Chapter 1207 “King’s Treasury”

“Huh?”

Sitting in the tavern, Lin Qiye, who was constantly monitoring the situation in the central square with his spiritual power, let out a surprised sound.

The spiritual power he had spread out to sense the situation suddenly lost contact with him.

After hesitating for a moment, Lin Qiye quickly got up and left the tavern, walking to the roof of the nearest building to gaze into the distance.

He could see countless pale golden threads rising from the feet of the agents in the central square, all flying toward the city lord who stood majestically on the city wall, holding a golden scepter.

“It’s spiritual power…” Lin Qiye murmured as he watched those golden threads, “Their spiritual power is being drained?”

Meanwhile, the agents in the square fell into complete panic.

“My spiritual power is gone!”

“Mine too… I can’t use my divine void!”

“Damn it, what did that old man do?!”

In the crowd, Agent 22 stared blankly at the golden scepter in the city lord’s hand, as if remembering something, and muttered:

“[Scepter]… is that the King’s [Scepter]? This is bad…”

The golden threads from all over converged into the city lord’s body. This old man, who had shown no signs of spiritual power before, began to break through boundaries at a visible speed!

“Cup” realm, “Pool” realm, “River” realm, “Sea” realm, “Immeasurable” realm… “Klein”!

“That scepter can forcibly plunder others’ spiritual power to enhance one’s own realm?”

Witnessing this scene, Lin Qiye’s eyes were filled with shock!

What kind of divine artifact was that? How could it achieve such a feat?

The city lord’s pale hair floated up strand by strand. Holding the golden scepter, with brilliant golden eyes looking down at the panicking agents below, his entire being radiated the majesty of a sovereign.

He raised the scepter in his hand and struck the ground heavily once more!

Dong—!

A gale filled with powerful spiritual force instantly swept through the bodies of all agents present. They felt their vision darken and immediately collapsed to the ground.

There was only one exception.

Agent 38, wearing a black cloak, only swayed slightly under the impact of the spiritual storm before quickly stabilizing himself.

The gale blew off his hood, revealing a strange stitched face. He frowned, and a burst of intense light erupted from his feet beneath the cloak. He leaped up using his physical strength, instantly crossing over the towering city wall and disappearing into the vast desert.

“Trying to escape?” The city lord, holding the scepter, snorted coldly and said to the attendant beside him,

“Use the divine chains to lock them in prison. Tomorrow, behead them as offerings to the Three Gods.”

As his words fell, his figure transformed into a streak of light, pursuing Agent 38 who had fled.

After the city lord left, the attendants produced a thin silver chain from somewhere, bound all the agents together, and escorted them to a deep underground prison.

In the chaotic square, only some injured or frightened residents remained, anxiously recounting what had just happened to others who had just arrived.

Seeing this, Lin Qiye narrowed his eyes slightly, quietly left the square against the flow of people, and headed straight for the city lord’s mansion.

The agents’ invasion had thrown the entire Crow City into chaos, and the city lord, wielding the powerful scepter, had gone to hunt down the escaped Agent 38. Now was the best time to infiltrate the city lord’s mansion to search for clues.

The city lord’s mansion was located just four or five alleys away from the square, also a three-story low building made of brick and tile, with an ancient design. Most attendants had gone to arrest the agents or maintain order, leaving only two guards at the door.

Perhaps due to Crow City’s small population and simple customs, apart from the guards, there were almost no measures to prevent outsiders from entering. For Lin Qiye, infiltrating was not difficult at all.

After confirming with his spiritual power that no one was inside, Lin Qiye walked directly to the shadow of an alley across the street, used [Night Flash], bypassed the guarded main gate, and appeared on the second floor of the city lord’s mansion.

The second floor seemed to be the city lord’s living quarters, with no valuable clues. Lin Qiye silently moved along the stairs, heading straight up to the third floor.

The door to the third floor was securely locked with a bronze lock.

The moment he saw this bronze lock, Lin Qiye knew he had found the right place.

Fortunately, this bronze lock was virtually useless against Lin Qiye. He flashed through the door and looked around.

Behind the door were rows of sturdy wooden frames, neatly holding dozens of thumb-thick clay tablets inscribed with ancient cuneiform characters.

“This is…”

Lin Qiye pulled out a clay tablet from nearby and read it carefully, his eyes gradually brightening. “Information about divine artifacts?”

Thanks to the language magic, even these ancient cuneiform characters posed no difficulty for Lin Qiye to understand. The tablet in his hand contained information about the golden wine jug.

”

[Divine Wine Jug]: ‘Lesser Divine’ level artifact, automatically produces endless fine wines and liquors. The taste of the wine changes automatically according to the drinker’s preference. One of my king Gilgamesh’s most beloved divine artifacts.

Source: In the 121st year of the Uruk Dynasty, my king Gilgamesh conquered the western gods and seized this trophy from an unknown wine deity.

Maintenance: The [Divine Wine Jug] favors male beauty and dislikes flames. Regularly send strong men to perform masculine dances for it to please it to the greatest extent. When excited, it will spontaneously pour out fine wines.

Active region: (map)

”

A simple map was drawn in the corner of the clay tablet, marking the dried-up oasis that Lin Qiye had previously followed the large men to.

“One of Gilgamesh’s most beloved artifacts… tsk.” Lin Qiye put this tablet back and continued searching.

If he wasn’t mistaken, this room contained an inventory of all divine artifacts collected in Gilgamesh’s treasury, as well as maintenance methods left by the original forging family.

Lin Qiye counted carefully—there were sixty-one clay tablets in total.

That meant there were sixty-one divine artifacts hidden in this treasury?

Lin Qiye checked several clay tablets in succession, all describing non-combat “Lesser Divine” level artifacts. When he casually pulled down a tablet from the top of the wooden frame and scanned its contents, his eyes slightly contracted.

”

[King’s Treasury]: ‘Supreme’ level divine artifact, contains its own space, capable of storing divine artifacts of any level. It possesses the ‘Absolute Submission’ attribute—any artifact stored within the [King’s Treasury] will have its connection to its original owner forcibly severed and submit to the [King’s Treasury] itself.

Additionally, artifacts placed in the treasury have a high probability of developing sentience as time passes.

Source: Created from the edges of the [Sovereign] law after my king Gilgamesh established the law and ascended to divinity.

Maintenance: No maintenance required.

Location: None
