Chapter 7: Watch and Learn!
by WuWangChapter 7: Watch and Learn!
Looking into the mirror at the self showing an eerie smile, Louis’s face looked rather colorful.
In that mirror, he was eerily smiling, while Ocris and Helen were behind him, doing a handstand ballet while holding hands.
[Ocris had been staring at Louis’s back for a long time, Louis had no choice but to…]
[A. Finish it with one move, instantly amaze everyone — just like you thought, an evil spirit sealed in a mirror is like a castrated kitten, dealing with it is way too easy.

[C. “Professor, I don’t know how.” (In a righteous tone)
Rewards: Mana +1, Sacred Oak Expulsion Notice 1]
“……”
“Lou-is!~” Ocris’s face was growing increasingly unpleasant. The murmurs and laughter among the audience sitting in the great hall also became more noticeable.
Although, due to the angle, the people below couldn’t see clearly what was happening in the mirror.
But Ocris, standing on the platform, could observe the scene in the mirror together with Louis — the high noble stockings, the witch’s close-fitting long skirt with a slit falling to the waist, and that upside-down dance, made Ocris wish she could shatter the mirror on the spot, then blind Louis, the only eyewitness.
Louis rubbed his face hard, thought about his character setting and usual style, and began to consider.
After a moment, he looked up and said to Ocris righteously, “Professor, I don’t know how — but please give me some more time. It’s just a Demon-Banishing Charm, I’ll definitely be fine if I prepare properly.”
Ocris pursed her lips. She knew Louis was just bluffing; he was all talk and no action, that was just how he was.
But at this point, that’s all they could do. They couldn’t just have him step down and lower her teaching score!
“Go, stand behind Helen,” Ocris glared at Louis fiercely, looking just like an unhappy teacher.
But Louis let out a huge sigh of relief. He saw the Mana +1, but the expulsion notice wasn’t there yet; it showed as ‘to be collected at the Dean’s Office.’
Collect my foot! If he made it through today, there’d be no expulsion notice. He could just put on a little act later and be fine. He definitely wouldn’t be expelled, at most he’d repeat a grade, turning Louis VI into Louis VII.
Hearing the conversation on the platform, the audience below burst into loud laughter. The Ministry of Magic officials and Court Wizards who came to observe today nearly laughed their teeth out.
Just a Demon-Banishing Charm?
Did this ‘Louis VI’ even know what that spell was?
Did he know how much time everyone had spent preparing this time just to make ‘Ocris’ leave the royal family and marry into the Dragon Clan?
That thing in the mirror was a ‘Fiend-class’ evil spirit!
Forget this clown student of Ocris’s, even those present probably wouldn’t dare claim they could easily handle it.
What made everyone even more amused was that Ocris actually nodded!
Just as the Queen had said, this performance was indeed extremely entertaining.
Of course, if the people Ocris brought could actually handle it… Thinking of this, the crowd felt a slight chill and couldn’t help but look at the two students laughing the hardest.
These two students were almost laughing to tears. Louis VI had been boasting for six years; did he really believe all the things he bragged about?
“Learn? Louis, then you better learn well!” A man in his early twenties, tall and straight, extraordinarily handsome, stepped up from behind to the front of the platform. He then gave a slight bow to Ocris, intending to give a hand-kiss. However, it was subtly avoided, so Tyrus took the opportunity to place a hand on his chest in a slight salute and said, “Your Highness, please rest assured. Give me five… no, three minutes, and I will not disappoint you.”
Ocris nodded faintly and said, “Go ahead, Sir Tyrus.”
She sighed inwardly. Her worst fear had happened after all. Those people had actually managed to bring a fiend-class evil being. This thing was not only difficult to deal with but also hard to identify.
Whether ‘Tyrus’ and ‘Lufield’ could handle it was still a fifty-fifty chance.
As for Louis… Ocris couldn’t help but sneak a glance at Louis, who was squatting there flipping through a book to prepare, looking unconvinced — Did he actually know to use a Demon-Banishing Charm? Did he recognize it was a fiend-class evil being?
Probably not. Ocris suspected Helen had given that ‘Demon-Banishing Charm’ to Louis — he had only prepared for this one spell, so he mentioned it.
Ocris couldn’t help but rub her forehead.
The good news was, she had guessed the right topic in advance. The bad news was, judging by his look, this guy hadn’t even memorized it! He better not make a fool of himself later!
By now, Tyrus had already approached the mirror. When he faced the eyes of the Mirror Man, his mind roared as he realized what this thing was!
He had almost been ensnared by a single glance!
Why was Louis so calm when he stood here just now?
This was no ordinary evil spirit!
It seemed ever-changing; what exactly was it?
‘Damn it! Should have let that idiot ‘Lufield’ go first.’ Tyrus glanced sideways at Lufield and found him looking down, intently wiping his hands with a silk handkerchief, a mocking smile lingering at the corner of his mouth.
Now the hall was so quiet you could hear a pin drop. All eyes were fixed intently on Tyrus. Some eunuchs specifically sent by the Queen were already clutching their robes tightly, secretly breaking into a cold sweat.
So was Tyrus.
He knew this kind of thing grew stronger with people’s fear. He hurriedly calmed his mind, gritted his teeth, and began to cast one Magic Spell after another, trying to defeat the evil being sealed within the mirror. Meanwhile, everyone’s focus was on him.
Just like everyone else, the now-ignored Louis was also squinting slightly, staring at Tyrus. However, he wasn’t staring at Tyrus the person, but intently listening with his ears to the Magic Spells Tyrus was reciting.
As Tyrus recited spell after spell, Louis also softly repeated them under his breath. But he noticed Tyrus’s spells omitted many pronunciations, so he used his mental perception to sense the changes in the mana field around him.
A short while later, Louis’s eyes flickered slightly. He found he had discovered the correct spell, and then realized he had actually learned the few minor spells Tyrus used to probe the enemy.
‘But… none of these are spells for dealing with a fiend-class evil being,’ Louis thought, his face showing confusion. ‘What is this guy doing?’
At this moment, Louis felt Helen slip a small note into his hand. Looking down, it was exactly the Demon-Banishing Charm Helen had prepared to memorize.
“Use this,” Helen whispered, her face pale. “Otherwise, it’ll be too embarrassing in a moment.”
