Chapter 1293 Sol and Bragi
After Tyr’s divine might disappeared, Lin Qiye’s tense body gradually relaxed.
He let out a long breath and continued to observe the interior of the great hall. Sif was standing beside Thor’s throne, gently massaging the corner of his eye. Behind her, two handmaidens with empty flower baskets had tears in their eyes, their heads lowered almost to the ground, faces full of grievance.
Behind Thor’s throne, a giant golden sword was thrust into the ground like a small mountain, divine light flowing around it, solemn and sacred.
That was the only key to open the Rainbow Bridge, the Holy Rainbow Sword.
“Myles, have you made any discoveries during the days we were away?”
Thor asked from his throne.
Lin Qiye hesitated for a moment, then said seriously:
“Yes.”
“What discoveries?”
“I prophesied that today several unexpected guests would come to visit Lord Thor.”
“Oh?”
Hearing Lin Qiye’s answer, Thor’s face showed surprise. “Unexpected guests?”
Now that Asgard’s Rainbow Bridge to the outside world was disconnected, no outsiders should be able to enter. And within Asgard, who could be considered unexpected guests?
“I hope this time, your prophecy doesn’t fail again…” Tyr narrowed his eyes at Lin Qiye and spoke slowly.
“You may go now.”
Thor seemed tired and waved his hand at Myles.
Lin Qiye nodded and was about to turn and leave when, just as he pushed open the heavy temple doors, four streams of light whooshed down from the sky!
When they sensed these divine power fluctuations, Thor and the others were simultaneously startled.
They really came?
From within the streaming light, Bragi’s figure, dressed in dark gold ceremonial robes, gradually took shape, followed by the “Past” goddess Urd, the “Present” goddess Verdandi, and the “Future” goddess Skuld.
Seeing this, Lin Qiye quickly retreated to the side.
Bragi held a purple crystal in his hands, his expression as gloomy as storm clouds rolling across the sky. The moment his face appeared in the temple, Thor, Sif, and Tyr’s pupils suddenly contracted!
Thor abruptly stood up from his throne, his eyes filled with disbelief.
“Bragi!??”
“Is it you? Weren’t you dead long ago?” Tyr also spoke in shock.
Sif’s gaze focused as if remembering something. She turned to look at the two handmaidens behind her. When they had returned, they had mentioned that Bragi had taken their flowers, but she thought they had either been mistaken or were making excuses. After all, a hundred years ago, Bragi should have perished in the mist along with Idunn.
Now it seemed they hadn’t been mistaken…
Bragi had truly returned.
Bragi slowly came to a stop in the center of the temple. His handsome face lifted up, calmly looking at Thor sitting on the throne, and Tyr and Sif beside him.
“Long time no see… Thor, Tyr, Sif.”
In the deathly silent temple, only Bragi’s echoing voice remained.
Thor stood stunned before the throne for a full few seconds before coming to his senses. He rushed down the steps, seemingly wanting to embrace Bragi:
“Bragi! My brother! You’re still alive!? Where have you been these hundred years? If you were alive, why didn’t you come back?”
Bragi frowned and stepped back half a pace, avoiding Thor’s embrace.
Thor froze in place.
Bragi’s reddened eyes stared fixedly at Thor before him. He spoke in a low voice:
“…I am not your brother.”
“Bragi, what are you…” Thor was stunned for a moment, instinctively raising his right hand to touch Bragi’s shoulder.
“A hundred years ago, if you hadn’t exploited Idunn’s kindness, trapping her in the Eternal Garden and forcibly taking almost all the fruits, how would she have died?” Bragi knocked away Thor’s hand and said coldly. “You never saw me as a brother… you only cared about your Asgard!
If you had thought a little more about Idunn and me back then, if you had left a few more fruits… how would we have ended up in this situation?!”
Bragi’s voice grew increasingly agitated, until at the end, it became almost a roar.
Previously, he didn’t know Idunn was dead, nor did he know what had happened back then. But after witnessing the past that Urd recreated for him, he saw everything clearly… including the scene of Thor asking Idunn for the youth fruits.
Tracing it to its source, the one who forced him and Idunn into their current predicament was none other than his brother Thor!
If it weren’t for still needing Thor to place Idunn into the Origin for resurrection, if it weren’t for the lingering brotherhood he still felt, Bragi would have killed Thor on the spot.
Thor stood motionless, and after a moment, his eyes revealed complex emotions.
“You’re right… I protected Asgard, but I failed you both…”
“It was never you who protected Asgard! It was my wife! It was Idunn!!” Bragi roared. “You, Thor, are nothing but a thief who gained the admiration of all Asgard at the cost of my wife’s life! You’re a hypocrite!!”
He suddenly reached out and grabbed Thor’s collar, pulling him close, as if wanting to tear him apart.
Seeing this, Tyr and Sif by the throne changed their expressions simultaneously and were about to rush over when Thor extended his hand to stop them.
“I wronged you, I wronged Idunn…” Thor looked into Bragi’s eyes and said sincerely,
“If you truly hate me that much, then go ahead and kill me… I’ll use my life to pay for Idunn’s. Will that suffice?”
Bragi’s chest heaved violently, his bloodshot eyes full of struggle and pain. His fingers gripping Thor’s collar turned white from the force. He let out a low growl and suddenly pushed Thor away forcefully!
“I don’t want your life! I just want my wife back!” Bragi took a deep breath, trying to calm himself down. “I… want Asgard’s divine Origin.”
“The divine Origin?” Thor frowned. “What do you want that for?”
“I want to use it to resurrect my wife.”
Bragi repeated Verdandi’s words. Thor turned his head in confusion to look at the three silent goddesses behind him.
“So that’s why the three goddesses suddenly left the valley and came here personally… you all came for this.” Thor nodded without hesitation and said,
“Using Asgard’s Origin is not a problem. This whole situation started because of me. Since there’s now a chance to resurrect Idunn, I will help you no matter what.”
Thor lifted his foot and stomped heavily on the center of the temple floor. Streams of hazy, illusory light condensed from nothingness, like a vast ocean, floating at the top of the temple.
Within this sea of illusory light, a crystal as transparent as a prism was slowly outlined.
