Chapter 34: Gold Coin’s Paradise

Under the binding force of the magnetic field, Gold Coin continuously howled, struggling in vain, trying to sprout more metallic blades from its body, resembling a twisted hedgehog. "What… what did you do to me?" Gold Coin called out in anger and fear, struggling powerlessly on the large disk. "What trickery is this? What magic did you use?" It could only see half of Lin Mo’s body, as its head was firmly held in place.

Suddenly, Gold Coin shook violently and shrank a bit. Panic set in; without more metal to consume, it would face the prospect of reverting to its original form, the metal coin—a crucial relic for the survival of the gold giant dragon, akin to a dragon’s crystal heart, which held all its essence.

Gold Coin had awakened a second time, and each awakening was brief, especially with a Dragon Knight harboring ill intentions nearby. Gold Coin was determined not to be toyed with again and again.

"Gold Coin, the gold giant dragon isn’t the least intelligent among the dragon kin. Have you not noticed how different I am now?" Lin Mo shook his head, looking at the former gold giant dragon mount, now struggling like a lobster caught on its back. It was truly a case of a tiger falling to the plains, bullied by the dogs; a dragon swimming in shallow water, played with by shrimp.

Lin Mo remained calm, exuding an air of assuredness, his sly gaze causing unease in Gold Coin’s heart. Gold Coin’s head, awkwardly contorted by the strong magnetic field, faced Lin Mo directly. “What’s different?”

“My name is now Lin Mo, and I am a pilot of the People’s Liberation Army Air Force, not the elite Dragon Knight of the Su Lan Empire!” Lin Mo waved his hand, stating something that left Gold Coin dazed.

“What? What are you saying?” Gold Coin lost the strength to rage and struggle. It never imagined Lin Mo would say such things, and its thoughts momentarily froze.

“This is another world, not our original one. The Absolute Spatial Prison Forbidden Spell has sent you and me here. I suspect the dragon flute’s ineffectiveness is related to this; there is no Dragon God here, so the contract has no power. At least you’re right about one thing; you are temporarily free.” Lin Mo observed Gold Coin with amusement, aware that this newcomer was about to face a new world; he didn’t know if it would be lucky or unfortunate.

“What? Hahaha, great! Morin, Lin Mo, or whatever name you go by, you will never be my knight again. I will not allow you, a lowly human, to mount my back ever again.” Gold Coin emitted a harsh, squealing sound of agitation.

“Ha! Gold Coin, you overestimate yourself. I don’t need you to soar through the skies; I already have a new mount, one that is faster. The aerial knights of this world possess attacking powers beyond your imagination.”

Lin Mo hinted at a truth to Gold Coin: even if Gold Coin refused to bear the title of knight’s mount, Lin Mo was still an aerial combat warrior. He continued, “And this world is filled with wonders. Look at the object that holds you—the lifting electromagnet. Though it’s also made of metal, I’ve reinforced it with composite armor. In this world, there are materials far sturdier than metal, such as miraculous nanomaterials. This is only the beginning. Don’t think that freedom means you can do as you wish. There are countless things in this world that can easily destroy or trap you.”

“You’re lying! You can’t scare me! When I return to Sky City, I will inform the Elders that my soul-bound knight is not only a jerk but a fraud. Hahaha, I can rightfully proclaim myself a free gold giant dragon!” Gold Coin let out a strange, triumphant laugh. Sky City was a gathering place for the dragon kin elite, originally an enormous floating meteorite from who-knows-where that had been discovered and transformed into a magnificent city high above the ground, overlooking the land below, something the dragon kin took pride in.

Lin Mo pretended not to hear the nonsense from this creature who still hadn’t grasped the situation and shook his head. “This is another world, not our original one. There is no Sky City here. The dragon kin? Eastern dragons don’t look like you—they are much more slender.” He picked up a military-grade laptop he had saved up for and, with a few clicks, pulled up an image of an Eastern dragon, showing it to Gold Coin. “See? Everything here is something you’ve never encountered! There’s none of this in our world! Don’t you get it yet?”

“Lying! Keep lying! Make up more stories to deceive me! This is also a dragon? It looks impressive, but is it just starving?” Gold Coin remained stubborn, refusing to believe Lin Mo, now totally frustrated.

“Ugh! How could I be a knight to such a foolish dragon?!” Lin Mo shook his head again, putting away the laptop, and suddenly threw a peculiar piece of metal toward Gold Coin, who was trapped beneath the electromagnet.

Instinctively, the metal was absorbed into Gold Coin’s body without hesitation.

“Hmm?” Gold Coin welcomed the metal food, unconcerned about poison. As soon as the metal made contact with any part of its body, it was instantly decomposed and absorbed.

“What was that you threw? It seems to have magic silver in it!” Gold Coin forgot its previous anger and excitement sparked in its eyes. Even if it joined the aerial knights of the human realm, they would never waste precious magic silver on feeding a gold giant dragon. Yet it had tasted magic silver from the previous metal, and the purity was high, creating a deadly lure that made its very soul tremble.

“Have some more!” Lin Mo smirked mischievously and tossed another piece of metal, fueling Gold Coin’s desire even further.

“Ah! This piece is different! What metal is this? By the Dragon God, I didn’t even know such a metal existed! I want more, I want more!” Gold Coin’s voice mimicked that of a famished woman, exerting newfound strength as it strained its neck upward. The second piece Lin Mo threw had a flavor Gold Coin had never experienced; it was even more alluring than magic silver!

As Gold Coin, now in its primal form as the gold giant dragon core, felt the irresistible pull of the rare metals, its craving overshadowed its earlier desire to eliminate Lin Mo.

“Ha-ha, sorry, that’s all I’ve got!” Lin Mo feigned a helpless shrug, wearing a ridiculously fake expression while clearly considering the pile of various-colored and shaped metals on the tools table beside him, reminding everyone that he had just selected pieces from that pile to toss to Gold Coin.

“No, no, no! Little Morin, if you offer me a few thousand pounds of such metal, I will let you off the hook, and our grievances will be settled!” Gold Coin’s tone, though arrogant, unknowingly carried a hint of plea. Clearly, it loved the special components in the metal that Lin Mo had provided.

Lin Mo glanced at the pile of metals nearby before looking back at Gold Coin. “No way, I really don’t have more.”

Once, Gold Coin had been a constant worry to him; given the chance, it would never forget to force him, its knight, out of the picture. He was astonished that today, under the temptation of two special alloys, it seemed to have forgotten everything, including any grudges. At this rate, the proud beast would lose its dignity. If Lin Mo’s original world had had no ability to compare, he might even have thought to tame this gold giant dragon in such an unusual way.

The elemental spectrum of gold abounded in this realm but lay buried deep underground. Unable to meditate or refine itself from the atmosphere, the gold giant dragon had to consume various metals to grow stronger and evolve. Unique and rare metals were truly the lifeblood of the gold element dragon.

Many components from fighter jets contain special requirements, including titanium and other special metals. Lin Mo had gathered some, not realizing such potent effects would result.

“I say, Morin, why not offer me a few hundred pounds more? If I’m in a good mood, I’ll let you ride me for a bit, just to enjoy being a knight! I know—girls love knights, especially dragon knights! Just imagine, if I flew you around a few times, wouldn’t those human girls be crying out, begging for your affection?” Gold Coin, almost shamelessly, disregarded its pride as a proud dragon, eyeing Lin Mo’s pile of metals, drool nearly escaping its mouth. If it weren’t still bound by the electromagnet, it would have lunged at the metals and devoured them.

At this moment, with the temptation of rare metals overshadowing everything, it seemed Gold Coin forgot about Lin Mo and was overtaken by primal desires, pressing down its last threads of reason.

Lin Mo was taken aback. This muscle-bound gold giant dragon would actually know how to allure maidens? What a surprise!

Lin Mo unexpectedly tapped his foot lightly near the electromagnet, causing a loud clang. Gold Coin suddenly lost its magnetic hold and fell heavily to the ground. However, without hesitation, it quickly sprang back up and pounced ferociously toward Lin Mo.
