Chapter 15: Tomb of the Dark
by SurroundedbyBooksBu Gong was standing there a little confused at this time, not knowing whether to walk or not. After trying to walk a few times, he was completely discouraged, because no matter how he walked, he was still standing still and there was no way to leave this open space.
Bu Gong was a little at a loss about this, and a hint of helplessness flashed across his indifferent eyes; but the moment he took another step, the scene in front of Bu Gong changed drastically.
The small hill that was originally covered with flowers and trees suddenly turned into an endless wasteland; this wasteland was covered with weeds that were more than one meter tall; Bu Gong was surprised to find that the weather that was originally sunny and hot had now become extremely gloomy and dim.
“This…how could such a change happen? What is going on?” Bu Gong was standing blankly on this vast wasteland, muttering involuntarily; this sudden change happened too quickly, causing Bu Gong’s brain to short-circuit and he was a little confused. To him, these were almost the same as the legendary miracles.
“Whoosh” a sinister hurricane suddenly blew past, making Bu Gong’s body a little unstable; his long hair, which was originally tied behind his back and was a little messy, was also blown into a mess, and his eyes narrowed slightly.
But at the same time, a strange laugh that sounded a bit harsh and sinister suddenly spread in the open space: “Hehehe… lowly ant, it is your honor to meet this king; hehehe…”; Bu Gong’s eyes, which were originally slightly narrowed, were also startled open by the sudden sound of strange laughter.
Then, what caught his eyes was a cemetery with a radius of one hundred meters. In the center of this cemetery was the small hill that Bu Gong saw at first sight when he first arrived here.
After seeing this, the doubt in Bu Gong’s heart was finally resolved; when he just came here and saw the so-called small hill for the first time, he had a strange feeling in his heart, but he couldn’t tell exactly what was strange about it.
The huge tomb that appeared in front of him now was the small hill he had seen before, no, it should be said that it was a Yin tomb; a tomb that was not sealed and not planted with trees was called a grave, but the tomb in front of him was overflowing with Yin energy and dark winds. From the outside, it looked like a small hill, so it was called a Yin tomb.
Because Bu Gong had heard some old people in the town say: “Grave is just a name; but it is divided into Yin tombs and Yang tombs. Ordinary tombs do not emit Yin energy and do not affect the weather environment. They remain the same as they were originally. This kind of tomb is called a Yang tomb.
And the tombs like the one in front of Bu Gong now have unpredictable scenes. If people mistakenly walk into them, they will be invaded by cold air and feel gusts of cold wind, which will have the effect of changing the world. This kind of tomb is called a Yin tomb.
At this moment, Bu Gong understood in his heart that the so-called small hill in front of him was actually a grave. After he understood this, his face, which was usually calm and indifferent, turned slightly pale.
He even broke out in a cold sweat, because according to the rumors he had heard, places like these with graves would usually have vicious and cruel ghosts wandering around; it was said that those ghosts could suck people’s blood, devour their flesh and bones, invade their minds, and eat their hearts; it was truly cruel.
After discovering that this was a Yin tomb, Bu Gong’s mind also emerged with the rumors about Yin tombs that existed in the past; then, Bu Gong felt a chill all over his body. This was the first time in his life that he had encountered such a thing, and naturally he couldn’t help feeling a little horrified.
When Bu Gong first heard the old people in the town telling stories about this kind of thing, although it sounded very curious and incredible, at that time, he just thought it was just a story and it was impossible for such a thing to really happen.
But what was happening before his eyes? Was he hallucinating? Bu Gong’s heart twitched at the sight of this situation. Although he had heard of methods to deal with similar situations, he had learned from the older generation in the town that when encountering such situations, they should mix chicken blood and dog blood and splash it.
Putting aside where to find chickens and dogs now, but is it really effective? This is just hearsay, Bu Gong has never actually seen it.
At this moment, Bu Gong couldn’t help but think of the shrill strange laughter just now; “Is there really a ghost here?” Bu Gong thought secretly in his heart; but just when this thought just arose in his mind, he saw a huge strange black claw of dozens of feet suddenly rising from the tomb in front of him and grabbing towards him.
“This…” Bu Gong retreated rapidly, and a hint of horror appeared in his originally indifferent eyes; because he found that although he was retreating quickly, his retreating speed could not catch up with the speed of the giant claws grabbing him.
Seeing that the giant claw was about to grab him, a trace of despair appeared in Bu Gong’s eyes, “This time, it’s really over…” This was Bu Gong’s first reaction; because such a huge claw was grabbing towards him, and he had no power to resist, was there any other possibility of not dying?
Then Bu Gong closed his eyes, and then he felt his body being bound by a force and flying into the air; he waited for a long time, “Hey, why is there no response?” Because Bu Gong was ready to be swallowed and killed.
But after waiting for a while, Bu Gong found that he did not feel any pain in his body, and it seemed that the giant claw did not hurt him at all; “What’s going on?” A question flashed through Bu Gong’s mind, so he slowly opened his eyes.
Seeing the scene in front of him, Bu Gong realized that he was taken to another place. Bu Gong glanced around and saw that it was a huge black palace. There was a bronze gate on each side of the palace, and a palm-sized yellow paper was pasted on each of them. There were strange strokes outlined on it, which looked a bit weird.
This was Bu Gong’s first reaction when he saw the palace. He then slowly raised his head and looked towards the center of the palace. His dark pupils suddenly shrank, and even his heartbeat quickened a bit; because he saw that at the top of the palace, there was a pitch-black coffin about three meters long and two meters wide quietly placed.
The coffin was placed horizontally at the top of the hall, with a piece of yellow paper pasted on both sides, the same as the yellow paper on the bronze doors around the hall. However, compared with them, the yellow paper on the coffin was slightly larger, but it was a little damaged, and there was a crack on the yellow paper on one side.
In fact, in Bu Gong’s eyes, the so-called yellow paper was the talisman commonly used by those monks, but Bu Gong didn’t know it yet; Bu Gong stood in the center of the hall, his whole body slightly tense. The dark hall in front of him gave people a feeling of gloom and fear that grew from the bottom of his heart.
“Crack” a sound as if something was broken was heard in the hall, instantly breaking the original strange silence; Bu Gong suddenly turned his head and looked towards the source of the sound.
His gaze finally stopped on the coffin at the first place in the hall. The coffin, which was originally intact, was now shaking; the coffin lid was struggling and jumping, as if it wanted to open by itself. Bu Gong now discovered that the thing he originally thought was a yellow piece of paper was now flashing with a faint yellow light.
It seemed that the yellow paper was binding the coffin. Seeing this, Bu Gong felt a little relieved. “Click… click…” Just when Bu Gong had just breathed a sigh of relief, the coffin began to struggle violently, as if something was trying to struggle out of the coffin.
Bu Gong’s heart was in suspense again at this moment, and he stared at the coffin at the first seat of the hall without moving; his heart couldn’t help but beat slightly, because he knew that everything that happened before his eyes was most likely caused by that coffin; and if the coffin was opened, then…
When Bu Gong thought of this, his face turned slightly pale; judging from the giant claw that had just grabbed him, the thing in the coffin must be very powerful and definitely not something he could handle; if he let it out, his life would probably be lost here.
His mind raced, but after thinking it over, Bu Gong realized with disappointment that he really didn’t have any better solution. He wanted to escape, but looking at the environment, he didn’t know where to start. He wanted to help suppress the coffin, but that was a joke. He had just started practicing, and it looked like the coffin was struggling with more force than he could exert with all his strength. How could he suppress it?
It really is what you think will come true. In just a moment, as the coffin struggled, the power of the yellow talisman on it seemed to have been consumed too much, and it looked a little dimmer than before; its suppressing force also weakened slightly, and then, the coffin lid on one side was actually opened to a tiny gap.
“Hehehe… I wonder how long this broken seal can keep me sealed? The air outside is so fresh… hehehe…” As the coffin was opened a tiny gap, Bu Gong saw a black mist quickly floating out from the gap, and then a human face vaguely condensed.
Bu Gong looked up and saw that the face looked bronze with just a slight bluish tint, and was really no different from a real person; but the strange thing was that there were two bumps on its head, like two horns growing out, and the skin looked very rough.
Then, the face formed from the black mist turned and looked at Bu Gong, looking down at him. Bu Gong suddenly felt as if he were in an ice cellar, and a chill ran through his heart. At this moment, a harsh, slightly eerie voice rang out from his mouth: “Humble creature, give up resistance. If I can obtain your body, I will make you worshipped by thousands of people. Hehe…”
Seeing this, Bu Gong’s face turned a little pale, but this is a natural human reaction; anyone who encounters something beyond his cognition will unconsciously feel a sense of fear in his heart, because the most terrifying thing is what you don’t know.
Taking a deep breath, Bu Gong suppressed the fear in his heart and spoke slowly. His voice was a little hoarse, with a slight tremor in it. He asked, “Who are you? Why do you want my body?”
“What am I? Hehehe…you are a lowly creature, you are not qualified to know now; just give up resistance and let me devour your soul, otherwise if I do it myself, you will experience the cruelest taste of the world.” This face, which was vaguely visible and condensed from the black mist, had a look of pity in his eyes. He looked at Bu Gong coldly and said in a contemptuous tone.
After hearing this, Bu Gong understood in his heart that it would be unlikely for him to walk out of here safely today; but it was also unlikely that he would give up resistance and let it devour his soul.
But he didn’t attack me directly at the beginning, but asked me to give up resistance and let him devour my soul; then it was obvious that if I resisted, it would definitely cause great harm to him.
“In that case, then… even if I die, I won’t let you off easily.” Bu Gong’s eyes suddenly became sharp, and the corners of his mouth curled up slightly, revealing the young man’s inherent stubbornness. A sense of hostility slowly rose in his heart, which directly dispelled all the previous fear in his heart.
