Chapter 1044 Peach of Immortality

Creak—!

The gray-blue door was pushed open, and Lin Qiye stepped across the threshold, standing at the entrance of the room.

The style of Yaopool’s guest room was, just as the green-dressed maid had said, very simple in its arrangement, but upon careful examination, the placement of each item seemed to conceal profound principles, returning to natural simplicity.

Lin Qiye didn’t understand feng shui, much less the eight trigrams and fate calculation, but looking at this guest room before him, he felt an indescribable sense of mystery.

So this is where immortals dwell…

Lin Qiye sighed, stepping into the room, his fingertips sliding across the tables and chairs, feeling the tangible sensation of touching solid objects.

Everything here was real, not just fragments of time.

Does that mean the place where he now stood was actually a guest room in the real Kunlun Void?

The guest room was real, and the furnishings inside were real, but whether they appeared as new and clean as they looked to Lin Qiye’s eyes remained unknown.

After walking around the room, Lin Qiye stepped back outside, standing in the spacious courtyard at the entrance, overlooking the surrounding ethereal mountain scenery.

While admiring the beautiful view, Lin Qiye’s heart was filled with mixed emotions.

The scenery was beautiful, and the accommodation comfortable, but it was hard to say exactly what was truly real.

This place blended reality with illusion, hiding truth within falsehood, making it difficult for Lin Qiye to distinguish what was real and what was fake…

From a neighboring peak, a rainbow streak flew over, transforming into a silver-robed figure that landed behind Lin Qiye.

Yang Jian glanced at the house behind Lin Qiye and said:

“Is your room habitable?”

“Yes,” Lin Qiye nodded, “The things in the room actually exist.”

Hearing this, Yang Jian’s expression relaxed.

“What’s wrong?”

“Nothing, I was just worried earlier that since everything at the Peach Banquet was false, these mountains within Yaopool might also only exist as shadows in time, with their physical forms already destroyed… but it seems I was overthinking it.

Yaopool remains intact.”

Lin Qiye nodded thoughtfully.

If they were merely time fragments without physical substance, Lin Qiye wouldn’t be able to touch them. What both he and Yang Jian could perceive must exist simultaneously in the real world and as time fragments, with no difference between them.

“But we can’t be completely certain, after all, we haven’t been to other parts of Yaopool…” Yang Jian quickly added.

“More than that, I’m puzzled by something else,” Lin Qiye pondered, “Why are all the Great Xia deities at the venue just time fragments, while those maids at the entrance have physical bodies?”

Yang Jian raised an eyebrow, glancing at him,

“Isn’t it obvious?”

“What?”

As Yang Jian opened his mouth, about to say something, another rainbow light descended from the sky, transforming into a red-dressed maid who stood before Lin Qiye.

The maid held a wooden box and respectfully bowed to Lin Qiye:

“This is a reward prepared for you by the Queen Mother.”

Lin Qiye was startled, stepping forward to accept the box, which felt heavy in his hands, not an illusion.

After handing over the box, the maid bowed again, then transformed into a streak of rainbow light and disappeared into the horizon.

Lin Qiye opened the box, and a rich, exotic fragrance immediately wafted out. A crystal-clear peach of immortality lay quietly in the center of the box, emanating an irresistible allure.

A peach of immortality?!

Lin Qiye’s mind shook.

He reached out and lightly touched the surface of the peach.

It had texture!

This was a real peach of immortality!

A possibility instantly flashed through Lin Qiye’s mind, and he abruptly raised his head to look at Yang Jian, exclaiming in shock:

“The Queen Mother is real?!”

“I told you before, some beings beyond the capabilities of the Kunlun Mirror cannot be recorded,” Yang Jian calmly replied, “The Queen Mother is one of those beings…”

“The Queen Mother is that powerful?”

Lin Qiye recalled the beautiful woman sitting in the main seat, presiding over all under heaven, and asked in surprise.

“Both the Queen Mother and the Jade Emperor are beings infinitely close to the highest gods, second only to the Three Pure Ones,” Yang Jian said flatly. “Otherwise, who do you think is maintaining such a large-scale time fragment?”

The surprise in Lin Qiye’s eyes grew even stronger.

He had always thought it was the Kunlun Mirror itself maintaining this time fragment. Now thinking about it, to simulate and condense the shadows of over a hundred Great Xia deities participating in the Peach Banquet… how could a single divine artifact accomplish this independently?

Only the Queen Mother of the West, second only to the Three Pure Ones, could possess such power.

“Those maids…”

“The Queen Mother’s personal attendants are naturally real too. This vast Yaopool couldn’t possibly be managed by the Queen Mother alone.”

Lin Qiye finally understood.

“So even if I hadn’t intervened earlier, that foreign god’s agent couldn’t have disrupted the Peach Banquet?”

“Some things are different when you do them versus when the Queen Mother does them personally,” Yang Jian gave him a meaningful look.

The one who invaded the Peach Banquet venue was merely a mortal from the Western Divine Kingdom. If the Queen Mother, a being second only to the Three Pure Ones, had personally acted, it would have been beneath her dignity.

And all the others who requested to fight for the Queen Mother were time fragments she personally created, so they naturally couldn’t handle Andre. At that moment, Lin Qiye’s appearance—also a mortal but with a physical body—was very timely.

This was also why Yang Jian hadn’t stopped Lin Qiye from confronting Andre, but rather had somewhat looked forward to it.

For Lin Qiye to perform in front of the Queen Mother was a great opportunity for him.

Understanding this point, Lin Qiye looked down at the peach in his arms, now fully comprehending.

“I don’t know how much time has passed between your era and this Peach Banquet, but I imagine it’s less than a thousand years… That’s too short, and the peaches haven’t fully matured yet. For the Queen Mother to grant you a peach that ripens once every three thousand years is already quite remarkable.”

Yang Jian examined the peach in Lin Qiye’s hand and nodded.

The peach in Lin Qiye’s hand was almost the same size as the illusory peach placed before him in the lower immortal section, and among peaches that ripen once every three thousand years, it was already top-tier.

A gleam of joy flashed in Lin Qiye’s eyes.

The peach he couldn’t eat at the Peach Banquet had returned to his hands in this form, something he never expected.

“This peach has just been taken from its seal, and its spiritual energy hasn’t dissipated yet. Consuming it now will give the best effect.”

Yang Jian reminded him.

Lin Qiye nodded, directly taking the peach from the box, bringing it to his mouth, and biting down hard.
