Chapter 13: Elder Martial Sister Bai Lian Is the Strongest Forever! (2)
Where had she gone?
Suddenly, the skeletons beneath the earth trembled.
Bai Lian saw a black fog swirling in the distance.
It was Lady White Bones.
She rose once more, returning to her original size.
Starting from a point dozens of miles away, she sprinted forward.
She moved with incredible speed, leaving a trail of white phantoms in her wake.
Bai Lian prepared herself.
“Elder Martial Sister!”
Su Youwei, standing within the array, clenched her fists anxiously.
This was her divine sense’s domain. She could feel it—Elder Martial Sister Bai Lian and Lady White Bones weren’t going to delay any longer. They were set on ending it now.
This was the final sprint!
Lady White Bones ran across the skeleton-infested ground, illuminated by the flames.
She had no face, so no one could discern her expression.
Shrouded in evil thoughts, no one could know her true intentions.
She just kept running.
She ran toward her escape, toward her future, and toward the magnificent path where she could finally exact her revenge on the Ten Thousand Poison Pearl!
At that moment, Lady White Bones saw Bai Lian strike.
It was an incredible punch.
But she didn’t intend to engage with Bai Lian.
“You’ve been deceived!”
Lady White Bones suddenly veered around just a few feet from Bai Lian, making it appear as though she had been struck by the punch.
Her goal was to break free from Su Youwei’s divine sense and invade Bai Lian’s mind.
Bai Lian froze in place.
Had she not come in with her full soul?
But Lady White Bones didn’t know.
She only saw the exterior light calling to her—a warmth that was truly bothersome.
Yet, Lady White Bones charged forward with all her might.
She won the gamble.
Bai Lian failed to stop her!
Ha ha ha.
Then, Lady White Bones transformed into light!
This light filled Su Youwei’s room, shone across the entire Qiongming Peak, and finally pierced into Bai Lian’s heart.
“Bai Lian, I’m coming for you!”
Even though you are a Natural Saint, you can’t resist the erosion of evil thoughts when your soul is out of your body!
Lady White Bones was elated.
She wanted to become a Natural Saint herself, then claim everything that belonged to Su Youwei using Bai Lian’s body.
But when Lady White Bones entered, her mouth dropped open in shock.
It was empty!
Bai Lian’s heart, which should have been a beautiful glazed house, was devoid of anything.
How could she take control of nothing?
What frightened Lady White Bones even more was the sensation of herself beginning to melt.
This empty world had no foundation for her to survive.
“No, I was wrong, I was wrong.”
“Ahhh!”
Lady White Bones screamed in agony.
She struggled desperately, but her legs began to melt after just a few steps.
She collapsed heavily to the ground, helplessly watching as her massive form was erased piece by piece.
Even evil thoughts fear such despair.
After a few breaths, Bai Lian’s heart returned to its serene state, with not a trace left behind. After all, it was the [Innocent Heart].
Far away, Bai Lian, Su Youwei, and the internal demon heard her last cry.
“This is called suicide,” Bai Lian murmured.
She absorbed the evil thoughts of Lady White Bones, knowing not only her plans but her origin as well.
Lady White Bones had mostly hidden inside the Ten Thousand Poison Pearl, even evading An Lan’s notice.
Of course, if An Lan had been at her peak, even if the evil thoughts were a thousand times stronger, they would still be no match for An Lan.
“Elder Martial Sister!” Su Youwei ran excitedly toward Bai Lian.
Her heart swelled with emotion.
Elder Martial Sister Bai Lian was as powerful as she had always imagined. She had vanquished that evil thought with a single strike!
Bai Lian gently reached out and touched Su Youwei’s head.
Lady White Bones was dead, but the matter was not yet over.
Her gaze shifted over Su Youwei’s shoulder and landed on the internal demon.
Su Youwei’s divine sense sea had regained its brilliance.
The vast hollow in the air continued to absorb the fading internal demon.
This time, the internal demon didn’t resist. She had lost to Su Youwei. Now, she would fill the void in Su Youwei’s heart.
Once she disappeared, Su Youwei would be whole again.
Everyone would be content, except for her.
Ah.
The internal demon shook her head in silence.
As an internal demon, it was ironically amusing for her to entertain such thoughts. There might never be another like her in the world.
At this moment, she should have used her rage to tarnish the glory of her victor, Su Youwei.
But forget it. Thinking too much was pointless.
The internal demon was pulled into the air.
She stared vacantly at Su Youwei.
“Farewell, my past of only killing and hatred.”
Her red pupils closed as the internal demon was pulled into the bottomless darkness. She felt herself drawn closer to the void.
“Is she really just an internal demon?” Su Youwei murmured.
Seeing an internal demon disappear should have been a moment of triumph.
But as the scene from before flashed through her mind—when the internal demon had reached out to her and cried, “Run!”—it kept replaying over and over.
Soon, the internal demon would vanish.
Su Youwei bit her lip.
Perhaps, what she was about to lose was not just the internal demon, but the “friend” who had quietly protected her life in the dark world of the past.
How could she abandon her friend?
Su Youwei stepped forward and called out to Bai Lian and the internal demon, “Stay!”
The internal demon stopped.
At this moment, she was just two feet from the void, but her body no longer swayed.
“Stay?”
The internal demon blinked in disbelief, looking at Su Youwei with wide eyes. “What are you saying?”
She thought Su Youwei had lost her mind.
No one would blame her for simply letting her internal demon be swallowed by the emptiness.
The internal demon asked again, “Do you even know what you’re doing?”
Su Youwei nodded. “I know!”
The internal demon responded, “It wouldn’t be so easy for you to defeat me next time if you miss this chance.”
Su Youwei nodded again. “I know that too.”
“Then you still insist?”
“There must be another way!”
“You are so naive!” The internal demon pointed at Su Youwei, scolding, “You’re sympathizing with an internal demon—a demon that only wants to replace you. How stupid!”
Su Youwei didn’t accept the criticism. “Didn’t you help me escape that time?”
The internal demon frowned. “That was only because I didn’t want that evil idea to take advantage of me!”
“Do you want to stay?”
Su Youwei no longer listened to the internal demon’s explanation and focused on the main issue.
The internal demon fell silent.
Of course, she wanted to stay.
“That’s right,” she admitted.
Su Youwei smiled—a brilliant smile.
At that moment, something shifted in the sky. The vast hollow healed itself, no longer swallowing the internal demon.
Su Youwei and the internal demon exchanged glances.
Without the hollow, there could be no internal demon.
Well…
“Why haven’t I disappeared?” the internal demon wondered aloud.
