Chapter 670: “Invaders of the Pure Land”

Rina Yuzu already knew what happened next.

Uncle Kyosuke’s gaze was fixed on the distant sky, as if he wanted to penetrate the vastness of space and see the “Pure Land” floating above Tokyo.

“I know that after all these years, I haven’t been able to be by your side. I’m sorry for you and Akiko… but the one I feel most sorry for is your brother,” Uncle Kyosuke said hoarsely. “It’s been thirteen years. He has been left in the ‘Pure Land’ for thirteen years.

Every time I close my eyes during these thirteen years, I think of his small body filled with tubes, locked away in a small room like an animal… I don’t know what those oracles in the ‘Pure Land’ have turned him into.

Whenever I think of this, I can’t sleep through the night. If it weren’t for me, he wouldn’t have to suffer like this…”

Uncle Kyosuke’s body trembled slightly.

Rina Yuzu sat on the bed, unsure how to comfort Uncle Kyosuke, and simply hugged him from behind, softly saying, “Dad… you’ve tried really hard.”

Uncle Kyosuke took a deep breath, suppressing the swirling sadness and anger in his heart, and held Rina Yuzu in his arms, forcing a smile at the corner of his mouth: “Just wait, little Yuzu. One day, Dad will rescue your brother… Although I don’t know what kind of person he has become after all these years of being trained by the oracles, I hope you won’t dislike him…”

Rina Yuzu shook her head, her long black hair swaying gently behind her. “I won’t! He’s my brother! I will definitely protect him.”

Uncle Kyosuke smiled and gently patted her head. “Good, go to sleep.”

…

Tokyo.

Above the dazzling neon city, a mysterious disc stood atop the clouds, emitting a faint glow in the night sky, enchanting and filled with a sense of technology.

In the central area of this disc, in the core control room, a boy sat on a Japanese tatami mat, facing a low square table with a shogi board on it, the game in a tense stalemate.

The boy squinted at the board, seemingly deep in thought, his face delicate and fair beneath his glasses.

A Bluetooth headset hung from his left ear.

After a long while, he picked up a piece and placed it on the board, then looked up at the empty tatami mat across from him, a shy smile appearing on his face as he gently said, “Jiang Er, it’s your turn.”

A white figure floated out from the electronic screen in the control room, landing lightly on the tatami mat opposite the boy like a butterfly. It was a cool girl dressed in a snow-white long dress, who was now seriously examining the board. At the same time, all the electronic devices in the control room began to flicker!

After a moment, her expression turned a bit troubled.

“Another unsolvable deadlock… You’ve won again this time.” Jiang Er sighed, her voice transmitted through the Bluetooth headset to An Qingyu’s ear. She said gloomily, “I clearly used all the computing power of the nanocomputers here, why can’t I beat you? Are you really human?”

An Qingyu’s smile grew even brighter. “Don’t you know whether I’m human or not?”

“Hmph, I’m not playing chess with you anymore!” Jiang Er stood up, a bit annoyed.

“Are you angry?”

“Well… not really.”

“You look really good today.”

“… I’m always wearing that white dress! Can’t you put a little more thought into your compliments?” Jiang Er rolled her eyes.

An Qingyu pondered for a moment. “How about you change into something else? I’ll compliment you again.”

Jiang Er’s mouth twitched slightly. She initially wanted to roll her eyes again, but then seemed to think of something, a faint blush appearing on her cheeks. After hesitating for a moment, she stood up and gently turned around in the air.

In the next moment, her figure flickered like the static of an old television, and after a brief flash, her clothes had changed.

It was a blue yukata adorned with small yellow flowers, reminiscent of flowers drifting over a bright sea, exuding a tranquil elegance with a hint of sunny vitality, much like a girl’s heart before falling in love, wanting to be reserved yet unable to suppress her feelings.

A hairpin held up her black hair. Standing before An Qingyu in this yukata, she clasped her hands behind her back, tilting her head slightly to the side, and softly asked, “How about this? I found this in the database. It seems like this kind of clothing is quite popular in this country, so I wanted to try it. If it doesn’t look good…”

“It looks good.”

An Qingyu interrupted Jiang Er’s rambling, nodding seriously. “Really good.”

The blush on Jiang Er’s face deepened. She boldly shifted her gaze back to An Qingyu. “Then… I’ll wear it all day long, okay?”

“You can wear it as long as you want.”

A smile appeared on Jiang Er’s face as she sat down beside An Qingyu, looking up at the flickering electronic screens above. After a long while, she slowly spoke, “Qingyu.”

“Yes?”

“We’ve been drifting here for over a year, right?”

“One year and four months.”

“One year and four months, and it’s just been the two of us…” Jiang Er fell silent for a moment. “I wonder where everyone else is now…”

“We’ll know soon.” An Qingyu turned to look at her. “Once your invasion is fully completed and you gain control over the entire ‘Pure Land,’ we will be able to find out their whereabouts.”

“Mm…”

“What’s the current level of control?”

“It’s reached 46% today, but with the oracles here, if I directly launch a large-scale invasion, it would be easily detected, so the progress is slow…”

“That’s fine, we can take our time. The priority now is to gain absolute authority over the prison area.” An Qingyu glanced at the shogi board in front of her. “Calculating the time, the progress at Yuzu Heizhe’s place should be nearly complete. This last move is crucial…”

“I’ve completely opened up the prison area today, and I’ve gained all the permissions there,” Jiang Er said.

An Qingyu’s eyes lit up. “Start the information retrieval. First, find out the whereabouts of Yuzu Heizhe’s son.”

“Okay.”

Jiang Er nodded, slowly closing her eyes, and the countless electronic screens around her began to flicker violently.

After a long while, Jiang Er opened her eyes, her expression somewhat strange.

“Did you find anything?”

“I found the location of Subject 0.” Jiang Er paused. “However, I also found something else…”

“Something else?” An Qingyu asked in confusion. “Besides him, what else is in the prison area?”

“For example… a certain Cao thief?”

An Qingyu was taken aback.

“Cao…”

After a moment, he came to his senses, quickly leaping up from the tatami mat, his eyes filled with shock. “Cao Yuan?!!”
