Chapter 5: Entering An Lan (2)
An Lan still remembered the expression on Bai Lian’s face when she found her.
Bai Lian looked grateful, as if a burden had been lifted, with a hint of “just as I thought” in it.
Speaking of Bai Lian, this sly fox had been secretly admiring her for a long time!
How could it be that the two outfits Bai Lian gave her as a birthday present were all in styles and colors that she liked?
How could Bai Lian realize her mood was so bad just after leaving the Qiongming Peak?
An Lan lowered her head slightly.
Bai Lian was much taller than her, so it was impossible to make out her expression from this angle.
She sighed.
She should not have blamed Bai Lian just now.
Bai Lian hadn’t crashed into her; rather, An Lan had secretly “crashed” into Bai Lian.
And that was not Bai Lian’s fault. It was all her own fault.
If it weren’t for her desire to see how Bai Lian would react to her “Death,” Bai Lian wouldn’t have any Martial Sister.
If Bai Lian didn’t have any Martial Sister, she wouldn’t get upset over small things.
Although An Lan now recognized her mistake, she still couldn’t bring herself to apologize to Bai Lian.
How could the master apologize to her disciple?
She didn’t want to.
Even though she was shorter than Bai Lian, her identity was far superior to hers!
How could the Heavenly Lord kneel before her disciple? It was impossible!
But she wasn’t unreasonable.
An Lan decided to compensate Bai Lian in other ways.
Teach Bai Lian new spells?
No way.
Bai Lian was too slow. She had been studying for nearly a year and still hadn’t grasped “Thousands of Flowers.” Teaching her new spells was pointless.
But An Lan could give Bai Lian something.
She was about to reach into her chest pocket to retrieve it when her fingers halted against her chest.
The first month of the lunar year was approaching.
If she remembered correctly, Bai Lian’s birthday was on the 28th of January.
Ah, yes!
An Lan decided she would give Bai Lian something on her birthday.
“Master?”
Bai Lian called out again, seeing An Lan lost in thought.
“Why?”
An Lan snapped out of it.
“I prepared fireworks,” Bai Lian said.
“Oh.”
“My cooking is better than last year.”
“Oh.”
“So is the tea ceremony.”
“Oh.”
“The town at the foot of the mountain is much busier this year.”
An Lan curled her mouth and said, “Then what?”
“Master.”
Bai Lian stepped forward and knelt beside An Lan’s bed, leaning her upper body toward her, only a foot away.
Watch carefully!
At this distance, the warmth she exhaled spread gently across An Lan’s chest.
At this distance, the master couldn’t avoid her wish, right?
An Lan’s body trembled at the scent.
No. Too close!
She raised her hand to push Bai Lian away.
But Bai Lian persisted.
“I want to spend the holiday with you!”
An Lan understood. She understood… but why was Bai Lian so close?
An Lan pressed her hand against Bai Lian’s collarbone.
Then…
PUSH!
But Bai Lian was undeterred.
She furrowed her brows slightly, seeming to be lost in sadness.
She knows.
Her master is a woman with a cold appearance but a warm heart.
She also knows.
Her master likes her disciples.
Bai Lian said, “Shifu, I’ve been at the Qiongming Peak for six years. Six years isn’t long, but in all that time, I’ve never had a holiday with you, except for last year’s New Year’s Eve. I’m always alone. Shifu, at least for this year’s New Year, can you stay at the Qiongming Peak with us?”
“…”
Bai Lian’s words were direct.
An Lan couldn’t find a way to avoid it.
Just like last New Year’s Eve.
Bai Lian had suddenly grabbed her hand, leaving her no space to wiggle out of it.
Back then, Bai Lian had been very tough, but now she looked pitiful.
Yes. She’s always alone, and she looks like she needs someone to take care of her.
After all, she’s still a child.
An Lan recalled the little Bai Lian she had nurtured in the Past World and the words she once said to her.
“She needs you more.”
Exactly.
Sigh… It seems there’s nothing I can do. Let me take care of you.
An Lan stood back and snorted coldly, “Who said I’d be leaving the Duxian sect? That’s obviously just a rumor!”
Bai Lian understood.
Her master had agreed!
If her master truly wanted to refuse, she would never say something as awkward as that.
“Master, I will arrange everything.”
An Lan waved her hand dismissively. “Just this time? Huh?”
She suddenly froze.
Hadn’t she said something similar before Bai Lian took her away last time?
“…”
Before An Lan could figure it out, Bai Lian said, “The Lantern Festival is the same. I’ve prepared everything. Shifu, you just need to enjoy it.”
Bah.
Enjoy it?
An Lan felt something was off.
Bai Lian was washing her feet for her, but then Bai Lian started licking her toes!
That couldn’t just be explained away as an accident.
Although it was wrong for her to suddenly stiffen her body and press her toes against Bai Lian’s lips, Bai Lian clearly could have refrained from sticking out her tongue. But she still did.
If that’s not a pervert, then what is it?
At that time, she should have given Bai Lian a beating.
She should have scolded her loudly to set her straight and draw a line between this deviant behavior.
It’s a pity her mind had gone blank, and she completely forgot about the incident.
She must remember.
It must not happen again this year!
“You can do it yourself,” An Lan replied curtly.
Bai Lian smiled and said, “Master, do you still have any discomfort? Let me press it for you.”
No. No. Get out, get out!
An Lan immediately began to push Bai Lian away.
What is she doing?
Now, every time An Lan saw Bai Lian, she remembered the electric jolt that shot through her toes when Bai Lian licked them.
If she looked at Bai Lian again, she wasn’t sure she wouldn’t push her to the ground and beat her in a fit of extreme anger.
The effect would be disastrous. She couldn’t do that.
In the end, Bai Lian didn’t persist.
The master was clearly impatient. If she stayed any longer in the cave, An Lan might want to beat her.
Enough.
Bai Lian was extremely grateful to have recognized her master’s abnormality at the first moment.
However…
The problem seemed more complicated.
According to the system’s tasks, the master was angry because she had seen Bai Lian hugging her Martial Sisters.
Was it because Shifu felt jealous?
Hiss…
Bai Lian took a deep breath.
No way.
This was a devastating blow to her dream of living a peaceful life with both her Martial Sisters and master in the mountains, away from all distractions!
