Chapter 1133 Execution Cross

As the ashes fell, Lin Qiye and his companion could see every scar on His back from such close proximity.

Sword wounds, claw marks, charred burns from lava… of the six pure white wings, three had been almost completely torn off at the roots, while the others were badly damaged.

He sat there silently, holding a giant sword with faint flame patterns flowing across its surface.

The moment he saw this great sword, Lin Qiye seemed to recall something and blurted out:

“Is it Uriel?”

“Uriel?”

“One of the legendary Seraphim.” Lin Qiye stared at the sword and said solemnly,

“After my eyes were burned by Michael more than ten years ago, I’ve been researching those Seraphim of the Western Holy Church… Among these Seraphim, only Uriel, the Hell Guardian who wields the power of judgment, would use a flaming great sword as a weapon.”

The figure before them was a Seraph of the same rank as Michael… no wonder his [Mortal Divine Domain] was ineffective here.

“But why would Uriel appear here…” Lin Qiye muttered, and as a thought flashed through his mind, he froze in place.

An Qingyu stared intently at the gradually turning figure, his voice somewhat hoarse:

“If He is a Seraph of Heaven, then He must have participated in the divine war between Heaven and Hell years ago, and in that war, only Michael survived alone…

This means that Uriel had already died in that divine war.

What we see before us is just His corpse.”

His guess aligned perfectly with Lin Qiye’s thoughts.

As the figure slowly turned around, an almost perfect profile emerged from the shadows before their eyes.

Deep red light poured down from the sky, and by this dim glow, Lin Qiye and his companion finally saw His true appearance.

There were no disgusting tumors or writhing pustules. It was a Western face no less magnificent than Michael’s, with every facial feature perfectly formed, extraordinarily handsome, with a hint of stern dignity between the brows.

His eyes were closed, and His downcast face was completely bloodless, almost as pale as the falling ashes around them, as if He were asleep.

Lin Qiye and his companion looked up at this figure over ten meters tall, both sighing in relief when they saw no large tumors on His body.

Just then, on that pale, downcast face, the left eye silently opened…

Countless red insects writhed frantically in the deeply sunken eye socket, completely devouring Uriel’s original eyeball. They then clustered together, rolling around in the socket before finally forming a massive red eyeball the size of a bowling ball.

This eyeball protruded significantly, forcibly cracking Uriel’s eye socket. After twisting for a moment, it fixed firmly on Lin Qiye and his companion.

The moment they saw this crimson eyeball, Lin Qiye and An Qingyu felt as if they had plunged into an icy abyss!

“Hehehehehe…”

“Jijijiji…”

“Gugugugugu…”

Various eerie laughs overlapped, emanating from Uriel’s broken body. That almost perfect face visibly distorted, becoming incredibly ferocious under the writhing of the crimson eyeball!

“Run in different directions!!”

Without any hesitation, Lin Qiye shouted, and the two sprinted off in completely opposite directions.

Neither of them was foolish. They clearly understood that the being before them was on an entirely different level from the demons hidden in the clouds and the vengeful spirits in the valley.

The ashes falling from the sky’s cracks could transform all corpses or souls. Those demons had been divine-realm beings in life, and after being reanimated by the transformed tumors and worms, their combat power was around the “Klein” level. Though numerous, Lin Qiye and his companion still had a chance to fight them.

But the one before them had been a Supreme God in life!

From the energy fluctuations when He opened His eyes, Uriel’s worm-controlled corpse, though far from His supreme level, was still above the divine realm. Lin Qiye and his companion had absolutely no chance of victory.

Previously, they had tried to escape together on the somersault cloud but couldn’t leave this crater. Now they could only place their hopes on splitting up. If the reanimated Uriel’s intelligence wasn’t high, they might still have a chance to survive.

But their hopes were shattered.

Uriel’s corpse slowly rose from the center of the crater, spreading His six broken white wings.

In the cracked eye socket, that huge red eyeball’s writhing insects suddenly split into two groups. The eyeball also divided in two, simultaneously watching both men fleeing in different directions.

The next moment, He raised His hand…

Lin Qiye and An Qingyu, who had reached the edge of the crater, suddenly froze as if some shackles had been placed on them. No matter how hard they tried, they couldn’t move forward even half a step.

Then, as Uriel’s finger curled slightly, a black cross appeared in the void behind each of them.

Thick chains extended from the center of the crosses, firmly binding their limbs and torsos, fixing them to the crosses.

The black crosses holding the two rose higher and higher, finally floating out of the crater at the mountain peak and hovering above the valley.

“The Archangel will judge the sinners!”

“Judge them!! Reveal their sins! Send these filthy creatures to hell!!”

“Hehehe… I am an angel! I am an angel!!”

“…”

In the valley where ashes danced wildly, two black crosses each held a figure wearing a deep red cloak. Countless huge tumors in the valley howled madly, their sharp roars torn to pieces by the wind.

“Damn it!!”

Lin Qiye gritted his teeth, trying to break free from the cross, but the chains wrapped around him seemed to completely seal both his spiritual power and physical body. He couldn’t use any forbidden domain, not even lift a finger.

The Ama-no-Murakumo sword, his only hope of cutting the chains, had been knocked into the valley the moment his body was frozen. Without being able to mobilize his spiritual power to cast summoning magic, he couldn’t bring it to his side.

An Qingyu turned his head anxiously, “Qiye! Can you escape? Don’t worry about me!”

For An Qingyu, dying on this cross wasn’t a big deal, since only one of his avatars was here, but it was different for Lin Qiye. If Lin Qiye died, he would truly be dead.

A bitter smile appeared at the corner of Lin Qiye’s mouth.

It wasn’t that he didn’t want to leave, but being chained to this cross, he truly had no way to escape.

If he wasn’t mistaken, what was behind them was the execution rack used by Heaven to judge all evil in the past. Even those demons with immense power couldn’t escape from it. Despite Lin Qiye’s countless abilities, escaping would be as difficult as ascending to heaven.
