Chapter 1337 Disaster Strikes
“What is that thing?”
During the divine battle, several Norse gods seemed to sense something and simultaneously looked up toward the mountain peak.
A strange red glow was spreading from the clouds. Through the thick mist, one could vaguely see the outline of a massive crimson eyeball slowly gazing down upon the land of Asgard.
The forest god Vidar’s figure flashed repeatedly in mid-air, struggling to dodge the cold gleam of the three-pointed double-edged blade.
Yang Jian, wearing a silver robe, emitted a deep blue divine light from the vertical pupil on his forehead. The beam shot forth, and in the next moment, the space around Vidar seemed to freeze, forcibly locking him in place.
The three-pointed double-edged blade effortlessly sliced through Vidar’s neck. His form immediately transformed into a withered treant, split in half. A shadowy figure darted away, materializing as Vidar several kilometers away, staggering backward.
He gritted his teeth while staring at Yang Jian, grabbing a tree branch spear and preparing to attack again when his peripheral vision caught the crimson light in the distance.
His brow furrowed, confusion appearing in his eyes…
“The aura of Cthulhu?” Yang Jian held the three-pointed double-edged blade in one hand, his vertical pupil locking onto the crimson glow above the divine mountain. His expression immediately darkened. “You Asgardians are actually hiding such a disgusting thing?”
“This has nothing to do with Asgard,” Vidar said coldly. “Don’t make false accusations.”
He snorted coldly, about to charge forward with his spear, but his foot froze mid-step.
His form became like a statue, fixed in place.
Vidar’s frown deepened. He seemed to sense something and looked down at his chest in confusion.
Without warning, something beneath his clothing had swollen, like a fleshy lump. Looking carefully, one could see it was imperceptibly expanding, twisting… or rather, squirming.
Vidar grabbed his chest garment and forcefully tore it off, then his pupils suddenly contracted!
Standing opposite him, Yang Jian’s pupils also constricted in shock!
On Vidar’s chest, a ping-pong ball-sized fleshy nodule had grown round and hard. A crack suddenly burst open from the center of the nodule, and countless crimson small insects frantically squirmed out, quickly forming a strange insect eye!
This insect eye continued to squirm, like a curious newborn examining its surroundings. When it made eye contact with Vidar, his face turned deathly pale!
“What disgusting abomination is this?!!”
Even though Vidar had been overwhelmed by Yang Jian until he was covered in wounds, he hadn’t shown a trace of fear. But now, he was truly terrified by this insect eye that had suddenly appeared on his chest.
Without another word, he violently grabbed the patch of skin where the insect eye was located and tore it off, forcibly ripping away this strange eyeball along with his flesh!
Blood splattered everywhere as he crushed the crimson insect eye in his palm. Disgusting sticky fluid flowed from the crushed insect corpse as Vidar’s chest heaved violently.
Yang Jian, standing not far away, witnessed this scene, but his expression showed no improvement. Instead, it grew even more grave.
Just as Vidar breathed a sigh of relief, he suddenly felt an itch on his shoulder.
He couldn’t help but turn to look, and a fist-sized crimson insect eye squirmed as it made eye contact with him…
His shoulder had somehow grown another fleshy nodule.
Vidar’s eyes trembled uncontrollably!
“No… impossible!!” Vidar’s terrified voice echoed in the sky. “What are these things?!!”
Not just his shoulder, but his hand, the back of his neck, his thigh… several fleshy nodules bulged up one after another. Cracks opened, and crimson insect eyes squirmed out competitively. The once dignified forest god, in just a matter of seconds, had become a monster covered in crimson eyeballs!
Vidar suddenly roared, frantically crushing these squirming insect eyes with his hands. But for every few he crushed, more eyes would emerge.
In less than half a minute, he was covered in blood!
Suddenly, his hand paused in the midst of crushing eyeballs, and he forcefully covered his ears, his pale face completely drained of color.
“Who is it? Who’s speaking…?”
“Damn it! Get out of my mind! Get out… get out!!”
“Stop it… all of you stop it!! Shut up!!”
“…”
Vidar seemed to have gone mad, covering his ears and shouting continuously. His eyes trembled and grew unfocused as a crimson insect eye slowly burst from his forehead…
Yang Jian looked around, his expression more solemn than ever before.
Forest god Vidar’s situation was not an isolated case.
All the Norse gods present had crimson insect eyes bursting from their bodies. Terrified roars and screams filled the entire battlefield.
However, not everyone was as severely affected as Vidar. Some only had two or three insect eyes emerge, while others had hideous nodules all over their bodies with red insect shadows rolling beneath their skin, creating an eerie sight.
The common trait was that they all uncontrollably covered their ears, as if someone had grabbed their heads and was screaming directly into their eardrums.
This scene left all the Xia gods and human powerhouses stunned.
“…Is this for real?” Agni, the Indian fire god who had escaped from prison, muttered as he looked at the hellish scene before him. “Is the Disaster Horn [Gjallarhorn]… really this powerful?”
On the ground not far away, a bloody figure gradually grew limbs and flesh, taking the shape of Si Xiaonan.
She was also stunned by the scene before her.
The moment she blew [Gjallarhorn], her body had begun to shatter and explode. Despite this, she hadn’t stopped until her entire body had been reduced to bloody pulp on the ground, only then releasing the horn.
Under the effect of the rebirth pill, Si Xiaonan’s body rapidly regenerated, quickly returning to her original form. She picked up the fallen [Gjallarhorn] from beside her, initially planning to blow it again, but hesitated when she saw the scene before her…
Fleshy nodules growing, insect eyes squirming, gods breaking down… this didn’t look like a conventional disaster by any measure.
Fortunately, this condition only appeared among the Norse gods. Because of this, Si Xiaonan abandoned the idea of blowing the Disaster Horn a second time…
This disaster was too bizarre. She worried that if she blew it a second time and the disaster worsened, even the Xia gods might be affected.
