Chapter 1358 End of Volume Afterword 4
Phew…
The fourth volume “Symphony of Fallen Gods,” with about 700,000 words, has finally come to an end.
This word count was actually within my expectations, as there was indeed a lot of content to cover in this volume.
The new and old kings of the capital, the new recruit training at Kunlun Mountain, the Peach Banquet at Kunlun Void, the Heavenly Venerable’s return to Great Xia, the Battle of the Monument, Heaven and Hell and the departure of the cool guy, the Emperor of Domination, [Utopia], the Agents’ gathering, the King’s Treasury, killing Loki, destroying the Norse, slaying Odin, Bragi’s wish…
Up to now, most of the foreshadowing in this volume has been resolved. Si Xiaonan fulfilled her long-cherished wish, Bragi found his wife, Michael completed his mission, Sun Wukong returned to Great Xia, everything has reached perfection… ahem, except for a few heartbreaking moments. (Dog head)
As I’ve said before, throughout this volume, not a single plot point was superfluous, and there was no padding or deliberately dragging the pace. I know this statement will surely provoke criticism from some people, but I can say with a clear conscience that I have no regrets.
Some might think that since “God Slayer” has achieved some success, I would definitely try to drag out the story to increase the word count and earn more money… As I said in my previous book, a story should end when it’s meant to end, and “God Slayer” is no exception. No matter how successful this book becomes, I will never forcibly extend it or slow it down, as that would be disrespectful to both the work itself and all the readers.
According to my plan, this book still has two volumes left before completion.
The main theme running through this volume is “revenge.”
Si Xiaonan’s revenge against Loki;
Bragi’s revenge against Thor;
Great Xia’s revenge against the Norse who released the world-ending mist.
The grievances of Cangnan’s destruction, the entanglements of the Norse father and brothers, and all the origins and causes from a hundred years ago have come to an end with the conclusion of this volume.
The next volume, which is the fifth volume of this book, will resolve all the major foreshadowing laid out in the previous four volumes. It’s also a very important volume, marking the end of an era and the beginning of a new one, as well as serving as a prelude to the final volume.
Recently, I encountered a writing bottleneck and spent a lot of time designing, planning, and adjusting my state, reducing my original three updates per day to two. You may have noticed that I’ve been trying to restore the three updates schedule lately… Of course, I could use “adjustment and planning” as an excuse to continue with two updates until the end of this book, which would be much easier for me and would extend the update time, earning me a few more months of royalties.
But after a period of adjustment, I’ve decided to restore the three updates schedule to ensure a better reading experience for all readers while maintaining better control over the pace.
At this point, some people will surely say, “Your chapters are so short, what reading experience are you talking about?”… Well… I’ve only been writing books for a little over a year, and I type slowly. Producing three updates of 6,000 words daily without compromising quality is already approaching my limit. Recently, to get more votes for the awards with four updates, I’ve been sitting from 9 AM to 9 PM. Excluding more than three hours for meals and rest, I spend at least nine hours sitting in front of the computer every day, either conceptualizing or typing.
Because I haven’t been writing at such a high intensity for a long time, I need a short period to adapt. That’s why some chapters in the past two days have fluctuated in word count, making them seem even shorter. However, I can guarantee that I’ll adjust quickly and stabilize the word count for each chapter. Daily updates will only exceed 6,000 words, not less. Even if I have to reduce updates due to special circumstances, I’ll explain clearly at the end of the chapter.
Considering that many readers of this book are students, I’ve almost never asked for tips or gifts since the beginning, except on my birthday.
However, now that “God Slayer” is being evaluated for awards, I still hope that everyone can move their fingers daily to cast free votes for this book. After all, who doesn’t want their hard work to achieve a good ranking?
The bigger the tree, the more wind it catches. With the recent awards evaluation, a wave of haters has flooded in. I hope everyone won’t be swayed by them. If it affects your reading experience, you can directly block the paragraph comments.
Finally, I hope that with the joint efforts of myself and all readers, we can make this book better and better!
The next volume, “Who We Once Were,” please look forward to it!
As is the international custom, sending heart emojis to all my lovely readers!
