Chapter 4: The Third Martial Sister Feels Stable (1)
There was still some time before evening.
After carefully dividing the medicinal pills “sent” by Ji Shi and the Blood Tree Patriarch into four portions, Bai Lian decided to take a leisurely stroll around the Duxian Sect.
She wasn’t wandering in search of system tasks. In truth, with her current strength, it was nearly impossible to trigger tasks from other disciples.
After all, they posed no threat to her. Even their masters likely weren’t strong enough to challenge her. Not every master in the sect had reached the Transcendency Stage, after all.
With Bai Lian’s “hardness,” she could make ordinary cultivators cry with a single punch.
Her walk was less about tasks and more about savoring the scenery of Qiongming Peak, a place she had called home for many years.
Everything along the way was picturesque, except for the occasional interruption from Qingyu Peak.
“Shifu, I was wrong! I’ll never dare to do it again, I swear!”
It was Tong Yao’s voice, accompanied by soft sobbing.
Then came Master Qin’s stern reply.
“Again? What did you promise me back at the Snow Sea? You said you’d never make me angry again!”
“…”
Tong Yao, now hanging upside down, looked utterly dejected.
Master, I wasn’t ‘stealing.’ I was just ‘borrowing.’ After all, I’m your disciple!
“Master, abstaining from alcohol isn’t something that can be achieved overnight. It’s a long-term effort, and temporary setbacks are normal.”
“How dare you make excuses!”
The heated scolding continued, peppered with phrases like “confinement,” “no meals,” and “break your legs if you dare do it again.”
Qingyu Peak was, as usual, full of lively energy.
Bai Lian couldn’t help but smile. She understood.
This is what they mean by ‘nature cannot be changed.’
For cultivators, the goal of “cultivation” isn’t to completely eradicate human desires. After all, the pursuit of power and the understanding of the world’s essence are desires in themselves.
Cultivation is about controlling those desires.
In all things, balance is key.
Excessive indulgence can lead to physical and mental exhaustion—or even death.
With these thoughts in mind, Bai Lian turned and headed back toward Qiongming Peak.
The Duxian Sect remained peaceful today.
But Bai Lian understood why she could enjoy such peace and roam freely here. It wasn’t because she was powerful, but because the predecessors of the Duxian Sect had paved the way for her.
Bai Lian was a grateful person.
Though she couldn’t yet make Shifu and Master Yan Yue any happier, she could still ensure her younger Martial Sisters had a brighter future.
That was the second purpose of the night classes—
Inheritance!
Night had fallen.
Bai Lian stroked the pendant resting against her chest as she confidently stepped into her room.
Younger Martial Sisters, let me ignite the fire in your hearts and help illuminate the night ahead!
By nine o’clock, the class began on time.
Bai Lian stood at the front of the room, holding a slender wooden stick, with a makeshift whiteboard behind her.
Dong dong.
She tapped the whiteboard to draw the attention of her younger Martial Sisters, the jade rabbit, and even An Lan, who was quietly hiding outside the window.
“Before we begin the formal lesson, I need to assess your recent progress,” Bai Lian announced.
At these words, Su Youwei’s drowsiness vanished instantly.
She was the first among the three Martial Sisters to break through to the Golden Core Stage! Though the second Martial Sister was close to a breakthrough, it didn’t matter.
No one can change the fact that I was the first, she thought proudly.
Following Bai Lian’s instructions, the three Martial Sisters lined up. One by one, Bai Lian infused her spirit Qi into their bodies to examine their condition.
Her spirit Qi was as strong and steady as a dragon. As it flowed through them, she could clearly assess their progress.
“Not bad,” she remarked with a nod.
To her surprise, it was the fourth Martial Sister, Yu Ying, who impressed her the most. Despite having a lower cultivation base than the others, Yu Ying executed her cultivation method with precision and ease.
Her cultivation speed was faster, too. However…
Bai Lian gently patted Yu Ying’s head.
“Learn to pace yourself,” she advised. “If you push too hard and damage your foundation just to increase your speed, it will be difficult to recover in the future.”
“Hm,” Yu Ying murmured, nodding earnestly.
At first, she felt a little awkward being touched by her Elder Martial Sister, but it quickly became something she enjoyed. Bai Lian’s touch made her feel acknowledged and valued.
Besides, Elder Martial Sister Bai Lian’s hands were so soft—like ice cream that would melt with a single lick.
She began to wonder: What would Elder Martial Sister Bai Lian’s feet feel like? They must be just as soft, melting under the touch…
Shaking off her thoughts, Yu Ying focused back on the class as Bai Lian moved to dispense the medicinal pills.
Thanks to her earlier preparations, it didn’t take Bai Lian long to distribute them.
“If all goes as planned, these pills should be enough to help you break through to the Nascent Soul Stage,” she said confidently.
Finally, her gaze landed on Xiao Jinse.
The second Martial Sister carried the heaviest burden. She ranked second, yet her cultivation base lagged behind the third Martial Sister’s. On top of that, she was bound by a ten-year commitment.
In the game, Xiao Jinse’s defining moment came when she ventured into the Yunshan Mountains of Yingzhou after reaching the later stages of the Soul Changing Stage.
She was confronted by a group of powerful cultivators at the Soul Changing Stage, along with several at the Transcendency Stage. However, with her special constitution and the dual advantages of the Sky Fire Mysterious Skill and the Holy Spirit Flame, she managed to disable the Supreme Elder of the Sword Washing Pavilion after a bloody battle.
Such a devastating blow left the Sword Washing Pavilion as the last remaining sect in Yingzhou. The flowing blood and burning flames solidified the second Martial Sister’s title: “Holy Spirit Goddess.”
However, the key to her strength lay in the hardships the second Martial Sister endured throughout the game. Her cultivation base grew quickly because of the numerous trials she faced. Her talent was “low,” and she only raised her Spiritual Root level by slowly working on it alone. She lacked cultivation resources and could only gather medical pills and spirit stones by accepting dangerous tasks.
Bai Lian deeply admired the second Martial Sister. She was a true goddess! Even amidst such darkness, she still carried light in her heart, only succumbing to evil in a few alternate game routes.
In contrast, the third Martial Sister was much easier to “yield.”
After offering her admonishments to the second and third Martial Sisters, Bai Lian gently removed her shoes, socks, and skirt under the flickering light of the candle.
There was no choice. Her Tao Halo effect had reached her thigh after upgrading.
However, to the disappointment of the second and third Martial Sisters, Bai Lian was also wearing a short skirt underneath.
She had come prepared!
Bai Lian sat down, and everyone gathered in a circle, like curious scholars eager to ask questions.
Next came the self-study session.
Bai Lian only needed to quietly read a book that her younger Martial Sisters could also benefit from. She began running the cultivation method, and the Water Spirit Special Effect automatically activated.
The surrounding spirit Qi in the air turned into a wave, rushing around Bai Lian’s body.
To Bai Lian’s surprise, the Water Spirit Special Effect seemed to be bound with the Fu Zhu Special Effect. Both activated simultaneously, and together, they created a brilliant rainbow-like spray in the air.
Poof—
The air was filled with water, and Xiao Jinse, who was wrapped in the mist, felt as if she were soaking in a hot spring.
Elder Martial Sister Bai Lian sat silently, unmoving, yet she felt as if a graceful figure was dancing gently in the misty rain.
Elder Martial Sister Bai Lian’s figure—
Elegant as a swan, graceful as a dragon.
The dance of Elder Martial Sister Bai Lian—
Like the wind above the clouds, yet also like the water at the edge of a willow pond.
Xiao Jinse’s breath became quick, and her cheeks flushed with warmth.
