Chapter 624: Sister, I fear that with your hunting skills, you’ll starve in the wild.

    “Is this the place!?”

    “Yes! We were close!”

    “The guides brought us closer!”

    “Exactly!”

“There was a bloody scent everywhere! Bloody scent!”

    “Damn! Terrifying! Despicable!”

    “Boom… Boom… Boom…”

The Primordial Earth trembled under the stomp of dozens of heavy beings.

Etheric liquid droplets splashed up and then crashed down; they dropped into the Ether Lake, creating ripples again and again.

If those who had just challenged the “Tyrant Claimant” Giant God still followed martial ethics; most came one by one, and even when they grouped together, they kept it to a maximum of three to five; then the current bunch seemed to have no concept of martial ethics at all.

They charged in ten at a time!

Massive Divine Bodies lined up one after another, moving like mountains across the Primordial Earth!

Primal Mud splattered, and etheric liquid droplets danced!

Their divine bodies gathered, releasing tremendous energy from the group of deities; even the void twisted under their might!

“Look! The corpse of the slain Giant Spirit God!”

    “So tragic!”

    “The murderer must die!”

“No such powerful beings were allowed on the Primal Wilderness!”

Above the Primal Wilderness, there was also a group of deities; none of them were “Tyrant Chosen Ones,” but they eagerly sought to eliminate any deity who declared themselves a “Tyrant.”

Many deities didn’t even call themselves “Tyrants,” yet just by acting a bit too prominently, they found themselves on the “blacklist,” hunted down en masse!

They were the “Giant Spirit Dragon God.”

They were a type of deity that existed between the “Vast Dragon Gods” and the “Giant Spirit Gods.”

These fellows were massive, and even individually, they were quite strong; but worse still, they grouped together for their actions!

They enjoyed moving freely across the Primal Wilderness and disliked having a more “advanced” being above them; whenever such a presence emerged, they would band together to attack!

    In short…

    They opposed all authority!

And the fellows before us were the “Giant Spirit Dragon God” subtype known as the “Spearhead Species.”

They were famous for their unique shapes with divine heads.

    “Roar—!”

    “Roar, roar, roar—!”

Although their Divine Bodies were clumsy and lacked terrifying claws, most of their Divine Teeth were relatively blunt. Overall, while they were large in size, they were not a match for the Tyrant Candidates in other ways. However, when these massive and awkward fellows gathered into a deity cluster and charged forward like wild bulls, no deity on the Primal Wilderness could ignore their threat.

Any deity that underestimated them or dared to stand in their way was knocked down by the moving mountains and heavily stomped into the ground!

The heavy Divine Bodies crushed their divine bones and smashed their deity organs; the sharp edges of their divine ribs pierced into the “void exchange furnace,” causing those arrogant fools to be suffocated and painfully killed by their own bodies.

These “Giant Spirit Dragon Gods” showed through their actions to the deities of the Primal Wilderness—that it is not just sharp teeth and claws that can show cruelty and barbarism.

With their fighting nature and group behavior, they spread “cruelty” and “reputation” throughout the entire Primal Wilderness!

So, a group of many “Giant Spirit Dragon Gods” was often called the “Brutality Alliance.”

    “Come on!”

    “Self-proclaimed Tyrant!”

“Let us see if you are truly as brutal as you claim!”

More than ten gigantic deities of the “Spearhead Brutality Alliance” thundered forward across the Primal Wilderness, unstoppable.

    Wherever they went…

    “Crack—!”

    “Snap—!”

The Fantasy Trees of Subspace were broken one by one, and many Giant God World Trees were trampled beneath their feet.

    “Wow! Help!”

    “So many big guys!”

    “Run!”

The four-legged Pan-Spirit Deities and giant groundhog-like Earth Spirit Deities fled everywhere; they escaped the crushing feet with their quick moves.

    Their wild destruction caused chaos.

    This was a serious provocation.

If they didn’t answer, the so-called “Tyrant” should stop claiming his title.

The “Brutality Alliance” often used this way to show strength and scare other deities, winning without fighting.

But soon, they got a response.

    “Roar—grrgrrgrr……”

A deep roar full of battle spirit echoed through the rain mist.

The gentle etheric rain falling from the sky changed direction from the roar and divine might!

    “The opponent” took the challenge!

Of course, the members of the “Spearhead Brutality Alliance” would not hold back!

    “Show your power and die!”

    “Everyone, attack together!”

    “Form ranks!”

    "Damn!"

"This big sister is way too reckless!"

"Now she’s forcing me to be reckless too."

Trilobite abandoned stealthy movement on four legs.

He raised his forelimbs and raced through the "bushes" on two legs, flanking the pack of "beasts."

Clearly, this was an old predator’s trick—flanking for an ambush!

    But…

Ambushes rely on the element of surprise.

    And now…

    "Boom—Boom—Boom—!"

Powerful hind legs stomped the earth, shaking the ground with thunderous rumbles.

Most absurdly, the pack of "Strange Liaoning Dragons" and the "Chen’s Sharp-Toothed Beasts" were practically lining up to welcome him…

    "Hooray! Hooray!"

"Giant God! Eternal God! Yes! Yes!"

    "Charge! Kill them! Kill!"

Naturally, Trilobite couldn’t understand this flattery, hearing only endless "yip-yip" cries from the little creatures.

Had he still possessed an archosaur’s face, his expression would’ve darkened fiercely.

This gal would almost certainly give away their position!

So much for a surprise ambush! Hunting nothing at all!

Under normal circumstances, the hunt would’ve ended here.

Prey spotting them and forming defensive ranks made charging nearly impossible.

A fleeing "straight-line formation" was easy prey, but a stationary "circular formation" or "crescent formation" became a real challenge.

A lone Tyrannosaurus rex could slaughter an isolated triceratops or snatch stragglers from a fleeing herd. But if triceratops halted and formed ranks, the rex would weigh the costs—charge recklessly risking injury, or retreat wisely…

Any predator with half a brain knew the answer.

Yet now, Trilobite felt no such worry.

    Because…

    "Roar—rrrr…"

An even greater commotion drowned out their footsteps and the tiny creatures’ "yip-yip" cries.

    "Big sister, you’re hopelessly reckless!"

    "I doubt you’d survive a week in the wild… but this time…"

    "Great job!"

    "Glorious Feathered King Dragon!"

The name Glorious Feathered King Dragon sounded quite powerful; some paleontology enthusiasts referred to it as "Feathered Tyrannosaurus," which actually came from translating the Latin name "Yutyrannus" back into Chinese.

    Both names…

    were acceptable.

This uniquely featured dinosaur was discovered and described by Xu Xing in 2012; however, it wasn’t excavated since the three fairly complete fossil specimens were all obtained from fossil dealers.

The fossil dealers claimed these three specimens came from a quarry in Liaoning Province.

Therefore, the Glorious Feathered King Dragon was likely discovered in the Yixian formation from the early Cretaceous period, 125 million years ago.

Among them, the holotype specimen was also the largest one, measuring approximately between 7.5 meters and 9 meters in length and weighing around 1.1 tons to 1.5 tons, depending on the measurement method.

The other two specimens included the fossil of an adult small individual and a juvenile dragon.

Feathered Tyrannosaurus was considered an early member of the Tyrannosaurus rex group, but it didn’t belong to the same evolutionary branch as later tyrannosaurs; instead, it belonged to the original Ceratosaurus family.

Although the term "original Ceratosaurus" contained the words "Ceratosaurus," it actually had no close relation to Ceratosaurus; they shared characteristics reminiscent of Ceratosaurus, such as the head crest located at the front of the head.

The head crest was the most significant feature that distinguished the original Ceratosaurus family from the Tyrannosauridae.

Oh, and there was another big difference: original Ceratosaurus had three fingers, unlike many later Tyrannosauridae members that only had two fingers.

Their forelimbs were also relatively developed, completely different from the small, short arms of later Tyrannosauridae.

However, aside from that, the Glorious Feathered King Dragon’s greatest feature was right in its name—"Glorious Feathers."

"Feathers" indicated that this dinosaur had long feathers.

The fossils of Feathered King Dragon weren’t just excavated bones but were still "embedded" in the ground rock slabs.

Around the bones, there were many impressions of feathers; it was estimated that some feathers could even reach lengths of 20 centimeters!

These long feathers didn’t grow on a specific part of the Glorious Feathered King Dragon’s body but covered its entire body, giving it a down jacket look.

"Glorious" suggested that the Glorious Feathered King Dragon likely had three different types of feathers growing in various parts!

This greatly advanced paleontologists’ understanding of feathered dinosaurs.

However, the feathers on the Glorious Feathered King Dragon were all primitive and wispy, not aerodynamic flight feathers; they likely served purposes like warmth, protective coloration, or display.

This aligned with the environment where the Feathered King Dragon lived.

The early Cretaceous period in Liaoxi wasn’t warm, with an average annual temperature of only about ten degrees; in such an environment, large dinosaurs had to wear feathers to keep warm.

Since the time of the Feathered King Dragon, many large dinosaurs, especially large carnivorous dinosaurs living in northern latitudes, had been depicted with feathers.

    For example…

The genuine Tyrannosauridae, Polar Bear Dragon.

"Alright, we’ve reached the designated position!"

"And you all, shut up, stop your yipping!"

    Trilobite finally settled into ambush.

His calcite eyes peered through the "bushes," observing that group of huge yet clumsy beasts.

And that "Glorious Feathered King Dragon" actually…

    "Boom—!"

She didn’t slow down but charged right into their camp!
