Chapter 892 Lin Qiye’s Choice

Lin Qiye was afraid, truly afraid. Fear he had never experienced before occupied his mind.

The tragic end of the [Mask] team replayed in his mind over and over again. He could already see the scenes of those familiar faces being erased from existence one by one after the time law’s erasure descended.

Jialan, An Qingyu, Jiang Er, Cao Yuan, Baili Pangpang, Shen Qingzhu…

Wang Mian possessed [Time Sequence Rebel]. As long as he could get out of here, there would still be a chance to travel through time and save everyone in the future, but Lin Qiye was different.

For him, the things lost, the people lost, could never be recovered.

“Jialan!!!” Lin Qiye tightly held Jialan’s shoulders. Though his mind wasn’t corrupted by the Red Moon, his eyes were completely red, “Are you going to let me live alone?! Are you going to make me watch you all die?! Do you think I can live on peacefully by myself like this?!!”

His roars echoed in the deep sea as Lin Qiye’s body trembled uncontrollably. Though Jialan’s mind was tortured into confusion by the Red Moon, she still persisted through gritted teeth, refusing to withdraw [Immortality] even as Lin Qiye roared beside her ear.

She just silently and stubbornly embraced Lin Qiye’s body.

The overwhelming power of erasure enveloped Lin Qiye’s heart. He looked up to see that silver ring in the deep sea rapidly expanding in his eyes…

Dong–!!

At this moment, that silver ring suddenly trembled and its expansion speed suddenly slowed, as if some invisible force was struggling to resist its extension!

The time law’s erasure power was forcibly withstood. Although the ring was still expanding, its speed was much slower than before.

This hadn’t appeared in Wang Mian’s previous loop.

Lin Qiye was slightly stunned seeing this scene, hope appearing in his eyes.

Though the ring’s expansion was hindered, it hadn’t completely stopped, meaning that force resisting the time law wasn’t its match. The time law would erase everything, it was just a matter of time… but with time, it meant everything had room for maneuver again.

Although Lin Qiye didn’t know what was happening outside, this was his last chance.

His fists clenched tightly.

Lin Qiye didn’t waste time trying to persuade Jialan anymore, but moved his gaze from the silver ring to… the [Yiyuan] blade stuck in the stomach wall.

His eyes flickered with unprecedented madness!

Before him, there was still one path,

A path that could save everyone in the [Night Curtain] team.

…

Fishing village.

The black qi flame danced ferociously, shooting straight to the sky, seeming to connect with the heavens.

Within these endless black flames, that towering giant shadow stood firm like a mountain, hands desperately holding up the silver ring formed by the time law in front of it. The flames all over its body were rapidly flickering, its pale face extremely twisted.

Under its feet, the ground shattered inch by inch, the land sank, and the churning seawater at the coast directly rushed into the fishing village like an enraged beast, rapidly submerging everything.

Heaven collapsed and earth sank, black flames burned the sky, seawater surged wildly.

Like doomsday.

The towering giant shadow used all its strength to hold up the silver ring, letting out roars of rage. The black chains locked on its body clanked loudly, but the time river flowing within the ring still advanced irreversibly.

At this moment, it seemed to notice something, those pupilless eyes slightly narrowed, looking at a certain part of the ring.

In a certain place of the time river, a narrow crack lay quietly in the corner, like a flaw in an otherwise perfect jade bracelet, flickering with faint light.

That was the gap left when Wang Mian escaped the loop.

It growled lowly, left hand still firmly holding up the silver ring while freeing its right hand, reaching into the roaring sea of qi flames, slowly lifting up!

The dancing qi flames wove together into a hundred-meter-tall black blade, held in its hand, emanating a heart-palpitating pressure. It raised the black blade in hand, aimed at where the ring’s gap was, and violently thrust forward!

The burning black blade edge embedded into the gap, cracks spread out from the center like a spider web, black flames traveled along the cracks, rapidly corroding the time river.

As the black blade cut deeper and deeper, those cracks spread along the ring at an alarming speed. When the black blade chopped down through the ring from top to bottom, a crisp explosion sounded, and a corner of the massive time loop was directly cut off!

This corner was only about one-twentieth of the huge loop’s area, but it meant this ring had split from the center and was no longer complete, it could no longer even be called a “ring.”

Its head and tail could no longer connect.

The loop being broken meant everything here could no longer be reset, but the time law’s erasure power hadn’t stopped.

The remaining large section of the silver ring was still slowly but firmly expanding outward. The towering giant shadow supporting the silver ring with one hand began trembling uncontrollably, the chains all over its body colliding densely, seeming to have reached its limit.

…

Deep sea.

Lin Qiye stared at the [Yiyuan] blade surrounded by flowing light rings, his eyes full of struggle and madness.

Just pulling out that blade would end the loop, no one would sacrifice, they could all survive… but similarly, it would also cause some extremely terrifying, irreversible consequences.

The future Wang Mian went back to the past at all costs to set up a loop here, which was enough to show the severity of the matter. Even when trapped in the loop and facing the risk of total annihilation, Wang Mian under the Red Moon’s mental influence still controlled himself and didn’t choose to pull out that blade.

Whether it was the current Wang Mian or the future Wang Mian, both were prepared to defend Great Xia even at the cost of losing everything.

But… Lin Qiye wasn’t Wang Mian.

He was very clear-headed, he knew pulling out this blade might cause irreversible consequences, might cause countless deaths… but to witness his brothers and comrades die before his eyes right now, he couldn’t do that either.

Along this journey, the [Night Curtain] team meant more than just a team to him, and the others meant more than just team members to him.

They were brothers, comrades, people who could entrust their lives to each other with absolute trust.

Lin Qiye didn’t cherish many people in his life, but every member of the [Night Curtain] team was among them.

The masses, or brothers…

Lin Qiye chose the latter.
