Chapter 29: The Power of the White Emperor! (1)
Star Lords have limits.
But is it always true?
Maybe not.
Ji Shi never doubted Bai Lian’s identity. To him, Bai Lian was no mere Star Lord—she was an Immortal Emperor!
What should he call her?
White Emperor?
Emperor Bai Lian?
Saint Bai Lian?
It didn’t matter.
Names were irrelevant. What mattered was the grim reality before him—he was going to die.
When you offend the world, you can seek refuge beneath the Heavenly Thunder.
But to provoke an Immortal Emperor?
There’s no refuge, no salvation. It’s better to contemplate how to die with dignity.
Yet, Ji Shi refused.
Even though he knew he couldn’t defeat Bai Lian, he stubbornly refused to accept defeat. He had been so close—so close to becoming the Long River Immortal Emperor.
Had it not been for the Heaven and Earth Disaster during his birth year, he could have claimed the title.
Instead, he was reduced to hiding like a rat in the shadows.
The world was wrong—not him!
He would burst it apart, crush it entirely. The Great Tao will prevail!
As he sank deeper into his thoughts, his face twisted in rage.
On the other hand, the Snow Spirit Lord’s face twisted with shock.
“An Immortal Emperor? Bai Lian… their reincarnation?”
She clenched her fists so tightly that her fingers nearly broke.
Human Immortal.
Earth Immortal.
God Immortal.
Celestial Immortal…
And finally, the Immortal Emperor.
She counted on her fingers, trembling.
Unbelievable.
Who spread the rumor that Bai Lian was merely a reincarnated Star Lord?
It was utterly misleading!
But now, the Snow Spirit Lord couldn’t help but celebrate.
She had bet correctly!
Excitement surged through her as she clenched her fists tighter.
The battle between souls wasn’t just about spiritual Qi—it was also a contest of sheer willpower.
No matter how many spells Ji Shi had mastered, it was futile against Bai Lian, the reincarnation of an Immortal Emperor.
As for what Bai Lian might do to her later, the Snow Spirit Lord didn’t dare to think about it.
Would Bai Lian enslave her?
No, Bai Lian was too righteous for that. But even if she did, it was tolerable—because all that mattered now was survival.
“Come on, White Emperor,” she thought, “end this quickly and toss Ji Shi into oblivion!”
—
Bai Lian raised her fist.
The aura around her was dazzling, a spectacle so grand it drew everyone’s attention.
Her fist seemed ordinary at first, but when it struck Ji Shi’s cheek, the force was like a raging buffalo.
Pop!
The pain was excruciating.
Ji Shi’s soul shattered into countless fragments.
Then, moments later, his soul reassembled itself.
Suddenly, a gale swept across the sea.
Waves of radiant colors surged toward Bai Lian, surrounding her like a divine aura. They exalted her as the supreme deity who bridged ancient and modern times.
But it wasn’t over.
Bai Lian’s newly activated Fu Zhu Special Effect triggered.
Fu Zhu—the omen of a flood.
The once-calm sea erupted as hundreds of water columns shot skyward in an instant.
Pop! Pop! Pop!
The water splashed everywhere, drenching the Snow Spirit Lord and her avatars. She instinctively licked her lips.
“Ugh, salty!”
The Snow Spirit Lord rubbed her eyes vigorously, marveling at the sight before her.
The water columns formed a massive ring, creating an awe-inspiring, holy scene.
But within this sacred domain, she felt her strength suppressed by 10%.
“[Field],” she muttered. “This has to be the power of [Field]!”
Her pupils contracted as she recalled something—Bai Lian also wielded another [Field] connected to the stars and the moon.
Sure enough, a Painting of Stars and Moon emerged from Bai Lian’s fist. Within the makeshift glass jar created by the Fu Zhu and Water Rhythm effects, the painting unfurled like a divine scroll.
The sky was instantly adorned with countless stars.
Mastering two [Fields] simultaneously? That was almost unheard of.
But then again, Bai Lian wasn’t ordinary.
—
Bai Lian herself was taken aback.
“What nonsense is this? Immortal Emperor reincarnation?”
The title “Reincarnated Star Lord” was already annoying. If people started believing she was an Immortal Emperor’s reincarnation, her life would be overrun with challengers.
Wonderful. Just great.
She glared at Ji Shi. This was his fault.
Ji Shi had suppressed the Snow Spirit Lord earlier, so Bai Lian had assumed he was just a fraud wielding a “toy knife.”
But now…
“How dare you spread such rumors in front of the Snow Spirit Lord? I’ll make you pay!”
Her fists rained down mercilessly.
Punch after punch, Bai Lian’s attacks drove Ji Shi’s soul higher into the air.
The dazzling display of light and shadow made her moves look like an enhanced version of Ace Combat—visually breathtaking and utterly devastating.
Yet, no matter how much damage she inflicted, Ji Shi’s soul kept reassembling itself.
Bai Lian gritted her teeth in frustration.
“What is this? A fraudster with low strength but absurdly high HP?”
But even the toughest defenses could be broken.
—
Ji Shi had initially hoped his enhanced strength would give him an edge.
But seeing Bai Lian effortlessly wield two [Fields] simultaneously—even after her soul had left her body—he realized the truth.
He couldn’t win.
He could never defeat an Immortal Emperor.
There was no hope.
