    Chapter 747: Yingying’s Memories

"Lingling, what’s wrong?" Ye Yun smiled as he noticed everyone around them had awakened. "The array’s seal has been broken. Shouldn’t we hurry to the next trial?"

"I didn’t expect that woman to pass so quickly. I thought it’d take ages," Shui Lingling murmured, watching Blood Clothes laugh with Mo Wenxian. Her gaze shifted to the four stone pillars. "Impossible! Ling’er clearly saw these pillars shattered. How are they intact again?"

"Troublesome. Since when is this girl so sharp?" Ye Yun clicked his tongue, hiding his surprise. "Never seen you this clever before. Why show it now of all times?"

"Perhaps Ling’er imagined it. Blood Clothes never left the great formation. Broken pillars would’ve affected her trial. Look—does she seem like she failed?" Shui Yingying chuckled.

"Look at her grinning like a puppy! Obviously succeeded." Shui Lingling nodded, envy flashing across her face. The woman had reached the Fourth Level of the Earth Immortal realm. With the flaws in her Killing Immortal Classic fixed, even trickery wouldn’t help against her now.

"Wenxian, you finally did it!" San Ying pressed against Mo Wenxian’s side, tilting her head to reveal mesmerizing eyes. "Were you worried about me out here?"

"San Ying cares about Sister Blood Clothes too! Shouldn’t she acknowledge me?" The girl squeezed between them, feigning innocence. "If Sister’s perfected the Killing Immortal Classic, shouldn’t she test it on someone?"

"A fair point." Blood Clothes’ smile turned icy as she followed San Ying’s glance toward Ye Yun’s group.

"Don’t overdo it." Mo Wenxian frowned. "Your classic already overwhelms Fourth Level opponents. Bullying Brother Ye’s group is beneath you."

He’d hoped to ease tensions, but the two women kept provoking Ye Yun. Though he’d act if they were threatened, he settled for a warning glare.

"Oh, Wenxian’s cross! We’ll spare them this time." Blood Clothes yanked San Ying’s black robe, pulling the girl behind her before clinging to Mo Wenxian’s arm.

"No more delays." Ye Yun stepped forward. "Shall we proceed, Brother Mo?"

"Since your technique’s flaws are fixed, this Heavenly Immortal inheritance seems unnecessary." Mo Wenxian remarked casually.

"Playing the saint again? No! This inheritance has defects too. What if my classic falters later? I must claim Blood Qi Lord’s legacy!" Blood Clothes glared at Ye Yun’s companions.

"Very well." Mo Wenxian knew her excuse was flimsy, but securing the inheritance felt prudent.

"Forgive me, Brother Ye." He steeled himself. Ye Yun wouldn’t back down, but Blood Clothes’ future took priority.

"Hurry! Delays invite disaster." Blood Clothes tossed her crimson hair. Three opponents—one barely Earth Immortal First Level—stood no chance.

"Daring to covet my birthright? They’re courting death." Her bloodred eyes glinted. The Killing Immortal Classic’s itch for carnage had lessened since Blood Qi Lord’s intervention, but old habits died hard.

"Memories blur… Did Lord Blood Qi suppress them?" She pondered. Waking cured of her flaw felt surreal, yet empowering.

"Taking my love for slaughter? That’d be cruel." Her graceful steps belied the bloodlust beneath.

"The scenery’s gorgeous!" Shui Lingling exclaimed. "And strange little beasts! Wonder how they taste?"

"Those are Crown Beasts. Major sects keep them as pets." Shui Yingying smiled. "You begged for one as a child, then released it because it couldn’t breathe fire."

"Because Sister asked the Sect Leader!" Shui Lingling pouted. "Other sects pamper their geniuses! I just broke his ugly vase and got locked up!"

"That was the Alliance Leader’s favorite! Others would’ve been expelled from the Immortal Dao Sect. Who do you think the Grand Elder spoils most?"

    "I apologized properly!"

"Properly?" Shui Yingying arched a brow, recalling the scene…

"Old man! That ugly black vase needed replacing! You’re welcome!" Young Ling’er declared, weakly hidden behind false bravado.

The Sect Leader raised an eyebrow. "So this old man should thank you?"

"Exactly! But I’ll forgive you!" Ling’er nodded earnestly.

A rosy-cheeked elder intervened. "Admit your mistake, child."

    "Ling’er did nothing wrong!"

"Not only break the Roland Vase but insult my taste? To the dark room!" The Sect Leader waved.

"Sisterrr!" Ling’er tugged Shui Yingying’s sleeve.

"I warned you." The older girl sighed.

"Not listening!" Ling’er covered her ears.

"Since one day’s insufficient, try a night!" The Sect Leader hid a smile. These innate spiritual bodies—future Heavenly Immortals—needed tempering.

"Look! He admitted fault but still punished me!" Shui Lingling complained.

"You were wrong." Shui Yingying shook her head. "Tell him yourself next time."

"He’d lock me again!" Ling’er huffed, then brightened. "How strong are Heavenly Immortals? This scenery seems beyond mortal hands!"

"They’re not mortal. You’ll reach there too."

    "Absolutely!" Ling’er grinned, confidence unshaken.
