Chapter 26: Jixian Peak
After leaving the Scripture Pavilion, Ji Yang was unaware of the brewing events among the outer disciples.
At this moment, Ji Yang was heading towards Jixian Peak.
Indeed, he intended to seek Elder Chai’s help in crafting a magical weapon.
Elder Chai had agreed to assist him in crafting the weapon, but Ji Yang had to provide the materials. Even so, this chance was quite precious.
Ji Yang was practically broke; it seemed Jingtan Peak didn’t have much to offer either.
However, after inspection, Ji Yang found that the superior flying swords he mined were made from high-quality Xuan iron, extremely sturdy, and perfect for crafting flying swords.
Jixian Peak towered high with towering rocks surrounding it, resembling a gathering place for celestial beings from the nine heavens.
The peak split at the top, resembling a pair of open scissors.
According to the sect’s legends, this peak was a top-tier magical treasure that could transform into its original form to fight bravely against enemies during the sect’s times of crisis.
Looking at the grand peak, Ji Yang sighed within, wondering what kind of power such a treasure possessed!
As Ji Yang reached the foot of the mountain, two disciples blocked his path.
He glanced at the two before him; both were inner disciples, sporting the emblem of Jixian Peak.
Comparing Jixian Peak to his own Jingtan Peak, there was no contest!
“I am Ji Yang. I have come to find Elder Chai to craft a magical weapon. Please inform him,” Ji Yang said, cupping his hands, calm and composed, undeterred by the pressure exuded by the two.
There was a substantial gap between different realms; ordinary disciples would naturally feel pressure when facing higher-level cultivators.
But Ji Yang was no longer at the second level of Qi Refinement; he had reached the Tenth Level of Qi Refinement, only one step away from the Foundation Establishment stage. The two before him were merely Foundation Establishment stage disciples, so their cultivation wasn’t high enough to intimidate Ji Yang.
Seeing Ji Yang’s relaxed demeanor, the two exchanged glances, filled with surprise and doubt.
They had recognized Ji Yang’s second level of Qi Refinement, yet a mere outer disciple dared to speak of seeking their Jixian Peak’s Elder Chai for help with crafting a magical weapon.
Such a request had never occurred before, leaving the two hesitant. What if this bold kid was merely making a fool of them?
“You two brothers only need to inform him; Elder Chai will surely meet me!”
Seemingly sensing their concerns, Ji Yang spoke again.
Noticing Ji Yang’s impressive demeanor and polite words, one of them slowly replied,
“Please wait a moment, Junior Brother.”
With that, one took out a messaging talisman and whispered a few words.
Before long, the talisman glowed brightly.
Then the guarding disciple looked at Ji Yang in astonishment before politely saying,
“Junior Brother, you may enter. Elder Chai is already waiting for you in the crafting room.”
“Thank you.”
Ji Yang turned and entered the peak.
The two behind him couldn’t help but express their astonishment:
“Elder Chai has been busy crafting tools recently. Even if the elders or Peak Masters from other peaks come to visit, he might not have time to spare. Who is this child anyway?”
“Ji Yang, could he be the Ji Yang from Jingtan Peak? I have heard a little about him.”
The two whispered to each other.
Once Ji Yang entered the peak, he looked up at the summit and silently estimated the distance from the bottom to the top.
If he were to walk, it would take quite some time.
Flying on a sword would be better.
He had reached the Tenth Level of Qi Refinement and could already control magic tools for flight, and he happened to have a superior flying sword on him.
However, Ji Yang still felt uncertain because he had never flown before.
Just as Ji Yang prepared to take out his flying sword, a crane suddenly descended from the sky.
Ji Yang was startled; this crane had the cultivation level of the Foundation Establishment stage. Then he realized this was Jixian Peak, and the crane likely belonged to someone, so he calmed down.
The crane first looked at Ji Yang, then slightly crouched, indicating for him to get on.
Ji Yang did not hesitate and sat on the crane’s back.
The next moment, the crane spread its wings and soared into the wind, but Ji Yang remained quite stable on its back.
This made Ji Yang think about capturing a few for Jingtan Peak; they would be impressive and beautiful.
The crane flew straight up, and as Ji Yang watched the shrinking foot of the mountain and the beautiful scenery around him, he felt refreshed. This flight felt much better than the previous two.
Before long, the crane landed in front of a building.
At the entrance, Elder Chai was smiling and stroking his beard.
He hadn’t expected Ji Yang to arrive so quickly, but this was good for him; paying off the debt of gratitude sooner meant he could concentrate better on his crafting.
“Greetings, Elder Chai!”
Getting off the crane, Ji Yang bowed respectfully. As an elder of Jixian Peak, one couldn’t know what cultivation level he had achieved, so it was better to be cautious.
Elder Chai nodded slightly and then asked directly,
“What magical tool do you wish to craft?”
Ji Yang was not modest and pulled out a remaining iron pick from his storage bag, saying,
“I would like to craft a magical tool like this one, just follow its shape and color, but make it a bit heavier.”
Elder Chai’s smile faltered as he looked at the iron pick Ji Yang had taken out with a peculiar expression, checking again,
“Are you sure you want to craft this?”
Ji Yang was somewhat confused but firmly nodded,
“Please, Elder Chai.”
Elder Chai’s smile faded. Countless people had come to him for crafting tools; elders from various peaks, Peak Masters, and even the Sect Leader had once asked for his assistance.
Even the beautiful embroidered portrait held by the Sect Leader was a magic tool specially crafted by him.
To be precise, it was a magical treasure—not just any magical treasure. Every Sect Leader would showcase it when accepting new disciples.
Yet this young man was wasting this precious opportunity to ask him to craft an iron pick, leaving him with an indescribable feeling.
Was he no longer valuable? Or was his reputation not loud enough among the new disciples?
Forget it, it’s just this once; let’s go ahead with it!
Elder Chai suppressed his displeasure and spoke again,
“Do you have the materials prepared for crafting the tool? The most important thing in crafting is the materials, and only then the technique!”
What he meant was that without materials, no matter how skilled he was, he could not produce a high-quality magical tool.
As for a magical treasure, forget it; the materials required for that were not easy to deal with, and this favor was insufficient for him to craft a magical treasure.
Ji Yang picked up on Elder Chai’s implication and promptly took out a plain flying sword from his storage bag.
The flying sword was a pale blue color and quite unremarkable; this was Ji Yang’s superior flying sword he had mined!
“Good, a flying sword made from Xuan iron mine, and with special crafting techniques, it’s enough to reach the level of a high-grade magic tool!”
Seeing Elder Chai recognize the flying sword’s material and assess the tool’s level immediately after a glance, Ji Yang couldn’t help but marvel—truly a top-tier crafting master!
“However, this amount of material is not enough to craft the tool you mentioned; you need at least…”
“Clang!”
