Chapter 4: The Fight Between Elder Martial Sister Bai Lian and Her Master! (1)
White water mist suddenly erupted in the cold, damp cave.
The rapid warming of the air caused the mist to form.
Sitting cross-legged on the stone bed, An Lan felt as though she had stepped into a sauna. The fog left her face and body damp, her figure hazy amidst the swirling mist.
But this strange moment didn’t last long.
Lost in thought, An Lan accidentally bumped into the cave wall.
“Oh, oh, oh!”
She screamed, clutching her head, rolling on the stone bed like the Monkey King bound by the Tight Enchantment.
It’s so hot…
Her lips felt warm. Her cheeks felt warm. Her neck was warm. Her chest was warm. She felt warm all over.
The word “hot” consumed her thoughts entirely.
If it stayed like this, maybe rolling a few more times would cool her down. Fortunately, the magic array surrounding the cave ensured no one outside could witness this absurd scene.
But something felt off.
The text… it was overlapping. The same words kept repeating.
An Lan froze, her body stiffening like a boiled shrimp.
Suddenly, those lifeless, overlapping words transformed in her mind. They began taking shape—turning into human-like forms that seemed to creep toward her.
A sense of dread gripped her.
She jumped out of bed, frantically waving her hands.
“Remove them, take them away!”
But the more she panicked, the hotter she felt. Her efforts only made things worse.
It was hopeless. She had completely lost control of her body.
Something deep inside her was about to break free.
“Ah ah ah ah!”
After a peculiar tangle of movements, An Lan stopped abruptly.
Yet despite her resistance, the shape of “death” morphed into none other than Bai Lian.
With a cocked head and teary eyes, Bai Lian’s figure seemed to mock her.
Pop.
An Lan collapsed onto the stone bed, utterly defeated.
Her divine sense had fully transformed into Bai Lian’s image.
The cave became eerily silent.
An Lan, clad in only thin clothes and trousers, glanced around at the disarray. Everything on the bed had been thrown to the ground. Bottles and jars on nearby shelves were toppled.
It looked as if a fierce battle had just taken place here.
And in truth, it had—a battle against herself.
After a long while, An Lan clenched her right fist, casting a spell to seal the entire cave.
Finally, the unbearable heat began to subside.
Her gaze fell on the stone bed beneath her.
She gritted her teeth.
Living for tens of thousands of years, she had never imagined that her first kiss would be given to her first disciple—because of this damn bed!
Her face burned with shame and fury.
“Damn you! It’s all your fault, you broken bed!”
An Lan’s divine sense sharpened like a blade, carving a hole straight into the bed. Now, surrounded by stone walls, there was no chance of slipping off again.
She calmly lay down.
But barely a second later, she jumped up again, glaring at the bed.
“If I add another board…”
Her thoughts paused.
“Why does it look like a sarcophagus?”
Frustrated, she restored the bed to its original state with a wave of her hand.
Sitting back down, she leaned against the wall. The sealed cave was dark and eerily quiet.
A faint coolness crept up her neck, like an invisible hand stroking her skin.
Startled, An Lan pressed her lips with her index finger.
“…”
This feeling—this strange, unfamiliar sensation—left her utterly flustered.
Desperate to calm herself, she conjured glasses of water out of thin air, gulping them down. She retrieved a slice of watermelon from her storage ring and began chewing furiously.
Da da da…
But even the water tasted off today, and the watermelon lacked its usual sweetness.
“This is so boring!”
In her frustration, An Lan split the half-meter-high melon peel cleanly in half with her palm.
Unable to contain her anger, she stormed out of the cave, a large knife suddenly appearing in her hand.
Her mood was terrible. She needed an outlet. Perhaps slaughtering a few demons would do the trick.
In the dead of night, a fiery streak shot across the sky above Qiongming Peak, heading straight for the moon like a blazing arrow.
—
The summit of Qiongming Peak.
The jade rabbit, panting heavily from her frantic escape, gestured wildly at Xiao Jinse and Su Youwei.
“Haw haw!”
She pointed toward the forbidden area with her paw, her anxiety clear.
Xiao Jinse and Su Youwei exchanged a puzzled glance.
“Hey, we don’t understand what you mean by ‘haw haw’!”
The jade rabbit scratched her head in frustration.
Then, she remembered—she could write!
Quickly, she painted a vivid picture with her gestures. Two figures, Bai Lian and An Lan, in the cave. Their names tangled together.
The jade rabbit demonstrated with exaggerated movements:
(╬ ̄皿 ̄)=○○=( ̄皿 ̄╬)
“Haw haw! They fought!”
Jumping and flailing her paws like a boxer, she mimicked the chaos she had witnessed.
Bang! Bang! Bang!
Finally, she pointed toward Bai Lian’s name before collapsing dramatically onto the ground.
Xiao Jinse and Su Youwei pieced it together.
For some reason, their master, An Lan, had gotten into a fight with Elder Martial Sister Bai Lian—and it seemed Bai Lian had been knocked down!
No wonder the jade rabbit was so panicked.
“No, I must stop Shifu!”
Xiao Jinse rolled up her sleeves and headed toward the forbidden area.
Su Youwei quickly followed, with the jade rabbit hopping along behind them.
As they approached the middle of Qiongming Peak, they spotted Bai Lian descending the path.
“Elder Martial Sister Bai Lian!”
They rushed toward her, surrounding her without hesitation.
Ignoring Bai Lian’s attempts to explain, they grabbed her hands, pinched her fingers, and even reached for her waist.
Just as one bold hand nearly landed on Bai Lian’s backside—
Slap!
A swift counter stopped it in its tracks.
“Move away!”
