Chapter 1 Part 2: Hurry Up and Get Up (2)
How will she face Elder Martial Sister Bai Lian in the future?
In the midst of this uncertainty, a sudden flash of inspiration crossed her mind.
[I have it!]
It’s better to act first.
“Elder Martial Sister, the thing is actually like this,” Su Youwei began, pointing at Hong Yi, who was still wiping her mouth. “Just a moment ago, Hong Yi lost control due to excessive energy consumption, and I had to find a way to restrain her.”
Hong Yi looked confused, “?”
Su Youwei, however, ignored her expression and skipped happily towards Bai Lian.
“Elder Martial Sister, you are truly amazing! As soon as you arrived, Hong Yi calmed down!”
“…”
Bai Lian’s face was blank, and something didn’t feel quite right. Her gaze shifted toward Hong Yi, who gave a hesitant nod.
Yes, that’s right… just like that.
For a moment, Hong Yi couldn’t think of a way to explain it and reluctantly admitted it.
After all, if she denied it, how could she explain why she had bitten Su Youwei’s foot?
[I like to eat it!]
Bah.
Only Elder Martial Sister Bai Lian’s foot!
[We are fighting.]
How about this?
“At that time, my mind was a complete mess. I had no idea what happened,” Hong Yi murmured, her voice filled with humiliation.
“I almost lost to her, and worse, I almost lost my skirt!”
Bai Lian, sensing her discomfort, approached gently. She placed her hand on Hong Yi’s head.
Hey?
Hong Yi blinked, feeling warmth flooding through her body.
It was so comfortable.
Was this the aura of Elder Martial Sister Bai Lian?
She narrowed her eyes, almost like a cat being petted.
“Hmm… I don’t sense anything wrong,” Bai Lian said, furrowing her brows before relaxing. “Well, no news is good news.”
Yet, Bai Lian couldn’t afford to be complacent. She decided to keep a closer eye on Hong Yi.
After some time, Bai Lian removed her hand, her Divine Sense detecting Dao Xingyuan. At that moment, his breath was weak,
and his soul unstable. Even a Qi Refining Stage cultivator could easily subdue him.
“Please wait here,” Bai Lian instructed, turning toward Dao Xingyuan.
“Elder Martial Sister, he is not a bad person!” The voice of the third Martial Sister floated behind them.
Hmm.
I know.
Bai Lian smiled softly. The renowned Rebellious Shura had transformed into a kind-hearted soul. Quite impressive indeed!
“Taoist Friend Xingyuan,” Bai Lian called gently.
Dao Xingyuan slowly raised his head. His gaze was murky, but when he saw Bai Lian’s face, there was a flicker of recognition in
his eyes.
“I missed my appointment,” he said, a bitter smile on his face. His voice was hoarse, as if he hadn’t drunk water in days.
Bai Lian nodded. “I know.”
Because of the third Martial Sister, she had been following his movements.
Dao Xingyuan shook his head.
“No,” he murmured. “You cannot understand this pain. Only those who have lived it know what it feels like.”
He couldn’t go back. Even if he obtained the Ten Thousand Poison Pearl now, it wouldn’t change anything.
He had destroyed the Ineffable Immortal Emperor’s plans, shattered the hope for the Path Master’s return, and dismantled his
own life’s foundation.
Was there any meaning left in living?
Dao Xingyuan had once planned to end his life, but seeing Bai Lian changed his mind. This was his last hope.
“Let’s change the transaction method.”
“?!” Bai Lian raised an eyebrow, confused.
Dao Xingyuan stretched out his right hand. As he opened his five fingers, three objects appeared before her: a dark blue stake, a
deep gray mist, and a white hexahedron.
“This is the Taiyin Pillar, the complete [Ten Thousand Calamities Refining Cultivation Method], and a small world that shelters the
Lu family.”
“What?” Bai Lian’s eyes widened in shock. Her gaze immediately fixed on the hexahedron.
“Are you saying that Martial Sister Lu’s family is still alive?” she asked.
Dao Xingyuan shook his head. “Not everyone is alive. I can’t protect them all alone.”
“Then…”
“Her father is still there.”
Bai Lian exhaled in relief. This news was worth more than the Taiyin Pillar or the cultivation method.
Things could be lost and found, but if a person was lost, they were truly gone.
Dao Xingyuan must have paid a heavy price.
“I’ll go and fetch the Ten Thousand Poison Pearl.”
Just as Bai Lian was about to turn, Dao Xingyuan stopped her.
“No need. I don’t need it anymore.”
Bai Lian paused. What did that mean for the transaction?
Dao Xingyuan said, “Fairy Bai Lian, when you return to the Immortal World, if you have the chance, give the Ten Thousand
Poison Pearl to the Ineffable Immortal Emperor. If someone tries to stop you, and there’s great danger, you can choose not to give
it.”
“What about you?” Bai Lian pressed.
“Me?” Dao Xingyuan gazed at the vast desert, his voice soft. “I want to look around.”
He wobbled as he stood up. Without waiting for a response, he began walking toward the depths of the desert.
“Taoist Friend Xingyuan!” Bai Lian called urgently.
Dao Xingyuan heard her but didn’t turn. The moonlight bathed his form, and though he seemed on the verge of collapse, he never
fell. His silhouette grew more and more lonely as he walked away.
After a long time, his figure disappeared from Bai Lian’s view, though his voice still lingered in the air.
“Fairy Bai Lian, perhaps you aren’t aware, but there’s a unique strength within you.”
Unique strength?
Bai Lian remained silent, lost in thought. After her sudden increase in Focus, her spirit Qi had been steadily growing. It seemed to
be a gift from the Mingzhou land veins. At this rate, she wouldn’t be far from breaking through to the peak of the Transcendency
Stage.
Her goal was now clear: she needed to uncover the secrets buried within the East Divine Land.
Time was tight.
She had to hurry.
After collecting the items before her, Bai Lian returned to the third Martial Sister and Hong Yi.
“Let’s go back and look for our master.”
“Hmm.”
The journey back was long, and Bai Lian found herself slowing down, wanting to have more time with her master.
She kissed her master on the cheek, touched her nose, playfully nibbled on her earlobe, and squeezed her buttocks, repaying her
for everything she had done.
Indeed, Bai Lian’s retaliatory spirit was strong and terrifying.
At three o’clock in the night, her master’s eyes trembled slightly as she slept.
Bai Lian signaled for her to release her hold.
But her master’s response was faster than Bai Lian expected.
An Lan stood up shakily but accidentally stepped on the blanket with her foot.
Slippery.
She fell backward, and in the chaos, she grabbed Bai Lian’s neck.
Then…
Puff!
The two of them collapsed onto the ground, with Bai Lian sitting on An Lan’s abdomen, her hands propped up by An Lan’s ears,
and the blanket covering them.
It looked as if they were doing something naughty beneath the covers.
“…”
“…”
An Lan looked around confused. “Where am I?”
Bai Lian’s heart raced as if it had multiplied by ten.
This woman was unexpectedly lovable!
“Ahhh!”
Her breathing intensified. She could feel the heat rising, almost as if she were about to burst into steam.
Just then, the system task appeared. Task 1: make her do something bad while she’s still confused.
But that wouldn’t do.
She was Bai Lian, not Bai Lian. She couldn’t force her master to do anything against her will.
Bai Lian quickly calmed herself.
As she did, she realized something.
How could the mighty Immortal Heavenly Lord be so exhausted as to not even recognize where she was?
“Master!” she called out in alarm.
“Hmm?” An Lan looked at Bai Lian suspiciously but surprisingly didn’t knock her over.
In fact, An Lan was completely drained, unable to resist Bai Lian. This was the result of losing one of the Great Tao techniques
she had mastered. She needed time to recover.
An Lan’s eyes lit up as she realized Bai Lian had returned.
However, she couldn’t let Bai Lian know about her internal struggles.
The destruction of the Great Tao method was extremely valuable.
Bai Lian asked, “Master, are your injuries okay?”
An Lan coldly snorted. “Injuries? Where are my injuries? Get up!”
Bai Lian immediately got to her feet, extending a hand. After a brief hesitation, An Lan took it, allowing herself to be helped up.
Bai Lian smiled.
This would be the last time she let her master suffer for her.
Under the bright moon, the desert wind blew across the Sand Region, through the East Divine Land, toward the stars, and into the
Immortal World, stirring ancient currents.
The Ineffable Immortal Emperor, standing with his hands behind his back, gazed up at the Wanjie Dharma Pool.
“The Immeasurable Disaster has begun.”
