Chapter 31: Come On, the Red-haired Big Sister! (1)
What should an accomplished Demon Woman be like?
Nishang had seriously pondered this question.
Since childhood, she had been constantly told that she shouldn’t stay in Niguang Mountain.
At first, she didn’t take it to heart, but after hearing it so many times, it started to matter to her.
Is it really up to them whether I can stay here or not?
But Nishang was a sincere person.
She decided she shouldn’t scold them until she understood what kind of “Demon Woman” they expected her to be.
So, Nishang went and asked several Elders.
“A Demon Woman never talks sense!”
After hearing this, Nishang gave up.
She was someone who liked to reason things out.
Demon Woman? That’s not something I want to be!
Optimistic by nature, Nishang soon figured it out.
It doesn’t matter what others say, as long as you’re strong, that’s enough.
Are you dissatisfied?
Then I’ll beat you up until you are!
With this mindset, she rose through the ranks from an unnoticed outer disciple to a well-regarded inner disciple.
She defeated all the outer disciples, then all the inner disciples, until one day, even her master lost to her.
Standing at the top of the mountain, Nishang turned around and was shocked to realize that everyone had started calling her “Demon Woman.”
Isn’t that funny?
Life really is full of strange, humorous situations.
Having stepped on countless stones along the way, Nishang found that she had gradually achieved everything.
But what’s the use of that?
Suddenly, she felt a deep loneliness.
She wasn’t a particularly clever person, so she didn’t know how to solve this loneliness.
In Niguang Mountain, it was hard for her to find a friend.
This continued until a few months ago.
Niguang Mountain had always had a good relationship with the Lingxu Sect.
One day, Nishang followed her sect leader to visit Lingxu Sect.
In a valley of the Lingxu Sect, surrounded by purple lotuses, with a unique white lotus among them, she met her life’s mentor!
Si Yunshang, an idle Elder of the Lingxu Sect, was there, watering the flowers.
Starting with the White Lotus, they began to talk.
“Do you like the White Lotus?”
“I don’t like it.”
“Actually, neither do I.”
“Well…”
“But when I see it, it makes me think of someone.”
Who was it?
Nishang found out a month later.
“Bai Lian.”
“It’s a familiar name.”
“Yes, she’s very famous. One day, her name will be etched in the history of the Eastern Divine Land.”
Nishang realized she was right. The Bai Lian Si Yunshang referred to was the Natural Saint Bai Lian of the Duxian Sect!
She became confused.
Si Yunshang, you’re an Elder of the Demon Sect. Why do you keep thinking about Bai Lian?
“It’s called liking.”
“Huh?”
Looking at Si Yunshang’s smiling face, Nishang awkwardly tapped her index fingers together.
“Both of you are women. How could you… communicate?”
After saying that, Nishang felt uncomfortable with her fingers.
She quickly made fists with both hands and stuck them together. Is that better?
Si Yunshang, “…”
Nishang realized her mistake.
She nodded seriously and said, “The key point is not that, but that you are an Elder of Lingxu Sect, and Bai Lian might become the sect leader of Duxian in the future!”
This problem isn’t so easy to solve!
“There’s always a way. If I really can’t find one, I’ll try to steal her.”
Will that be troublesome?
It could lead to a big war.
Nishang felt Si Yunshang was too strange.
But despite everything, she still enjoyed talking to her, as Si Yunshang was the only one who truly took the time to be patient with her.
When she was lonely, Si Yunshang was the one who helped her.
When she was wronged, Si Yunshang cleared her name.
Under Si Yunshang’s guidance, the people of Niguang Mountain started to become less hostile, and gradually, some people began to talk to her.
She was truly her life’s teacher!
Nishang was ready to treat Si Yunshang as her teacher.
She had never admired anyone so much.
But there was one thing about Si Yunshang that bothered her. Si Yunshang often mentioned Bai Lian.
“Bai Lian has reached the Soul Changing Stage.”
“Bai Lian killed the double-headed snake demon.”
“Bai Lian stood out for her younger Martial Sisters, alas—”
Bai Lian, Bai Lian, Bai Lian…
Nishang felt as if her ears were drowning in that name.
She even wondered if Si Yunshang saw Bai Lian as her daughter!
The brainwashing was incredibly strong.
From her initial scorn, Nishang grew more and more curious about Bai Lian. She even had several dreams where she fought with Bai Lian.
Who is this nearly perfect Natural Saint that Si Yunshang speaks of?
Nishang decided she needed to test Bai Lian for herself.
The opportunity came sooner than expected.
The eldest princess of Heluo was hosting a ceremony and had chosen her as the representative of Niguang Mountain.
This was a golden opportunity.
Nishang decided to take advantage of this and test Bai Lian.
What’s the easiest way?
It’s natural to have an intense and exciting fight with Bai Lian!
……
“Let me see why Sister Si Yunshang values you!”
Nishang struck at Bai Lian with full force.
Her attack carried killing intent, envy, and anger, faster than any evil spirit could imagine.
Bai Lian sensed the change in the atmosphere.
This tension stood in stark contrast to the gloomy surroundings. She even noticed some unlucky ghosts being pierced by the lance.
Aren’t they your ghosts? Why are you hitting them?
But that wasn’t her main focus.
Bai Lian responded to the shadow rushing towards her from above with calm determination.
Elder Martial Sister Bai Lian was never distracted!
Using See Through Voidness, she easily found Nishang’s real body and pushed her back with a single powerful fist.
After exchanging a few blows, Bai Lian realized that Nishang would never defeat her unless she used a stronger method of attack.
Though Nishang’s attack had been halted, she wasn’t discouraged. That was just a warm-up.
Guided by her Divine Sense, Nishang’s flying pots began to show tremendous power.
The wind howled, clouds shifted, and the mountains trembled.
A ghost roared, and evil spirits surrounded her.
Then, magic symbols and ghost seals came from all directions.
In the midst of all this chaos, Bai Lian seemed like a boat on the verge of capsizing in a storm.
But it was only an illusion.
The barrier she formed with her hands was unbreakable!
Magic Tools, spells, martial arts… No matter what Nishang threw at her, the barrier stopped it all.
Her fists were unparalleled!
“I can’t pierce it!”
Nishang was stunned.
How could it be so strong?
What bothered her most was that while Bai Lian remained unharmed, the magical circle created by the strange pots was slowly being worn down by Bai Lian’s power.
Red light oozed from a crack, as if bleeding.
The wound was in the magic circle, but the pain was in Nishang’s heart.
“What should I do?”
Nishang was anxious, beads of sweat forming on her brow.
After all this time, Bai Lian was still energetic, but she was running low on spiritual Qi.
Was she really going to lose so easily to Bai Lian?
Nishang couldn’t accept it.
This was completely different from what she had imagined.
She thought that even if she couldn’t defeat Bai Lian, at least she wouldn’t feel so humiliated.
But now, she felt that way.
How could she return to Si Yunshang and admit that she had been defeated by Bai Lian?
Would Si Yunshang look at her with disappointment or disdain?
The thought nearly drove Nishang crazy. She could only continue attacking with her Magic Tools, but the longer she did so, the more unsettled she became.
She had fallen into a vicious cycle.
……
At the top of the snow-covered mountain, two girls stood—one older, one younger.
“It seems like they’ve reached an impasse,” the younger girl, with a tall braid and looking about ten, said.
The older girl shook her head. “This is not an impasse.”
If Bai Lian noticed them, she would realize the girl was a disciple of Yaochi Holy Mountain, who had appeared at the ceremony not long ago.
She continued, “There’s no suspense. The red-haired woman will be easily defeated by Bai Lian if she shows any flaw.”
The younger girl pouted, “Sister, why are you defending Bai Lian?”
The older girl replied calmly, “I’m just stating the facts.”
“You can’t just tell the truth!” the little girl retorted angrily.
“…”
“I don’t like Bai Lian!”
Why so narrow-minded?
The younger girl said, “I want to see her lose!”
At this, the older girl sighed and spoke again, “I said, just watch and don’t cause trouble!”
The little girl hummed, “I don’t want to cause trouble, I’ll just shout a few words.”
“What will you shout?”
The little girl turned around, facing the light over the snow-covered mountain. She cupped her hands around her mouth and shouted, “Come on
Red-haired big sister!
“Huh?”
The girl froze.
The little girl continued.
Someone said that the Yaochi Holy Mountain was going to use her and her older sister to exchange for Bai Lian with the Duxian sect. What a joke. How could that happen?!
Bai Lian’s talent is really high, but is my sister’s talent poor?
My sister is known as the most gifted Saint in the Yaochi Holy Mountain, and she is expected to ascend to the Immortal World and become a true Immortal in the future!
Moreover, my elder sister is easygoing. She respects everyone in the sect and has done a lot of tasks of subduing and eliminating demons. She is not inferior to Bai Lian at all.
But people always say that her sister is not as good as Bai Lian. How can it be that Bai Lian can become a Saint just by helping ordinary people carry a few boxes or solving some family disputes?
The little girl refused to accept it.
Her sister is obviously better than Bai Lian!
Because she didn’t use the Voice Transmission Spell, she didn’t know whether Nishang could hear her. Maybe the voice was drowned by the wind before it passed.
But she just wanted to shout.
She wanted to shout out her anger, and she wanted to shout out her unwillingness.
“Come on…”
“You can beat that pesky woman!”
“Losing is not terrible, what is terrible is that you no longer believe in yourself!”
“You.”
The girl looked at her stubborn sister and sighed.
In fact, she doesn’t care.
