Chapter 33: Yet, Bai Lian Had Already Seen Through It All (2)
An Lan furrowed her brows.
“It’s only been a year since she last broke through. What’s the rush?”
She said this, but despite her words, she let go of her Divine Sense and checked the jade rabbit’s body.
Bai Lian held her breath, remaining silent.
She noticed her master’s face looked unusually grim.
Is there truly a serious issue? Her cultivation base is no small feat, and yet she couldn’t sense anything out of the ordinary.
Bai Lian quietly asked, “Master, can it be cured?”
An Lan didn’t respond immediately; she seemed to be lost in thought, searching for the right answer.
After a few moments, she suddenly stood up, anger flashing in her eyes.
“No wonder she’s gained so much weight recently. She’s nearly eaten all the Spiritual Herbs from the medicine garden!”
“Oh.”
Rabbit!
In the end, it was simply a fool consumed by desire!
Bai Lian just stared, speechless.
She had been a step too slow to notice.
A few seconds later, An Lan brought the jade rabbit back inside.
“Haw haw (I was wrong!)”
“Haw haw (I won’t do it again!)”
Two rulers floated in the air, alternating as they landed heavy whacks on the jade rabbit’s bottom.
The jade rabbit, having already experienced An Lan’s “ferocity,” immediately raised its paws and ears in surrender.
Despite this, An Lan still continued to beat her for nearly a quarter of an hour.
The jade rabbit sadly crouched on the ground.
“Alright, you can get out now. There’s nothing wrong with you.”
“Huh?”
After a brief pause, the jade rabbit joyously hopped away.
This beatdown was well-deserved!
After bidding farewell, Bai Lian also left.
—
Inside the cave, An Lan was still fuming.
Even the jade rabbit had joined the dinner, yet Bai Lian hadn’t called her when they were eating.
Thinking this way, she crushed the corn stalks in her hands.
Then, with a slight flicker of her Divine Sense, it flew out and followed Bai Lian into her room.
She stared intently.
She saw Bai Lian sitting at the table, taking out a piece of paper to start writing and drawing.
It seemed like she was planning training schedules for several other disciples?
At that moment, An Lan’s ears twitched lightly.
Something was squeezing in!
And that something was surprisingly powerful.
It pushed through three magic circles in succession, eventually breaking deep into the Qiongming Peak.
“Hmph, how dare you do such a shameful thing in front of me!”
An Lan let out a cold grunt.
—
In the dark night,
Yue Wuyang swiftly navigated the ridges of Qiongming Peak.
Her expression was grim, weighed down with worry.
She had already anticipated that the task her master had given her would be difficult, but she never expected that she would encounter trouble so quickly.
She had come across her old enemy in pursuit of the target!
Yue Wuyang never imagined that her “killer” would also be reincarnated into the East Divine Land.
Since arriving in this lower realm, her strength had been halved, and it had been continuously suppressed by the world’s laws.
Now, her strength was stronger than the Mahayana Stage but still beneath the Transmigration Stage.
To confront that enemy with this level of power seemed like a madman’s dream.
Yue Wuyang had to turn and leave.
However, she was far from ready to give up.
She thought of Bai Lian.
Bai Lian had once been an Immortal Emperor and had lived in this world for many years.
Working with Bai Lian could prove to be a lucrative idea.
First, she needed to gauge Bai Lian’s attitude.
After gathering information about the Duxian Sect and Bai Lian, Yue Wuyang quickly snuck in.
“I’m almost there.”
Bypassing a forbidden magic array, Yue Wuyang landed on a peculiar stone.
She could already see Bai Lian’s room from here.
The magic arrays surrounding it were dense but mostly made up of rudimentary shielding magic.
Yue Wuyang’s understanding of magic arrays was ordinary, but her cultivation base was high enough that these barriers couldn’t possibly stop her.
She was getting in!
At that very moment, she suddenly sensed a strange ripple in the air.
Oof!
Power surged like a fountain, splashing across her face.
“Oh no.”
Yue Wuyang’s face changed drastically.
She realized her body was dissolving and desperately tried to channel her spirit Qi to resist, but she found that her spirit Qi had been completely neutralized.
If she continued like this, death was inevitable.
It was Bai Lian!
Only Bai Lian, who had once been an Immortal Emperor, possessed this ability!
Yue Wuyang was frightened, her heart gripped with dread.
Had she known this beforehand, she wouldn’t have dared to sneak in.
To stay alive, she had no choice but to beg for mercy.
“White Emperor Bai Lian, I am Yue Wuyang. I mean no harm. Please show mercy and spare my life!”
Someone who knows Bai Lian?
After hesitating for a while, An Lan finally withdrew her power.
She wanted to see why Yue Wuyang had come to Bai Lian.
Puff
Yue Wuyang sighed in relief as she escaped the dangerous predicament.
That was too close.
With a gloomy expression, she flew toward Bai Lian’s room.
She now only hoped Bai Lian would take it easy on her.
