Chapter 90: Plans Change
Ever since setting out from the Aralsk branch of China National Petroleum, Lin Mo found himself embroiled in endless trouble every few days. As he got closer to the “Red Scorpion” hideout, more and more foolish people came looking for trouble. Once he entered the lair of the “Red Scorpion,” it seemed like someone was constantly bothering him, almost as regular as his three daily meals or the news broadcast that never changed.
Having finally made it into the Elite Guard, it turned out that both the commander and deputy commander of the “Red Scorpion” had their wires crossed and decided to practice their skills on him. Did they think that Lin Mo, this Dragon Knight, was just here to be their training dummy for fun?!
If it weren’t for the fact that this operation included more than just him and also involved feeding the gold giant dragon, he might have been tempted to go for a full-on massacre, wiping out everyone in Aysulu to return to the “Night” base to tinker with his beloved fighter jets. After all, the J-10 was far more appealing than these mindless bandits.
Back at Natasha’s “palace,” Lin Mo didn’t bother entertaining the drunken woman who was starting to act out. The maids hurried to coax the intoxicated beauty to freshen up and go to sleep. The loyal Russian muscle man, Ivan, stood by his superior’s side, nervously listening to Natasha’s ramblings. He played the role of a punching bag.
Lin Mo grabbed some food from the kitchen to satisfy his hunger and returned to his room. It was a private space, just for him. Although there were listening devices, careful handling would help him avoid revealing his identity.
Not long after Lin Mo returned, he lay in bed around nine o’clock when he heard a sizzling sound. The electric outlet next to his bed sparked, and suddenly a metallic wire shot out. One of the sockets seemed to spit out wire continuously, wrapping itself around the floor in circles.
After a while, the wires retracted and formed a metal ball that morphed into the shape of a hand, waving at Lin Mo and making a V sign.
“Oh, you came back,” Lin Mo remarked, having thought the gold giant dragon had gone off to indulge elsewhere. He pulled out his spoils of the night: a golden limited edition Desert Eagle.
The hand-shaped gold coin suddenly froze, clearly excited as it gave Lin Mo a thumbs-up. Then, it lunged at him, wrapping around the Desert Eagle with urgency, even engulfing Lin Mo’s hand.
By the time Lin Mo pulled his hand away, the limited edition Desert Eagle had vanished without a trace, swallowed by the belly of the gold giant dragon.
Unsatisfied, the gold coin then eyed Lin Mo’s Triangular Military Dagger and unceremoniously extended a tentacle to snatch it away, nibbling on it like a breadstick, enjoying it as a dessert after dinner.
“I need today’s reconnaissance information,” Lin Mo communicated in his mind with the gold giant dragon. He and the coin completely ignored the listening devices in the room.
Instead of responding through the soul contract, the coin morphed into a metal plate that appeared in Lin Mo’s hand. Lines began to appear on the plate, forming various 3D shapes and labeled texts, providing Lin Mo with a 3D map of the “Red Scorpion” base, more intuitive than a flat map.
In just a couple of hours, the gold giant dragon was not idle. It had explored most of the Aysulu Basin via wires and various metal objects, even locating the airport that Lin Mo needed.
“Great! I finally found you!” Lin Mo exclaimed, looking at the airport’s position on the map. Although he knew that the “Night” Intelligence Group’s Twin Stars had already arrived in Aysulu, he planned to contact the “Lone Wolf” Yakov first. If the twins couldn’t help, he intended to take on the airport alone, forcefully completing the mission. If he were on his own, he would have considered things carefully, but with the coin as his greatest support, he was confident he could successfully complete the task.
This guy truly had his moments to shine! Lin Mo wasn’t stingy with praise. He flattered the gold giant dragon, which delightedly morphed into various shapes in his hand. If they were in a world where metal items were scarce, the coin wouldn’t have been able to exercise this unexpected reconnaissance capability. Yet, in this world, just the wires and tracks allowed it to explore vast areas effortlessly.
Unbeknownst to Lin Mo, the gold coin was not only efficient; it had undoubtedly snatched many items along the way. By the next day, complaints in the “Red Scorpion” chief of police’s office would probably flood in like snowflakes, unwittingly assisting the ongoing efforts of the Twin Stars in the intelligence group.
The Elite Guard dormitory offered rooms even more luxurious than a five-star hotel. Though Lin Mo was in enemy territory, he slept soundly on the soft bed. He could vaguely hear the sounds of gunfire and explosions blowing in with the breeze outside; the “Red Scorpion” security team was in action.
Clearly, Aysulu wouldn’t be peaceful in the coming days. Many merchants would likely be jolted awake or complaining about the chaos.
Near the beautiful Round Moon Lake in Aysulu, in a luxurious five-star hotel presidential suite with a rich desert-themed style, water vapor filled the air, accompanied by splashes and the soft laughter of girls.
“Sister, all the action team members are in place, and the bait intelligence outside the Red Scorpion forces has been released. Everything is set; we just need the right moment,” one voice said, then, with a hint of surprise, continued, “But how did Lin Mo get into the leader’s guard? Even the ‘Lone Wolf’ doesn’t seem to know how it happened.”
The voice clearly belonged to Li Muling, the sister of the elite sisters in the “Night” intelligence team. Although the two looked identical, even their voices were indistinguishable, their speaking styles and expressions easily set them apart.
The younger sister was proud and unruly, while the older sister remained calm and logical. Throughout their journey, they encountered lecherous men who were no match for the twins. The sisters wouldn’t hold back, teaching these sightless fools a lesson with bullets about who to mess with.
In the lair of the “Red Scorpion,” the twins pretended to be representatives of a mysterious force and arms dealers. The “Red Scorpion” welcomed such figures, as they brought in continuous arms profits and further sales channels, unaware that this deadly Stinger had already penetrated their defenses.
The Chinese are not foolish; they know how foreign powers deal with China, and so China deals with its enemies in kind—teeth and blood would be exchanged—but the vast majority of the public remained in the dark.
“It seems brute force has subdued those outlaws. Lin Mo never finds himself at a disadvantage. Pilots are trained for evasion and have undergone close combat and survival training. When it comes to escaping and surviving in the wild, pilots are more skilled than we are,” the older sister Li Muxin softly washed her silky long hair in the bathtub. A strand partially covered her ample chest, as she made careful but almost factually accurate analyses.
On the white marble sink, a black-gray box the size of a matchbox flashed with a green LED light; this was the latest electromagnetic signal jammer from the defense department, diligently working to block all electronic listening devices within a ten-meter radius.
“Just that guy, huh? Hmph, I doubt he’s invincible. After all, he’s just a pilot. But it seems he’s hit the jackpot. Do you think Commander Natasha has taken a liking to him? Sister, why don’t we change the plan? We could use charm to kidnap that beautiful commander instead?” The thought of nearly being beaten by Lin Mo made Li Muxin grit her teeth, twisting the white cotton towel in her hands as if Lin Mo were right there in her grip.
Colonel Xie, the intelligence group leader, might not even realize that this operation targeting the “Red Scorpion” also included such a hidden plan. Li Muxin, being a small-hearted girl with a grudge, was determined to drag Lin Mo down, going against her sister’s insight.
“The likelihood of seduction is less than thirty percent; the chances of forced kidnapping are below five percent. There’s no feasibility,” the older sister Li Muxin responded, like a precise and calm computer rapidly calculating her sister’s ideas. Despite her sister’s sometimes bizarre and impulsive ideas, with her strict oversight, deviations had never occurred. Her sister always obeyed her without hesitation, executing her decisions without question; everything remained under her control.
Unforeseen events always occurred. Li Muxin had no idea that tonight, if Lin Mo really tried to seduce someone, he might very well succeed with the “Venomous Beauty” Natasha. Not only would executing a plan be easy, but whisking her away right at that moment wouldn’t be a challenge either.
But in the eyes of the sisters, Lin Mo remained just a pilot. At most, he was good with his fists, but his primary role was still piloting his fighter jet while dropping bombs and launching missiles occasionally.
“Hmph! The original plan has changed; it seems Lin Mo can no longer be trusted! Let him go back. When do we start our operation?” The younger sister rinsed her porcelain-like body under the grand shower, excitement bubbling inside her for the impending operation. “Wow, a great show is about to begin! This time, we’ll have to earn back the reputation of the intelligence group and achieve a significant victory."
In fact, the idea that Lin Mo would infiltrate the “Red Scorpion” airport to hijack a fighter jet to attack the “Red Scorpion’s” neighbors was already a fanciful notion. In order to convince Colonel Xie, the younger sister, Li Muling, had gone to great lengths, adding psychology, reasoning, intelligence analysis, and gathering various materials to prove the impractical plan’s unusually high feasibility. This was her specialty—playing tricks on others while ensuring her own safety, treating it like a prank.
