Chapter 17: Bai Lian Is Not Inferior to Anyone! (2)
Seeing the concern in Bai Lian’s eyes, the eldest princess felt a sense of comfort wash over her.
She stood up.
“Do what you need to do!” she said, addressing Bai Lian with determination.
“But you…” Bai Lian couldn’t help but worry.
She had witnessed many similar scenes before. The injured person would smile and say they were fine, only to pass away shortly after. How heartbreaking.
The eldest princess, however, easily understood Bai Lian’s thoughts.
Thank you, Bai Lian!
You’ve made me realize how wonderful it is to have someone to rely on.
You’ve shown me the happiness of being cared for.
It is you who have made me understand that giving up is not the end of everything.
Though the eldest princess had always thought Bai Lian looked cold, she now felt that, just like others, her body was warm—warmer than anyone else’s.
She wanted to move closer, to continue basking in the warmth of Bai Lian’s presence.
But she couldn’t—not yet.
She didn’t want to burden Bai Lian.
So, she had to fight.
Her mind remained a secret, but in this moment, she knew what she had to do.
The eldest princess raised her right sleeve, letting the evening wind from the window brush against her face.
In that instant, she overcame all of her doubts and fears.
A faint starlight began rising from the ground, spreading out like vines wrapping around her.
The wind grew stronger.
With each breath, the starlight illuminated the room more brightly, and the eldest princess she had once known returned.
She stepped confidently upon the Milky Way, her smile radiant, as if nothing in the world could stand in her way.
“Do you think I would be one of those people who end their life because of a setback?”
She flashed a confident smile.
She was the eldest princess of Heluo, the greatest genius of Xingluo Fortress!
“Instead of worrying about me, you should focus on yourself!”
Bai Lian almost nodded in agreement.
But then she remembered the fourth Martial Sister was nearby.
Cough.
She was a good woman!
Bai Lian grinned. “Actually, I have a better idea!”
Isn’t it all about putting on a good show?
Although I’ve never been invincible in the world, I’ll never fall behind when it comes to Special Effects!
Nobody knows more about Special Effects than I do!
Here we go.
“Dharma body, come forth!”
Bai Lian’s eyes seemed to sparkle with stars as she activated the True Secret of 500 Million Dharma Bodies hidden within her.
Her spiritual Qi surged like a river.
In an instant, the Water-spirit Special Effect manifested around the Milky Way the eldest princess had stepped upon.
A romantic wave spread out rapidly, connecting into ribbons that flew through the air. Even the real Milky Way above seemed to pale in comparison to these ribbons.
Soon, under their guidance, water columns adorned with colorful lights began to shoot up from the ground.
The eldest princess’s room transformed into a crystal palace, bathed in the beautiful glow of these columns of water.
The scene looked like a dream—colorful and ethereal.
The eldest princess stood there, mesmerized.
She watched as another version of Bai Lian slowly emerged from the heart of this Crystal Palace.
At that moment, a divine beast resembling a white deer, with four majestic horns, playfully ran through the air, sprinkling pearls and jade as though celebrating the birth of a king.
“How do you like it?” Bai Lian asked confidently, glancing back at the eldest princess.
She held a scroll in her hand, a smile on her face.
Though the smile was not as dazzling as the grand spectacle around them, it was the most genuine and natural smile the eldest princess had ever seen from Bai Lian.
“You will be fine,” Bai Lian said with confidence, “and so will Heluo!”
The eldest princess stood speechless, still in awe.
She believed in Bai Lian, but…
She suddenly felt something welling up inside her.
In the next moment, Bai Lian gently crushed the conveying reel.
Surrounded by the radiant lights, she whispered softly to the eldest princess,
“Wait for me to return.”
Her voice flowed like water, entering the eldest princess’s ears, then permeating her heart, and spreading throughout her entire body.
Boom!
In that instant, as Bai Lian vanished from sight, the eldest princess remembered what she had told her earlier—
[I find that I like you!]
