Chapter 11: The Other Half of Her Life Suddenly Appears (2)
The battle began.
Unlike the previous battle, this one did not rely on dazzling special effects.
From “Elder Martial Sister Bai Lian’s” perspective, Su Youwei and her internal demon stood on the blackened land, silent. They stared at each other, as if they planned to remain that way for eternity.
As time passed, the first signs of change finally appeared in the sea of her divine sense.
The darkness of the night was pierced, and a beam of white light squeezed through the breach.
The radius of the white light expanded, growing wider with each passing moment. No matter how the night struggled, it was helpless against its inevitable fate of being slowly dispersed.
“It seems that the outcome will soon be decided,” murmured “Elder Martial Sister Bai Lian,” her expression unchanged.
Su Youwei replied, “You’re right. I can’t escape.”
The internal demon remained silent.
“I am no longer afraid of Elder Martial Sister Bai Lian discovering my past. I choose to accept you completely now, so you no longer need to exist.”
Su Youwei walked toward her internal demon.
She stopped two feet away, raised her right hand, and gently punched the flat chest of the internal demon.
Dong.
The sound of metal striking metal echoed.
An invisible ripple spread outward.
When the internal demon looked at Su Youwei, a smile tugged at her lips, her eyes still filled with pride as if she were observing her own disciple.
“Well played.”
Exactly.
Su Youwei agreed.
She had acted impulsively, stepping into the sea of her divine sense to confront her internal demon. After much struggle, she had finally succeeded.
Now, as long as she dismissed the imagined “Elder Martial Sister Bai Lian,” she would be free of her internal demons entirely.
Her strength would soar as a result.
And she wouldn’t be the weakest on Qiongming Peak anymore.
Yes!
Su Youwei clenched her right fist, raising it in victorious joy.
The internal demon was silent.
At least she hadn’t been defeated by that bitch, which was enough.
By the way, where was that bitch?
The internal demon paused, surprised.
It was too late for her to avoid the attack.
“Be quick…” Her words were barely spoken when a sharp sword stabbed her from behind, shattering her spine and piercing her chest.
Spurt.
Su Youwei’s face was splattered with blood.
What happened?
She looked at the internal demon, dazed.
“Don’t be afraid. All the problems have been solved.”
The voice of “Elder Martial Sister Bai Lian” came from behind the internal demon.
This time, the voice was cold and detached.
Su Youwei’s pupils contracted in shock.
“!”
She watched as the sword, stained with blood, was drawn from the chest of her internal demon.
Blood poured from the wound.
The internal demon’s body trembled violently.
Her once proud red pupils turned to a dull gray.
Her pale skin was splashed with blood.
I’m dying, the internal demon thought.
In the end, I was killed by that bitch.
The internal demon weakly extended her hand toward Su Youwei.
Well, now… you finally understand that this “foreign internal demon” isn’t a good thing, right?
Though I’m not a good thing either, at least I was born from your will. Even if you die by my hands, Su Youwei’s life would continue.
The internal demon screamed with all her remaining strength, “Run!”
Her hand dropped before it could touch Su Youwei.
Su Youwei reached out, but her hand missed.
Putong.
The internal demon collapsed to the ground with a heavy thud.
She had not fully disappeared, but she no longer had the strength to rise.
Su Youwei saw “Elder Martial Sister Bai Lian” standing there, her dress now soaked in blood.
It was at this moment that Su Youwei realized.
Something was wrong with this “Elder Martial Sister Bai Lian!”
“Elder Martial Sister Bai Lian” heard her only at this moment.
A cruel smile appeared on “Elder Martial Sister Bai Lian’s” face. “I wanted to stop you from being impulsive. If you were defeated by your internal demon, all my efforts would have been wasted. Unexpectedly, you really did defeat your internal demon. Ha ha, this is quite a surprise!”
As she laughed, a massive hole suddenly appeared in the air.
It was a hollow of the heart.
The emptiness beyond the hole exerted a powerful suction force, as if pulling the internal demon from the ground.
Under normal circumstances, when the internal demon was pulled in, Su Youwei would return to normal.
However, “Elder Martial Sister Bai Lian” wouldn’t allow that to happen. She would act the moment the internal demon was drawn into the void, so she could take Su Youwei’s place.
Poor Su Youwei, she had been deceived by “Elder Martial Sister Bai Lian”!
“I’m so foolish,” Su Youwei muttered.
How could I have imagined an internal demon like that!
It was all a lie, all of it.
She had been consumed by obsession.
Su Youwei bit her lip, pale.
What should she do now? She was no match for “Elder Martial Sister Bai Lian” at all.
…
In her room, Bai Lian lay on the bed, reading a fantasy novel.
Every once in a while, she would flip the book over and face the other wall.
“The fox spirit is so cute!”
After whispering that, Bai Lian turned the page.
She was about to continue reading the fox spirit’s story when a ripple in the air from the next room caused her to sit up immediately.
The Third Younger Martial Sister?
Bai Lian instantly released her Divine Sense.
Though she rarely indulged in such activities as peeping on her Younger Martial Sisters, she couldn’t help but check.
She saw the Third Younger Martial Sister lying in her bed, her sleeping posture less than ideal, with the blanket displaced, revealing a white foot.
“Her breathing is steady, she seems to be sleeping soundly.”
Bai Lian nodded slightly.
The strange fluctuation from earlier must have been a delusion.
Her eyes drifted back between the book and the wall, until they finally settled on the pages.
Reading…
Damn fox spirit! Don’t disrupt my relationship with my Younger Martial Sister!
Bai Lian tossed the book onto the table and stood up.
Her Divine Sense, as strong as any cultivator at the Soul Changing Stage, had allowed her to sense that there was something wrong.
Bai Lian waved her right hand, and a white light shot out from her chest.
Sword!
Pop.
She firmly gripped the enhanced Dirt Free Sword and quickly moved toward the door of the Third Martial Sister’s room.
Bai Lian unlocked the wooden door latch.
Her mind was sharp, her focus unbroken.
Her Divine Sense enveloped the entirety of Qiongming Peak like a sonar.
No abnormalities detected?
Bai Lian blinked hard.
When her eyes opened again, a task list appeared before her:
[Task 1: Push the door open. (Reward: Three Turn Soul Coagulation Pill)]
[Task 2: Search Qiongming Peak carefully. (Reward: Focus +2)]
[Task 3: Go back to your room and rest. (Reward: Soft Skill +5)]
The task was just as complicated as she had anticipated. This was no simple matter!
However, I am the Elder Martial Sister of Qiongming Peak.
It is my duty to protect my Younger Martial Sisters!
At that moment, Bai Lian was full of righteous determination.
She selected Task 1.
She removed the wooden pin from the door and calmly said, “Third Younger Martial Sister, I’m coming in.”
Buzz.
The air rippled again.
