Chapter 1214 The Safest

“The Holy Grail”?

The agents inside the room were stunned. “Isn’t the Holy Grail outside the city? Myles and the others have just left…”

Agent No. 22’s expression changed repeatedly. He paced around the dimly lit room for a long time, then frowned and said:

“Something’s not right…”

“What’s not right?”

“I saw it. It was a dark gold goblet that could draw the flesh of desire incarnate and consumed the life force from my finger… That was definitely the King’s Holy Grail, no mistake.

But if that’s the case, then what is this Holy Grail in the dried-up oasis that Myles mentioned…”

“Could his prophecy be wrong?”

“Although that’s possible, I feel the matter isn’t that simple.” No. 22 was silent for a moment. “How could a prophet who has managed to fool more than twenty agents and two deities make a mistake specifically about this?

And he was so certain about it too.

Come to think of it, the fact that he rescued us from prison is suspicious in itself…”

“Are you saying he’s deceiving us?” Claude asked, confused. “Creating a fake Holy Grail and then leading so many agents to search for it? Why would he do that?

If he wanted to harm us, leaving us to fend for ourselves in the dungeon would have been the best approach, right? Why would he take such a risk?”

Everyone argued for a long time but couldn’t figure out the reason.

“Anyway, we’ll know everything when they return,” Claude sighed. “The urgent matter now is to get the King’s Scepter first, and the King’s Holy Grail that you just sensed.

Do you have a plan?”

“You go search for the Holy Grail. As for the Scepter… I have my methods. You can’t help with that.”

After speaking, No. 22 searched the house, found some local resident’s clothing, and skillfully took out tools to begin his disguise.

In just two minutes, an ordinary local resident of the Black City appeared before everyone.

His facial features, skin tone, and demeanor were very similar to a certain servant from the dungeon yesterday.

Such rapid and efficient transformation astonished everyone.

Before they could ask, No. 22 had already pushed open the door and walked straight out.

“How did he do that?” Claude asked in surprise.

One agent chuckled, “Don’t forget, he’s the most beloved male consort of the Lust God… What do you think he used to capture Philotheus’s heart?

His exquisite face? Strong body? Skillful techniques?

None of those.

It’s said that he could transform into different men with different temperaments in front of Philotheus every day for three to four years without repetition. Possessing him was like possessing countless handsome men, always maintaining freshness…

This level of disguise is just a small matter for him.”

Claude watched No. 22’s departing figure and nodded thoughtfully.

…

Outside Black City.

Desert.

Nearly twenty figures slowly advanced through the flying sand.

“Myles, since you know the location of the Holy Grail, why not fly there directly? Walking like this is too slow.”

One of the agents asked.

“Yes, we only have one day left with the marks inside our bodies… Will we make it in time at this rate?”

“We will,” Lin Qiye replied calmly. “I’m not letting you fly because I sense danger in the sky here…”

“Danger?”

An agent looked up at the sky in confusion. “Where’s the danger?”

“I don’t know,” Lin Qiye shrugged. “It’s just a prophet’s intuition… If you think walking is too slow, you can try flying.”

Hearing this, the agents hesitated.

Although they knew Lin Qiye’s prophecies were powerful, for them, time was life. If they spent too much time on the journey, they might not even survive to gather the divine artifacts and escape, dying within this treasury.

After much thought, two bold agents stepped forward.

One transformed into a rainbow streak, the other grew a pair of bird wings on his back, and they both soared into the sky, flying toward the distance.

Watching their silhouettes gradually disappear on the horizon, the agents questioned:

“It seems… there’s no problem?”

“Yeah, they’ve been flying for so long without issues. Could Myles’s intuition be wrong?”

“He’s just an agent after all, not an all-knowing deity. Making some mistakes is normal.”

“Then let’s fly too…”

Hearing everyone’s conversation, Lin Qiye glanced at the sky without speaking, just silently walking forward.

The group had barely exchanged a few words when they saw two figures rapidly rushing toward them from the distance!

It was the two agents who had flown away earlier.

They had pushed their speed to the limit, their expressions filled with terror, as if some horrifying monster was chasing them!

Everyone looked behind them and saw a blood-colored spear, a silver bird, and a pair of winged boots frantically pursuing the two.

The blood spear and silver bird each tracked one agent, vibrating slightly with a humming sound, as if rejoicing.

The winged boots kicked out countless afterimages in the air, rapidly closing the distance with the two agents.

They looked back and saw the boots almost kicking their backs. With terrified expressions and drawing on unknown reserves of strength, they increased their speed slightly.

At the same time, the boots’ speed also increased, and even faster than theirs!

Boom boom!!

The two boots struck the backs of the two agents heavily, shattering the rainbow light and wings. They violently spat blood and fell helplessly.

Simultaneously, the silver bird and blood spear pierced through their chests at an alarming speed!

Two streams of blood splattered in the air, followed by their broken bodies crashing into the desert, kicking up flying sand. The thick smell of blood hit the stunned agents’ faces.

Without looking, they knew the two agents were dead beyond recovery.

“Are… are those divine artifacts?” After a long while, someone stammered. “They didn’t chase us, did they?”

“No, their targets seem to be only flying objects,” someone said with relief.

“Fortunately we didn’t follow…”

“Is this desert so dangerous?”

“What a pity. Those two agents were at the ‘Klein’ level. If they had survived, they could have been useful when we face the two gods.”

Everyone sighed with regret.

They turned around to look at Lin Qiye, who had somehow walked ahead and was now just a distant figure, their eyes filled with awe.

“Indeed, following Myles is the safest option…”
