Chapter 1490 The Elderly and Weak
Olympus.
“Why hasn’t the God King returned yet…”
In front of the cracked golden throne, many Olympian gods gathered, gazing at the distant sea.
Kronos’s sudden return surprised everyone. All were aware of the old God King’s power. Zeus had angered him and likely wouldn’t face a good outcome. Everyone had already begun considering how to deal with the old God King once he resumed control of Olympus.
Strangely though, the two had been away from Mount Olympus for almost a full day. Even if Zeus was fighting Kronos to the death, at least one of them should have returned by now.
“The law of time has disappeared?!” Poseidon, the sea god, looked up at the sky as if sensing something, his face showing disbelief. “The old God King is dead?! How is this possible??”
All the major gods present simultaneously sensed the change in the law of time, utterly shocked.
Zeus actually killed Kronos? How did he manage that?!
Si Xiaonan, disguised as a minor deity, stood at the edge of the crowd, her brows tightly furrowed.
She had thought Kronos’s return would set Olympus back on the right track, but she never imagined that the God of Time would die… Zeus alone certainly couldn’t have accomplished this. Perhaps a deity from the Ke system had intervened?
As everyone sensed Kronos’s death, all of Olympus fell into chaos. Just then, a figure staggered down from the sky, landing before the gods.
It was a white-haired old man with a bare upper body. His form resembled a withered leaf in winter – frail and haggard. Aged spots covered his skin, his features wrinkled and shriveled, as if he might pass away at any moment.
The gods were stunned by this unfamiliar figure. Some stared at the aged face for a long time before exclaiming in shock:
“God King?!!!”
The gods were horrified!
This decrepit old man was actually Zeus?!
Originally, though Zeus appeared as an old man, by divine standards he was still in his prime, evident from his strong muscles and tall stature…
But now, he had become like this?!
He had only left Olympus for a day, how could he suddenly look hundreds of years older than even Kronos?
“Cough, cough, cough…” The aged Zeus coughed violently, fresh blood dripping down his back. Only then did the gods notice a black hole in his back, as if pierced by some rod-like object, missing his heart by a mere fraction.
The remnants of time flowed around the wound. The muscle in that area had completely died from aging and continued to spread outward.
This was the wound left by Kronos.
“God King… are you alright?” Poseidon frowned deeply, stepping forward to support him.
Zeus’s cloudy eyes flashed with anger. His twig-like arm pushed away Poseidon’s hand, his wrinkled face showing familiar stubbornness. “Get lost…”
Poseidon opened his mouth, then silently stepped back.
Seeing this, Si Xiaonan’s eyes flashed with insight. She immediately turned to retrieve a sturdy black staff from the edge of the mountain and respectfully presented it to Zeus.
Zeus glanced at her from the corner of his eye, took the black staff, and used it like a cane to slowly shuffle toward the golden throne at the center of the mountain.
The Olympian gods stood on both sides, exchanging glances, but no one offered to help.
It took Zeus a full half minute to move his body to the throne. His elderly frame trembled as he sat down on the cracked throne, looking down at the Olympian gods below, his chest slightly heaving.
“Kronos… has been killed by me.” Zeus slowly spoke. This simple sentence shocked everyone present.
“Next… I will… continue to rule Olympus… Do any of you… have objections?”
Zeus’s weak voice echoed intermittently across the mountain peak. Though not loud, everyone could clearly feel the cold intent hidden within.
“We are at the God King’s command.”
Si Xiaonan was the first to step forward and bow respectfully.
Zeus narrowed his eyes, a flash of approval deep within them.
“We are at the God King’s command.” The other Olympian gods exchanged glances and spoke in unison.
Even a dying camel is larger than a horse. Though Zeus had become like this, he was still a supreme being. Who knew how much fighting power remained in that broken body?
Even if some harbored rebellious thoughts, they weren’t foolish enough to reveal them now. They would slowly test Zeus’s limits before making plans.
“Good…” Zeus narrowed his eyes, releasing a murderous intent from his withered body. “Mobilize all Olympian gods in secret, prepare to follow me… to kill Brahma!”
Brahma had betrayed Zeus, who had long wanted to tear him to pieces. Now in his current state, if he didn’t use his remaining strength to kill Brahma first, as his condition worsened further, all of Olympus might end up being renamed “Temple of the Sky God.”
If the fully restored evil Brahma saw Zeus in this state, he would surely seize the opportunity to attack and take over Olympus!
“Yes.” The gods responded solemnly.
Zeus’s gaze swept over the gods, finally landing on Si Xiaonan disguised as a minor deity.
“You, from now on, will attend to me personally.”
“Yes!”
Si Xiaonan’s eyes flashed with insight as she immediately responded.
With a solemn expression, she walked behind Zeus’s golden throne, standing respectfully, looking down as the many Olympian gods dispersed to prepare for killing Brahma… Outside, whether a group of major gods plus a weakened Zeus could kill Brahma was uncertain, but this was Olympus!
On their territory, if Zeus was determined to trap Brahma, the latter would have no escape.
Si Xiaonan watched the busy Greek gods below in silence. A bloody storm was about to sweep through Olympus.
…
Great Xia.
Chennan Pass.
An Qingyu leaned against the cold metal table, looking at a wall full of formulas and maps. He rubbed his tired eyes and sighed helplessly.
Over the past few days, he had collected various materials that might retain space-time information, calculating and deducing day and night. Yet despite this, there wasn’t the slightest clue… The information remaining on those items was too scarce to locate their space-time position.
“Qingyu, take a rest.”
Jiang Er floated by the wall, her eyes full of concern. She gently raised her hand, and a stainless steel basin with a hot towel automatically floated up and landed beside An Qingyu.
An Qingyu grabbed the hot towel and pressed it against his haggard face. After a long while, he slowly lowered it, his bloodshot eyes filled with bitterness.
