Chapter 42: Yan Yue: Then You Raise Me! (1)
While Bai Lian carried the stone tablet, An Lan sneered and pressed Yan Yue’s stomach.
This was the Lower Dantian, the root of human vitality, the base of life, and the meeting point of yin and yang.
Ha-ha.
“I’ll draw a mark for you right here. If you sneak close to Bai Lian in the future, I’ll know immediately. Let’s see how you try to do ‘evil’ again!”
An Lan quickly drew a magic circle, using her finger as the pen and spirit Qi as the ink.
The magic circle was placed near Yan Yue’s Dantian. It flickered briefly before disappearing. With Yan Yue’s current strength, she wouldn’t even notice it.
—
“Master.”
Soon, Bai Lian arrived with the stone tablet balanced on her shoulder. She noticed it was a tombstone.
The words on the tombstone weren’t engraved but written in indelible paint:
[Tomb of Gong Xuexin of Yuding Temple]
It was obvious this tombstone hadn’t been created by the Duxian Sect.
Yuding Temple—wasn’t that the Taoist temple that led Gong Xuexin to the path of cultivation? But if Bai Lian remembered correctly, that Taoist temple had been destroyed long ago.
And this tablet…
“Why does it look so familiar?”
An Lan took the tablet from her and said, “This is an integral piece of the tablet you brought back from Canglong Garden.”
“!?”
Bai Lian’s thoughts raced.
Wasn’t this part of the Sansheng Stele fragment?
As Bai Lian tried to make sense of it, An Lan had already moved on. She wasn’t about to let Yan Yue remain “sick” like this.
Hum!
After all, to find this tombstone made of Sansheng Stele, she had gone through considerable trouble.
Sigh… I deserve to eat more melons later as a reward, An Lan thought.
Her gaze fell on the peacefully sleeping Yan Yue.
Remember to thank me when you wake up. And plead guilty. Oh, and stay away from Bai Lian!
—
Under the night sky, An Lan extended her right hand.
Soft, white light enveloped both Yan Yue and the tombstone. A gentle suction force acted on Yan Yue, causing her to twist uneasily in her dreams.
“Don’t move,” An Lan growled, delivering two firm slaps to the outside of Yan Yue’s buttocks.
Pappa.
Even while asleep, Yan Yue was dreaming of seducing Bai Lian! Truly, this woman was incorrigible.
After the slaps, Yan Yue finally settled down.
An Lan focused intently on “curing” Yan Yue. There wasn’t any dazzling display of magic, but Bai Lian couldn’t understand the technique nonetheless.
On the one hand, Bai Lian was a superficial observer.
On the other hand, An Lan’s medical skills were extraordinarily profound.
It was natural that Bai Lian found it all incomprehensible.
—
After a long time, An Lan withdrew her hand, and the warm white light dissipated like fireflies.
“Master Yan Yue…” Bai Lian began hesitantly.
An Lan waved her hand dismissively. “She’ll be fine.”
Yan Yue’s eyelids fluttered slightly, opening and closing several times before “Sleeping Beauty” finally woke from her long dream.
The night sky remained clear, the stars twinkling.
But Yan Yue paid no attention to the sky. Her gaze immediately locked onto Bai Lian.
With the strength of someone in the Transcendency Stage, Yan Yue instantly understood this wasn’t a dream.
She had awakened, and most of her depression was gone…
It had to be because of Bai Lian.
“Bai Lian!”
Yan Yue leaped up, reaching out to pull Bai Lian into her embrace.
Suddenly, a petite figure dashed out from the side.
Before Yan Yue could react, she found herself pushed down again.
—
An Lan appeared before her, breathless.
“Ah ↑ ah ↑ ah ↑!”
If An Lan were a Saiyan, her hair would already have turned golden.
How dare Yan Yue try to hug Bai Lian in front of her?
When I punched Witch Queen and shattered the Abyss of Heaven, who dared to challenge me?
Humph.
If Yan Yue dared to take another step, the heavens and earth might as well collapse!
An Lan glared at Yan Yue, her aura so imposing that it truly frightened her rival.
Here we go again, Bai Lian thought, a headache forming.
Shifu, you obviously care about Master Yan Yue. Why do you keep making things so messy?
Sigh.
Let me mediate again.
Bai Lian stepped forward and said with a smile, “Master Yan Yue, just listen to Shifu. You’ve only just recovered and shouldn’t be moving so much yet.”
“Huh?”
Yan Yue froze for a moment, but her sharp mind quickly pieced things together.
So An Lan was concerned about her after all! That explained why her eyes looked so wide and fierce just now.
—
The atmosphere improved.
Bai Lian squeezed herself between An Lan and Yan Yue, smiling warmly.
“Master Yan Yue, it’s all thanks to Shifu. She was the one who found the tombstone with Gong Xuexin’s name and worked tirelessly to wake you up.”
“Is… is that true?”
Guilt crept over Yan Yue.
She had assumed Bai Lian was the one who woke her. If she’d blurted that out earlier, it would’ve disappointed An Lan immensely.
“Hmph, of course it’s true,” An Lan said with a proud snort.
She added, “The stone tablet with Gong Xuexin’s name is a Past Stele.”
Yan Yue blinked in confusion.
“What’s a Past Stele?”
An Lan rolled her eyes. “Don’t you know anything?”
And so, An Lan explained:
“The Sansheng Stele is a divine artifact linked to the Great Tao of Reincarnation. After being broken, it split into three steles: the Past Stele, the Present Stele, and the Next Life Stele. Even in its damaged state, the Sansheng Stele retains many miraculous abilities.”
Yan Yue nodded blankly. “So… I was Gong Xuexin in a past life, reincarnated as Yan Yue because my name was engraved on the Past Stele?”
An Lan scoffed. “No. That’s not how it works.”
She paused for a moment.
