Chapter 27: Bai Lian, You Set Me Up! (2)
The internal demon confronted the evil idea, speaking to it coldly.
The sword in her hand transformed into thousands of black silk threads, each one piercing the evil idea’s body.
The evil idea finally understood – this was the Ten Thousand Poison Pearl.
She had escaped from the Ten Thousand Poison Pearl with great difficulty. Why was it now in Su Youwei’s possession?
Her arrogance turned to fear.
This must be a trap deliberately set by Bai Lian.
She had been too careless!
The evil idea tried to run but could not even walk. Since walking was impossible, she would crawl!
But even crawling had become difficult.
Due to the internal demon’s attack, more and more toxins accumulated in her body.
When the toxins reached a critical mass, an explosive and corrosive energy burst forth.
This was a destructive force that even Celestial Immortals feared!
“Aaah!”
The evil idea screamed again.
She felt her body melting.
She couldn’t die. She didn’t want to die. Her wish hadn’t been fulfilled yet!
But her roars could not stop the black fire’s burning, and after a moment, calm returned to the Ten Thousand Poison Pearl.
The internal demon stood silently where she was, her slightly heaving chest gradually stilling.
Then the internal demon tilted her head, wondering if Elder Martial Sister Bai Lian would hate her fierce look.
Outside, dozens of seconds had passed.
“What happened?” Su Youwei asked, looking at the internal demon that suddenly appeared beside her.
The internal demon’s body was shrouded in a faint aura of death.
“It was an evil idea,” the internal demon said calmly.
“The one just now?”
The internal demon nodded. “It should be an evil idea from a fragment of the Ten Thousand Poison Pearl.”
She raised her hand, revealing a blue round ball in her palm, similar to the Ten Thousand Poison Pearl.
Su Youwei was surprised. Could obtaining the last fragment of the Pearl really be this easy?
“It seems too easy, doesn’t it? It feels unreal,” she said, feeling slightly dizzy.
The internal demon puffed her cheeks. “Easy? You… Hmph! If it weren’t for me just now, it would have taken control of you!”
“…”
Su Youwei hurriedly said, “Thank you, thank you! We’re the same person. Why focus so much on who did what?”
“Ha!” the internal demon sneered. Some things needed to be specified. She couldn’t give away all the benefits; she wanted some too!
Su Youwei landed on the ground quietly.
The sound of her landing caught Zhao Haiya’s attention.
Was Su Youwei alright? Had she been injured?
He opened his mouth slightly.
Just then, he heard a soft voice. “Big brother.”
Zhao Haiya quickly stepped aside.
Before him stood the child he had met earlier that day, accompanied by the puppy.
“Are you alright, big brother?” the child asked anxiously. “I… I don’t have any medicine, only this…”
The child opened his palm, revealing a piece of candy.
“Aww aww-” The puppy approached Zhao Haiya and licked his hand with its warm, wet tongue.
Zhao Haiya couldn’t quite describe the feeling.
He just felt his heart stirring with emotion.
Without thinking, he took the candy from the child and put it in his mouth.
“I’m fine.”
“Big brother, how does it taste?” the child asked softly.
Zhao Haiya smiled. “Very sweet – the sweetest candy I’ve ever eaten!”
He nodded vigorously.
The child laughed with joy.
As Su Youwei walked away quickly, Zhao Haiya sighed, “Now I understand why Fairy Bai Lian smiled so happily when helping others.”
That was truly the heart of a Saint!
Zhao Haiya wiped away the “正” characters on his wrist. He no longer needed to record good deeds in this way.
Su Youwei stared at him blankly.
Strange as it was, she felt that Zhao Haiya had changed from before.
From the moment the evil idea entered Su Youwei’s body, Tao Huai had been pacing anxiously.
“Why isn’t it done already?”
He had repeated this phrase more than ten times.
Suddenly, he raised his head mid-mumble.
“!”
In the sky, the emperor who had been fighting Bai Lian abruptly stopped.
Pa pa pa.
Though Bai Lian struck the emperor several times, he showed no response.
Tao Huai’s expression changed dramatically.
Something was wrong!
He immediately sensed that the emperor had been disconnected from the evil idea.
The evil idea would never sever the connection willingly.
There could be only one possibility – the evil idea was dead!
How was that possible?
The evil idea from the Ten Thousand Poison Pearl had vanished without a trace after entering Su Youwei’s body.
Tao Huai stood frozen.
This shouldn’t have happened. Neither Su Youwei nor Zhao Haiya had sufficient strength. Only Bai Lian could have done this.
Suddenly, realization struck Tao Huai, filling him with terror.
He understood.
“Bai Lian, you set me up! It was a trap!”
A hissing sound erupted from beneath the altar, filled with countless negative emotions – resentment, fear, pain, and despair…
Everyone in Nanwang City heard it clearly.
Bai Lian, who had been forcefully attacking the emperor, paused.
What was Tao Huai raving about?
Tao Huai had indeed lost his mind.
He alternated between laughing and crying.
He had been so foolish. How could someone as wise as Bai Lian leave her younger Martial Sister unprotected?
It had obviously been a trap!
Ridiculous – neither he nor the evil idea had suspected anything.
Now the evil idea was dead, and the emperor would soon be completely out of control. He had reached a dead end.
“Bai Lian, you are so cruel!”
Natural Saint? The reincarnation of a Star Lord?
Tao Huai’s face contorted.
He had waited more than ten years to take everything from the emperor, but Bai Lian had ruined all his plans the moment she appeared.
If he couldn’t have it, he would at least destroy it!
Tao Huai burst forth from the altar, consumed by boundless hatred.
The emperor, still under assault from Bai Lian, finally understood what had happened after hearing Tao Huai’s roar.
He saw clearly now.
The evil idea that had controlled him for more than ten years had been easily trapped and eliminated by Bai Lian. She truly deserved to be the reincarnation of a Star Lord!
He had not been wrong about Bai Lian – she really was the strongest person he had ever encountered!
