Chapter 7: I Greedily Want to Have Everything (2)
Little Finger Twirling was a cultivation method with an unexpected special effect: breast enlargement.
While not particularly valuable—worth only two or three points of Soft Skills—it indicated that the risk of Task 1 wasn’t high. Yet, Bai Lian couldn’t afford to lower her guard.
Attempting it once might not be an issue, but repeated attempts could lead to an undesirable outcome. A bad ending was the last thing she wanted.
With that in mind, she decisively chose Task 2.
Task 3? That would feel too much like she was hiding something or feeling guilty.
She turned her gaze to Xiao Jinse.
“The second Martial Sister…”
“Hmm?”
Su Youwei pursed her lips as she watched. She felt a pang of regret—if only she hadn’t cheated to win first place during the trial. Perhaps she could’ve been the one to accompany Elder Martial Sister Bai Lian right now.
Next time…
No. Forget it.
Given Elder Martial Sister Bai Lian’s new rules, she couldn’t deliberately fail next time.
Her eyes narrowed at Xiao Jinse.
You better know your place. Lie down and accept defeat, or I’ll kick your butt!
On that day, Su Youwei silently made a “grand wish.”
Meanwhile, Yu Ying clenched her fists.
Her focus on overcoming the second level of the Original Dragon’s test had slowed her cultivation progress. Now, she was determined to work harder to catch up.
—
Bai Lian led Xiao Jinse to a quiet hillside.
The mountain wind rustled through the empty forest, creating whispers that seemed to come from the trees themselves.
Bai Lian murmured a spell, and with a flash of light, dozens of flying swords emerged from her chest.
Whoosh! Whoosh!
The swords formed a shimmering cage.
“Second Martial Sister, let me see your strength,” Bai Lian said.
Xiao Jinse hesitated.
“This…”
Bai Lian reassured her.
“I’ll limit my cultivation to the early stage of the Golden Core Stage.”
Reluctantly, Xiao Jinse nodded.
Her hesitation wasn’t due to fear—she simply didn’t want to fight Elder Martial Sister Bai Lian. She couldn’t imagine ever raising her sword against her.
A heavy black sword materialized in Xiao Jinse’s hand.
“Blowing Snow Sword!”
Bai Lian, seeing her readiness, picked up an ordinary sword.
—
The battle began.
Bai Lian moved first, swiftly gaining the upper hand with a decisive strike.
Within moments, she pinpointed Xiao Jinse’s weaknesses and exploited them with precision. After just a few exchanges, Xiao Jinse’s heavy sword clattered to the ground.
Clang!
Unarmed, Xiao Jinse was left vulnerable.
Though she tried to adapt, Bai Lian’s overwhelming skill was too much for her. The battle was like a storm, and Xiao Jinse was a fragile boat caught in its chaos.
Every move Bai Lian made left her struggling to keep up. As the relentless attacks continued, Xiao Jinse grew weary. Her breathing became ragged, and her strength faltered.
“I… I can’t…”
Bai Lian sighed and shook her head.
“You’re not weak, but you lack refinement.”
With a final thrust, Bai Lian ended the battle.
—
Xiao Jinse was caught off guard by the sharp, decisive blow. She felt a flash of pain in her abdomen, as though a wave had finally broken through her defenses and flooded her ship.
“Ah—”
She staggered back, falling to the ground. Her face was flushed, and her body was drenched in sweat.
The autumn wind whispered through the trees as Bai Lian calmly sheathed her sword.
For the first time, Bai Lian had drawn blood from one of her Martial Sisters.
She stepped forward and crouched beside Xiao Jinse.
“I’m sorry.”
Reaching out, Bai Lian gently pressed her hand against Xiao Jinse’s abdomen. Warmth radiated from her palm, spreading through Xiao Jinse’s body like a soothing tide.
Beneath Bai Lian’s hand, red flowers of healing energy seemed to bloom, dispelling the pain and leaving behind a comforting sense of calm.
Xiao Jinse’s thoughts wandered.
If only time could stop here… Could I reach the highest place in the sky with Elder Martial Sister Bai Lian by my side?
Bai Lian’s voice broke through her reverie.
“I think it’s my fault,” she said softly. “At first, I was running away. But now that I’ve come to want all of this so greedily, perhaps I deserve punishment.”
“Elder Martial Sister…”
Xiao Jinse looked up into Bai Lian’s eyes.
In the past, Bai Lian’s gaze had been as calm and still as a frozen winter lake, hiding her true emotions. But now, Xiao Jinse saw something new—a ripple of sadness, like waves breaking the lake’s surface.
Her heart ached.
Elder Martial Sister must be disappointed in me.
A deep sorrow filled Xiao Jinse as she gazed at Bai Lian.
She felt as though she had forgotten something important, something buried deep within her memories.
But what was it?
She closed her eyes, lost in thought.
