Chapter 5: I’m Willing to Be Addicted to Elder Martial Sister Bai Lian! (1)
The internal demon felt that a new demon was about to emerge from her heart.
This realization made her nervous.
Su Youwei had accepted her because they had shared two lives together. But if another internal demon began to manifest, such acceptance could not be guaranteed. After all, one Su Youwei would never split into three!
When had this change begun?
The internal demon sat huddled at the edge of her “world,” hugging her knees with an expressionless face, lost in thought.
Then she remembered.
It was the day Elder Martial Sister Bai Lian had been controlled by Mu Yisheng.
The insidious and cunning mirror spirit had launched a sudden sneak attack on Elder Martial Sister Bai Lian. Overcome with rage, she had rushed out of the master’s cave, her eyes bloodshot, and reduced the broken mirror spirit to ashes.
It had been exhilarating.
But the relief was quickly replaced by deep fear.
She had returned to the dark world within the Ten Thousand Poison Pearl.
What once felt warm now seemed like a cold, unending abyss.
That was when the internal demon realized something terrifying—she had lost control when killing the mirror spirit.
As the embodiment of violence within Su Youwei, she had been born to kill. Even after becoming the spirit of the Ten Thousand Poison Pearl, killing remained her primary purpose.
Su Youwei stood in the sunlight, while she remained in the shadows.
They supported each other, fighting for Elder Martial Sister Bai Lian.
What a beautiful dream.
But all of it had been shattered by her loss of control.
Where there was a first time, there would inevitably be a second. If the desire to kill completely consumed her, she would become like the Su Youwei of her previous life—a Shura, drenched in blood, wielding her sword amidst a sea of carnage.
That future was something the internal demon refused to accept.
While she didn’t entirely reject killing—it was, after all, the foundation of her existence—she dreaded becoming a monster. If that were to happen, how could she ever remain by Elder Martial Sister Bai Lian’s side?
Elder Martial Sister Bai Lian was revered as a Natural Saint.
Her surname symbolized her purity; her name reflected her nature.
What would the world think of Bai Lian if they discovered that her “sister” had bloodstained hands, driven by an insatiable lust for violence?
Perhaps Elder Martial Sister Bai Lian wouldn’t care.
But she would care.
The thought of tarnishing Bai Lian’s reputation filled her with despair.
The more she dwelled on this, the more trapped she felt, as if she had entered a dead end.
And then the “hallucinations” began.
These visions were vivid and cruel, though she couldn’t comprehend their source.
In the illusions, she sometimes saw herself slicing the second Elder Martial Sister’s body in half, decapitating the fourth Martial Sister, and plunging the entire Duxian Sect into a bloody massacre. Eventually, she would see herself stripping Elder Martial Sister Bai Lian in a river of blood.
At other times, she was severely injured by the second and fourth Martial Sisters, along with an unfamiliar bun-haired girl. Fleeing for her life, she would kidnap the gravely wounded Elder Martial Sister Bai Lian. When night fell, she would lock Bai Lian in chains and…
And then there were other, equally tormenting visions.
Sometimes, Elder Martial Sister Bai Lian appeared joyous in these illusions, but more often than not, she was in pain.
If it had been only joy, perhaps it would have been tolerable.
But alas…
The internal demon sighed.
In short, the “illusions” were nothing more than countless images of her bullying Elder Martial Sister Bai Lian.
They were violent, twisted, and utterly *abhorrent!
[*inspiring disgust and loathing; repugnant.]
The internal demon dared not dwell on them any longer.
She was already teetering on the edge of degeneration. If she continued to indulge in these illusions, she would surely lose herself entirely.
She tried to isolate herself completely from the outside world.
So, when Su Youwei called out to her, she ignored it.
It was better for her to bear this pain alone. She couldn’t drag Su Youwei into the abyss with her.
But it was so cold.
In this dark, desolate world, the internal demon’s body trembled faintly.
She could actually feel the temperature.
At some point, a soft clatter reached her ears.
The internal demon raised her head, staring blankly toward the source of the sound. Emerging from the darkness was a single long, white leg.
The internal demon immediately recognized it.
It was Elder Martial Sister Bai Lian’s leg!
“Younger Martial Sister.”
As expected.
After breaking through the darkness, Bai Lian’s voice followed, and soon, Bai Lian herself stood before her.
No, this had to be an illusion—a trap to seduce her into depravity!
The internal demon clenched her teeth, stubbornly averting her gaze from Bai Lian.
“Huh?”
Bai Lian was taken aback.
The Third Martial Sister was right. There really was a significant problem with this “3.5th Martial Sister.”
Without hesitation, Bai Lian sat down beside the internal demon. She stretched out her right leg, bent her left, and let her hand rest lightly on her knee.
“What happened?” Bai Lian asked gently. “If you’re in trouble, just tell me.”
Illusion! Don’t even think about deceiving me!
The internal demon remained silent.
“?”
Bai Lian furrowed her brow. She got up, squatted in front of the internal demon, hugged her knees, and stared at her intently—like one might observe an angry black cat.
Stare.
Keep staring.
Go away. Just go away!
The internal demon resisted the urge to push Bai Lian away, barely holding herself back.
Even if it was an illusion, it still looked like Elder Martial Sister Bai Lian. How could she show disrespect to Bai Lian?
Instead, she turned 90 degrees, deliberately ignoring Bai Lian’s gaze.
“Hmm…”
Bai Lian suspected that the internal demon was upset with her.
She needed to act.
But what would work?
After some thought, Bai Lian decided to take a more direct approach.
Without warning, she stepped forward and embraced the internal demon. The internal demon’s startled eyes widened as Bai Lian spoke softly into her ear.
“Did I hurt you somehow? If I did, I’m sorry.”
No, that wasn’t it.
The internal demon’s body trembled violently.
Her face began to turn red, like a freshly boiled lobster, and steam practically rose from her head.
This illusion was too much!
She had almost succumbed to this shameless ploy.
No, she had to stand firm!
