Chapter 11: She’s Ready, I’m in a Hurry
The double-headed dragon is as slippery as a loach.
After Bai Lian reported its evil deeds, the Duxian Sect organized two encirclement and suppression operations. But both times, they arrived too late. By the time they reached the cave where the double-headed dragon was hiding, it was already gone.
No way out.
Frustrated at their failure, the cultivators of the Duxian Sect searched the caves thoroughly, but to no avail. Before leaving, they set up monitoring arrays to keep track of any movement.
Unfortunately, the double-headed dragon was extremely vigilant. It had no intention of returning to the caves.
In this situation, catching the elusive dragon seemed impossible.
But this time, Bai Lian had a helper.
The double-headed dragon shouldn’t have caught the flower demon. The flower demon it had captured was actually the twin of the flower demon on the jade rabbit’s head. Two flowers on one root!
Though they had separated after becoming demons, they could still feel each other’s presence.
“Can I get lost after opening the task guide?” Bai Lian glanced back at the jade rabbit.
The flower stem of the flower demon bent slightly, pointing in a certain direction like Sinan.
Bai Lian turned her gaze toward Qing Luan, who was visibly nervous.
She had to be careful. She couldn’t show her unease in front of Qing Luan.
The Li River was two thousand miles away.
Bai Lian took out a handful of talismans from her chest—some made by herself, others gifted by An Lan. After a brief moment of selection, she drew out a yellow High-level Earth Talisman.
The Earth Talisman was different from the Earth Walking Talisman. The Earth Walking Talisman allowed the user to walk underground, while the Earth Talisman granted the ability to fly through the air, harnessing earth elements.
One was grounded, the other soaring. They were quite different.
A Water Talisman would have been ideal, especially since Bai Lian’s Spiritual Root was water-based. Still, the Earth Talisman was a good substitute—faster than sword flying!
And Bai Lian loved speed.
“Let’s go,” she said.
She injected her spirit Qi into the talisman, and the paper seemed to ignite, dissolving into the tide of spirit Qi in an instant.
With the earth elements surrounding them, Bai Lian and her companions sped toward the Li River, hidden by the force of the elements.
It was one o’clock in the morning. Snowflakes gently fell across the fields.
A vast river flowed quietly eastward. Broken ice drifted on its surface, and from a high vantage point, the water looked like a murky, muddy ditch.
“Is this the right place?” Bai Lian asked the jade rabbit.
If Bai Lian hadn’t stopped it, the jade rabbit would have already rushed to the river to fight.
The flower demon on the jade rabbit’s head nodded eagerly.
Bai Lian extended her divine sense, scanning the area. Something felt off in the river.
She raised her right hand. In an instant, countless electric snakes fell onto the abnormal area like a torrential downpour.
Thunderbolt! Thunderbolt!
The electric light formed a net, surrounding the pool of water, transforming it into an abyss of lightning. The blue and purple glow illuminated the faces of everyone present.
“Who dares disturb my sleep?” A deep voice roared from the center of the whirlpool.
Bai Lian shouted, “Double-headed dragon, come out and die!”
The Dirty Free Sword floated behind her, emitting a dazzling storm of light. Elder Martial Sister Bai Lian raised her fist.
Simultaneously, the jade rabbit stood up, its ears spinning like a propeller.
“Motherfucker!”
Angry shouts echoed as a dark figure sprang from the Li River.
It was towering—taller than a two-story building.
It was dark, almost blending into the boundless night.
And it was furious. This was the fifth time this year, and it was fed up. If the Duxian Sect had come for trouble, it would torture them. But most of these were random cultivators with no backing. How foolish!
“You fools…” The dragon’s body was long and serpentine, and it opened its round red eyes to shout a curse when it suddenly saw Bai Lian and Qing Luan’s clothes.
Wait.
The Duxian Sect!?
The dragon immediately changed its tone, “What do you want? There’s no double-headed dragon here, just the Lord of the Li River. You’ve got the wrong place. Okay, I’ll go back to sleep.”
The two-headed dragon turned to leave.
I’m not stupid. I won’t fight people from the Duxian Sect!
“Stop!” Bai Lian called out softly.
Did you think you could curse us?
I heard you, asshole!
Two jets of water shot out, wrapping around the double-headed dragon’s head.
Bang!
The dragon’s tail snapped, and the water column burst apart.
But Bai Lian’s attack didn’t end there.
She performed Butterfly Dance, transforming the broken water spray into tens of thousands of ice butterflies. Cold mist clouded the air, obscuring the double-headed dragon’s vision.
With lightning at the bottom and butterflies at the top, along with countless colorful Water-type special effects swirling around Bai Lian, the scene was nothing short of majestic.
The double-headed dragon watched nervously.
There was no time to hesitate.
The Duxian Sect would surely send more cultivators soon. It needed to escape before the reinforcements arrived.
Thinking quickly, the double-headed dragon prepared its strongest move.
One head breathed divine fire, the other whipped up the river, launching ice chunks toward Bai Lian.
Fire and ice!
Bai Lian was caught in a massive explosion.
Taking advantage of the chaos, the double-headed dragon dove into the Li River. It was time to finish off these people before running.
Like an assassin in the dark, it waited to strike, aiming to pierce Bai Lian’s body.
Here came the chance!
The double-headed dragon’s heart raced as it saw Bai Lian’s exposed vulnerability.
It was waiting for this opening.
Amidst the endless thunderstorm, the dragon surged into the air, wrapped in a layer of red light, making it resemble an indestructible double-pronged halberd.
“Die, fool!” The dragon roared.
Suddenly, Qing Luan’s face turned pale. She hurriedly shouted, “Martial Sister Bai Lian, be careful!”
But it was too late.
Ding!
The dragon’s “halberd” pierced the water curtain that protected Bai Lian, and in the next moment, it punctured her abdomen.
“Great…”
Wait.
The dragon’s excitement instantly evaporated. It realized that its fangs were stopped by an invisible force and hadn’t even touched Bai Lian’s clothes.
This wasn’t the worst part.
The most terrifying realization struck the dragon—it had just heard the woman next to it shout, “Martial Sister Bai Lian.”
Who in the Duxian Sect was called Bai Lian?
“Are you Bai Lian?”
“Yes, I am Bai Lian!”
Dong!
The double-headed dragon’s heart felt as if it had been struck by lightning.
It raised its head slowly, trembling, and saw a face as cold as ice and snow.
Mockery. It was unmistakably mocking.
At that moment, the double-headed dragon understood.
A trap.
Bai Lian had deliberately concealed her identity and exposed a flaw, all to lure the dragon into this very trap.
“I was deceived!” the dragon cursed under its breath.
Damn it!
The dragon had heard that Bai Lian had the strength of the Nascent Soul Stage. Recently, rumors said she had broken through to the Soul Changing Stage.
Panic gripped it.
It attempted a soul attack on Bai Lian, only to find it was easily blocked.
The Soul Changing Stage, absolutely!
The dragon’s strength was merely at the peak of the Nascent Soul Stage, and it stood no chance against Bai Lian. To make matters worse, it was now completely restrained by her.
It was over.
The dragon, in panic, forgot to struggle.
It could only watch as Bai Lian brandished her sword.
In the next moment, its head would be severed.
No!
The double-headed dragon felt a last surge of defiance, attempting to struggle. It couldn’t die so easily.
It snapped off its teeth to avoid the first sword.
Shuffle…
It managed to break its tail to avoid the second sword.
It tried to use its water-spouting head to break free.
No. Wait! It couldn’t give up!
But just as the double-headed dragon made its final attempt, Bai Lian pierced its heart with her sword.
“Just like that?” Bai Lian muttered, surprised.
Had the double-headed dragon been slain so easily, with no resistance?
Double-headed Dragon King? Too weak!
She shook her head, sighing.
She had thought her own strength was overestimated, but the dragon’s was far more inflated. Maybe even Qing Luan could have killed it effortlessly.
Why does everyone enjoy spreading rumors so much? Can’t they be more sincere?
Alas.
Bai Lian flew toward Qing Luan.
“Are you alright?”
Qing Luan quickly shook her head.
Bai Lian muttered, “I think so. This snake’s strength is nothing. It dies today, and the Li River will finally be peaceful.”
Qing Luan nodded, still shocked by Bai Lian’s strength.
The intense battle she had expected never came to be. Elder Martial Sister Bai Lian had effortlessly defeated the double-headed
Too strong, Martial Sister Bai Lian!
Elder Martial Sister Bai Lian has really broken through to the Soul Changing Stage, just as rumored.
Qing Luan’s heart surged, and in that moment, Hong Luan’s status fell again.
