Chapter 15: No Title
Just as I’d anticipated, this game wasn’t going to be easy.
Our team’s bottom lane was an Ezreal and Yuumi, with Shuo Yan controlling Nidalee in the jungle, Viktor in the mid lane, and Jayce top. The enemy bot lane had Blitzcrank and Jinx, their mid was Talon, jungle was Lee Sin, and top was Gnar.
We had a solid team composition, with speed boosts, heals, and strong poke power, though we were a bit short on crowd control. As for the enemy team, they were your typical all-melee comp.
If it went late, only Jinx could carry for them. So as long as we held on in the early game or gained an advantage, we should be able to win.
We were on the blue side, and Shuo Yan (Nidalee) started red, so Ezreal and I (Yuumi) had to help her take down some of its health.
Knowing Jinx and Blitzcrank had a strong level 1, I was worried they might ambush us, so I placed a control ward in the tri-brush (my starting items were a support item and a control ward).
Sure enough, while taking red buff, the control ward detected their bot lane lurking in the bush, and my only control ward was promptly destroyed.
After finishing the red buff, Ezreal and I sneaked through the small path by the Krugs to avoid vision in the tri-brush area. When we didn’t see the enemy bot lane, I cautiously pinged the tri-brush for Ezreal to be careful.
But, to my surprise, Ezreal didn’t go down the path near the Krugs. Instead, he walked out of the small opening right below the tri-brush. As I’d feared, Blitzcrank’s yellow robotic arm shot out and snagged him perfectly. Since I was attached to him, we were both pulled into the tri-brush.
In a panic, I cast Exhaust on Jinx. We couldn’t fight at level 1. Amid the chaos, Ezreal ended up Flashing into the wall, and his Heal was delayed, significantly reducing its effectiveness due to Blitzcrank’s Ignite.
I quickly unattached, using Yuumi’s passive to get a shield for Ezreal, but it was too late. Jinx flashed in for one final auto-attack, and Ezreal fell to the ground.
First Blood!
Fortunately, they didn’t have any more crowd control, so I managed to escape. I thought we could still stabilize after this first blood, but things didn’t go that way.
When Ezreal returned to lane, the enemy duo had already hit level 2. Blitzcrank circled around from the bush. I pinged the bush on Ezreal’s screen, signaling him to be careful.
However, feeling confident, Ezreal stayed in place, trying to dodge Blitzcrank’s hook. But, unsurprisingly, he got hooked again. Since I was attached to him, both of us ended up dragged into the fray. Predictably, Jinx finished us both off this time.
With three kills, Jinx was on a roll. After buying items, she returned to lane and began pushing nonstop, taking turret plates for extra gold. This was the perfect snowball scenario.
Seeing the trouble bot lane was in, Shuo Yan (Nidalee) quickly typed to Ezreal, asking him to play safe, since the enemy jungler might try a tower dive. But before she even arrived, Ezreal got hooked again.
Double kill…
Ezreal’s mental state was shattered. He furiously ranted in all chat:
“This ** jungle! Bot lane’s getting destroyed, and you don’t even come to help! One gank would have changed the game.”
“And this ** support, why didn’t you block the hook when Blitz pulled out his arm? You let us both die!”
After his rant, he rage-quit the game.
I was speechless. He’d picked Yuumi for me, yet somehow I was the one getting blamed. Even a Challenger Yuumi couldn’t save him.
With Ezreal gone, our team morale took a hit. Although our top, mid, and jungle were all doing well and each had a kill, now we were down a player. Winning a 4v5 would be challenging.
Viktor mid typed “15” in chat, suggesting an early surrender.
Then Shuo Yan responded in all-chat.
“We can still win if we play smart. Late-game team fights will wear them down.”
“Come on, guys! If we win this, I’ll show you some exclusive pics. Our Yuumi here is a super cute girl!”
!?
I was baffled.
The promise of seeing a cute support girl in black lace set our team on fire. Jayce top typed, “I’ll carry.”
Mid Viktor typed, “We got this. I’m building a Mejai’s.”
With renewed enthusiasm, my team started to perform. I attached to Shuo Yan’s Nidalee and followed her into the enemy jungle, helping her catch the enemy Talon in an ambush.
Meanwhile, the enemy bot duo had already taken down our first turret. Shuo Yan, our mid laner, and I headed bot to set up a 3v2 ambush. If we could kill Jinx and collect her bounty, our chances of winning would improve drastically.
On the way… Jayce’s teleport lit up! After single-handedly taking down Gnar, he teleported behind the enemy bot duo, cutting off their escape route.
With Shuo Yan landing a precise spear, Jinx’s 700-gold bounty was ours, and Viktor grabbed the Blitzcrank kill. With the extra gold, our top, mid, and jungle could all take on two enemies at once.
Realizing they couldn’t handle us, the enemy team started getting frantic, making careless mistakes. In a final teamfight at Baron, we managed to ace them in a 5-for-1 exchange, ending the game.
As the enemy base exploded, we won the game.
Ping!
My friends list lit up with two new friend requests—the enemy top and mid. Feeling a bit flustered, I glanced over at Shuo Yan for help.
She’d also received friend requests from them and accepted with a mischievous grin. “Don’t worry,” she said, “I know exactly how to handle these simp guys.”
Shuo Yan added them on QQ and sent them a “special” photo from her gallery: an old shot of Su Guo (Our other roommate) cross-dressing back when she was still male.
The picture was just a leg shot in a skirt, only her legs and the skirt were visible, not her face.
During a truth-or-dare game at Shuo Yan’s house, Su Guo had lost and had to wear her little sister’s clothes. Despite being shy, Su Guo was incredibly sincere and agreed to wear the outfit.
She looked so stunning we actually doubted whether she was a girl or not.
So, that one leg shot was all we took, worried more photos might embarrass her.
Now, Shuo Yan had a perfect opportunity to use it.
Naturally, the guys weren’t entirely convinced this was her, so Shuo Yan sent them a voice message in her cutest voice,
“Oh, this really is me! Aren’t you going to say something nice?”
This proved that simps are simple creatures indeed. Hearing Shuo Yan’s adorable voice, they both begged for more pictures.
But Shuo Yan wouldn’t give in so easily, replying, “Maybe next time.”
