Chapter 960 New Spirit of the Artifact
The Ninth Magatsutsuno, “Divine Concealment.”
Origami Crane dropped the eighth Magatsutsuno, which Yurina quickly thrust into the pool of blood.
The eight Magatsutsuno blades intertwined to form a circle, standing silently in the blood pool, with various colored lights surging beneath Yurina’s feet like a brilliant ocean of light and shadow.
Yurina’s small face appeared pale from blood loss. She lowered her head, solemnly untied the paper blade from her waist, and gripped it in her palm.
“Grandmother Crane… Little Yurina has grown up, can you see?”
She gently rubbed the scabbard, her eyes full of reluctance and nostalgia. She smiled and spoke softly, “When I’m no longer by your side, please take good care of yourself… If there’s a next life, I still want to be your granddaughter.”
In the blood pool before her, an elderly figure appeared out of thin air. Silver-white hair swayed in the wind as Grandmother Crane stood among countless paper cranes, reaching out to pat Yurina’s head.
Her face was full of kindness:
“Don’t worry, Little Yurina, grandmother will always be behind you…”
Her form transformed into paper cranes, circling around Yurina. Yurina took a deep breath, tightly gripping the paper blade in her hand, and thrust it deeply into the final corner of the circle.
“The Third Magatsutsuno, ‘Thousand Cranes.'”
White light flowed from the blade, connecting with the auras of the other eight Magatsutsuno. In an instant, a dazzling pillar of light burst forth from the blood pool, shooting straight into the sky!
In the game scene atop Mount Fuji, Yurina Ryuhaku, who was battling the corpse god, seemed to sense something and suddenly turned his head. His pupils dilated slightly.
“Sister?!”
At the foot of the mountain, the paper crane sealing Amemiya Haruki suddenly dissipated.
He stumbled to the ground and looked up at the towering pillar of light, his eyes full of bitterness.
“Yurina…”
As the radius of the dazzling light pillar gradually expanded, Hoshimi Shota and Kohara Yoshiki exchanged glances and quickly retreated with Amemiya Haruki. The light rapidly consumed the surrounding land, obliterating everything in its path.
The light pillar pierced the clouds, shooting straight upward at an incredible speed. After rising to an unknown height, there was a tremendous boom as if it had hit some invisible barrier, and terrifying void cracks shattered across the endless sky!
It had reached the edge of the Yata Mirror.
Bang–!!
The void shattered, and the azure sky was forcibly punctured by the light pillar, creating a circular hole like a mirror with a pierced corner, rapidly crumbling from this hole!
Behind the hole was a dim world filled with mist.
The outline of a blade flowing with light was slowly traced at the top of the light pillar.
Overwhelming killing intent surged from the blade’s edge, and terrifying divine power rippled outward from the phantom blade, rapidly spreading throughout the “Human Circle” and the misty world. Rings of black and gold light expanded frantically across the heavens.
A divine weapon was about to manifest.
Within the pillar of light.
Yurina opened her eyes in confusion.
Her physical body had been ground to dust the moment the light pillar rose, and her translucent soul slowly descended with the rising pillar, seeming about to dissolve into the light.
At that moment, shadows flew up from below, and an elderly hand gently pressed against the falling Yurina’s back.
Yurina turned her head to see Grandmother Crane standing below her, stepping on countless paper cranes with a smile. A warm energy flowed through her hand into Yurina’s body, rapidly solidifying her soul!
“After the nine blades unite, we original blade spirits will separate from the Magatsutsuno.” Komori Yuki’s form appeared beside Yurina, smiling as he spoke, “Therefore, this new divine Magatsutsuno needs a new blade spirit…
From now on, soul and blade as one, immortal and eternal.
Though you won’t be as free as before, this will at least preserve your soul, allowing you to remain in this world.
Young lady, what do you think?”
Yurina was stunned for a moment before hope appeared in her eyes. She nodded without hesitation, “Yes!”
Who would choose death if they could live?
“Your soul is too weak to bear the power of this new Magatsutsuno. Before we leave, we will lend you our strength.” A figure in white clothes with white hair stepped out from the water’s reflection, also placing a hand on Yurina’s back.
Surging power frantically poured into her body.
Yurina blinked, about to express thanks, when two more figures walked side by side from within the light pillar before her.
One was a host wearing a yellow floral yukata, the other a voluptuous fox woman in a vermillion haori.
Kogane held a black statue in his left hand as he approached with a smile; beside him, Takehime held a frantically struggling red bird in one hand and a purple marten in the other, her alluring eyes full of domineering spirit.
“Little Yurina.” Kogane spoke gently, “Today, we help you… ascend to divinity.”
The nine blade spirits of the Magatsutsuno, whether willingly or forced, each channeled part of their power into Yurina’s body. Within the ascending pillar of light, Yurina’s aura rose rapidly, forming a mysterious connection with the divine weapon’s phantom taking shape in the sky.
Ding–!!
A clear blade ring echoed across the heavens as divine power surged like a tide into Yurina’s body. The light in her eyes grew increasingly brilliant!
She had become this divine weapon’s spirit.
Becoming a weapon spirit meant having no physical body, purely relying on the divine weapon’s power to reach divinity. Now she had become like Raiju, the Yata Mirror’s spirit – a pseudo-divine being without the power of laws.
Yurina’s form rapidly ascended along the towering pillar of light, finally merging into the blade that was gradually taking shape.
A dazzling white light flashed across the sky of the “Human Circle.”
…
The black and gold blade extended infinitely, clearly reflecting the azure sky like a dark lake. When the breeze passed over, not a single ripple stirred.
A figure gently descended upon this black and gold lake.
Her pristine feet touched down lightly as she danced like a butterfly above it. Her black kimono with cherry blossom pattern was immaculate, and her black hair was pinned up with a cherry blossom hairpin that sparkled faintly in the sunlight.
Yurina stood upon the black and gold lake surface, lowering her head slightly, her eyes gazing at the “Human Circle” world below the heavens.
Wisps of hair danced in the wind as she raised her hand, pointing down at the world below,
Her bell-like voice echoed across the black and gold lake surface:
“Create world…”
