi refining stage, unleashing the Divine Thunder Annihilation from Thundercloud Lightning Sword’s third form had drained him completely. Any other cultivator would’ve collapsed after breaking through the Anger Slash.

"Qu Yiping," Ye Yun stepped forward coldly, "Did you imagine this outcome when opposing me repeatedly?"

The fallen cultivator laughed maniacally. "The cultivation path runs red with betrayal! Blood flows freely for resources and techniques. Even kin blocking my advancement deserve death!"

"Pathetic." Ye Yun shook his head. He’d never understood Qu Yiping’s compulsive scheming against anyone showing potential.

Shouldn’t sect brothers support each other’s cultivation?

"Stop blathering," Qu Yiping leaned on his dark blade. "Kill me or don’t."

The Purple Shadow Sword rippled in Ye Yun’s grip as Su Ling materialized beside him.

Retrieving his blade into the Thunder Sound Metamorphosis ring, Ye Yun sighed. "Merely exhausted."

"Spare him?" The girl tugged his sleeve.

Though not bloodthirsty, Ye Yun knew mercy wasted on villains. Yet Su Ling persisted: "Let sect regulations punish him. Killing him now brands you a kin-slayer."

Ye Yun scoffed. "Since when does our sect punish internal strife? The great tomb’s halls run red daily!"

"The sect’s negligence doesn’t excuse yours." Su Ling whispered urgently, "With your treasures, stay low-key. Meet my father after returning – I foresee storms awaiting you."

Nodding reluctantly, Ye Yun conceded. "His cultivation’s broken. I’ll claim Seven Absolute Devil’s Blade."

Approaching the defeated man, Duan Chenfeng warned: "At least cripple him properly."

"No need." Ye Yun reached for the dark blade.

A mocking voice sliced through the air: "Sentimental weakness! You cultivate failure – let me finish this!"
