    Chapter 630: The Teleportation Gate

“Divine soul! This is my divine soul!”

The Ancestor of the Sword Path cried out joyfully, reaching to claim the divine soul.

Yet something unexpected happened—the soul neither merged with him nor answered his summons, remaining stubbornly within Ye Yun.

“Ye Yun! What trickery is this? Hand over that soul!” the Ancestor demanded urgently.

Ye Yun blinked. “I’m not controlling or blocking it. This soul doesn’t obey me—can’t you command it either?”

The Ancestor frowned. Though the white light shadow clearly resembled his lost soul, neither he nor Ye Yun could control it. Fusion proved impossible.

    “What now?”

Ye Yun’s brow furrowed. “Steady, Ancestor. Let’s try again. Perhaps the Ethereal Void Breaking Array still isolates our six senses and scatters our spirit perception. Once our senses return, this might resolve itself.”

The Ancestor exhaled slowly, realizing his desperation had clouded judgment. This second divine soul held immense power—merging it with his existing soul could restore much of his former strength. Given time, he might even rebuild his flesh without needing a third soul.

“We’ll wait then. A day changes nothing,” the Ancestor said, though his voice wavered.

Ye Yun chuckled. “After a thousand years, what’s one more day? Patience, Ancestor. This may sort itself sooner than we think.”

The Ancestor barked a laugh. “So be it!”

Unnoticed by either, the swirling darkness around them began thinning. Faint glimmers pierced the void, though their dulled senses failed to register this.

Blind and deaf within the array’s suppression, Ye Yun closed his eyes to meditate. He focused his mind, preparing for whatever dangers might emerge when the chaos lifted—Master Hei Xu’s group could still be lurking nearby.

Suddenly, light exploded around them. Ye Yun’s eyes snapped open against the painful glare.

“What’s happening?!” He leapt backward, hand flying to his sword hilt.

They’d just retrieved this soul using the Heart of Immortals and Demons, only for the environment to revert to formless chaos. Now, less than a day later, this abrupt brightness defied reason.

As the radiance dimmed, Ye Yun gaped at his surroundings.

He stood in a crumbling black hall supported by eight pillars stretching ten zhang high. Dozens of luminous pearls cast soft white light across the weathered stone.

Ye Yun’s breath caught—not only had his vision and hearing returned, but all six senses. More crucially, true qi now surged through his meridians, flooding his body with familiar power.

“Restored! It’s fully restored!” He laughed, springing several zhang into the air.

“Ye Yun!” The Ancestor’s voice cut through his elation. “Look across the hall—two light shadows!”

Ye Yun whirled. Two faint glows pulsed in the distance, overshadowed by the pearls’ gentle luminescence.

He flashed across the chamber, landing before the mysterious objects. They resembled either tokens or miniature gates—one translucent with faint markings, the other half-bright and half-dim.

“What are these?” Ye Yun murmured. Treasures left by the king who created the Ethereal Void Breaking Array? Their unassuming appearance belied their origin.

The first object’s surface swirled with soft light, two blurred characters hovering within. The second’s divided nature—one side radiant, the other dull—hinted at opposing forces.

“Th-this…” The Ancestor of the Sword Path’s voice trembled with excitement. “To think it’s actually this! Who’d have imagined such a thing existing in this secret realm?”

Ye Yun frowned slightly. “What is this? What rank of treasure? Is it valuable?”

“Valuable? Beyond measure! Though there’s a catch.” The Ancestor sighed. “These two objects resembling small doors are actually treasures forged by supreme saints—teleportation gates condensed from the Void Teleportation Array.”

“Teleportation gates?” Ye Yun gaped. Though the term sounded simple, combined with the Ancestor’s mention of saint-forged arrays, it clearly meant these objects enabled spatial travel.

“Correct. Two teleportation gates. But both are single-directional—no return trips possible,” the Ancestor explained.

“Single-directional?” Ye Yun’s curiosity piqued. “Since when do teleportation gates have one-way restrictions?”

“True Void Teleportation Gates rank among the world’s mightiest treasures. Ten thousand years ago, the Devil Race used such spatial gates to open the passage to the Three Realms, flooding our land with millions of demons and igniting the Battle of Immortals and Demons.”

Horror flashed across Ye Yun’s face. Millions transported through gates? The mere thought chilled him. His gaze returned to the unassuming gates—how could such power reside in these small objects?

“You misunderstand. The gates that brought the Devil Race were prime artifacts. These before you can only move one person per use,” corrected the Ancestor.

    “One person?” Ye Yun blinked.

“Only one. Moreover, each gate leads to a fixed, predetermined location,” the Ancestor continued.

“Where?” Ye Yun leaned forward. Any location requiring both the Ethereal Void Breaking Array and a master’s touch must hold extraordinary treasures.

“Unknown. Channel your spirit perception into them—answers may come,” the Ancestor rumbled, clearly intrigued despite the gates’ limitations.

Ye Yun inhaled deeply, placing his palm on a gate. True qi mingled with spirit perception flowed from his fingertips.

    Suddenly, he froze.

Two massive characters glowed on the gates:

    Jin Kingdom.

    Xumi.

Jin Kingdom? The gate led home? And Xumi—wasn’t that the Xumi Treasure mentioned by Master Hei Xu?

Before he could process this, brilliant light erupted from the gates. Twin streaks of radiance shot into his body.

“Three days?” Ye Yun’s face tightened. “These gates vanish after three days?”

“Merely replicas,” the Ancestor confirmed. “True gates endure millennia. Three days suffices—this Secret Vault and Xumi Treasure were destined for you.”

“Three days is perfect.” Ye Yun’s mind raced. “After getting the Divine Rhythm Crimson Fruit and your soul fragment, returning to Jin Kingdom was urgent. Without a teleportation array, the journey might take a year on foot—Su Ling can’t wait that long. This gate solves everything.”

“Activate it then. Soul merging can’t wait,” urged the Ancestor.

“Right, let’s—” Ye Yun suddenly paled, hand freezing mid-air.

    “What’s wrong?” the Ancestor pressed.

“Opening the teleportation gate requires ice element treasures and energy. You can’t activate it with Ice Spirit Qi alone,” Ye Yun said.

“So those ice treasures you collected earlier were meant for opening this gate after all. I should’ve guessed. I thought those items seemed oddly low-grade for a Secret Vault. This explains it—the real heavenly materials and earthly treasures must lie within the Xumi Treasure beyond this gate,” Ancestor of the Sword Path chuckled.

Ye Yun had previously obtained Ice Essence, Tranquil Heart Profound Ice Pill, Spirit Ice Cicada Robe, Ice Light Mirror, and Ice Energy War Soul Dagger. Apart from the Meteor Arrow, nearly all were ice element artifacts. The robe could block a strike from a Fifth Level Nascent Soul stage Ancestor, the pill helped suppress Mental Demons during Nascent Soul breakthroughs, the dagger inflicted soul damage, and the mirror briefly slowed movements of cultivators below Fifth Level Nascent Soul.

These treasures had become nearly useless to Ye Yun at his current cultivation level—mere chicken ribs. Now it was clear they weren’t weapons but fuel for the teleportation gate.

With a faint smile, Ye Yun tossed Ice Essence onto the gate. Light flickered across its surface, hinting at activation. He added more essence and threw in the Spirit Ice Cicada Robe.

Instantly, radiance erupted as a luminous gateway began materializing.

    “There you are, brat!”

    “Ye Yun! Perfect timing!”

Two familiar voices rang out. Ye Yun glanced up to see Master Hei Xu charging in, followed by Murong Wuqing. More figures flooded the hall—Tian Yunzi and Hua Changchun among them.

“Brother Wuqing, you’re not another illusion this time, are you?” Ye Yun smiled.

“Illusion? What’s happening here?” Murong Wuqing stared at the glowing portal.

“Surrender the treasures, and all is forgiven,” Master Hei Xu barked.

Ignoring him, Ye Yun addressed Tian Yunzi: “Master, I didn’t expect you here. I must depart now. We’ll speak when I return.”

Tian Yunzi remained expressionless, hands clasped behind his back.

“Where are you going? Is that a teleportation gate?” Hua Changchun’s eyes gleamed. “Hand it over, and I’ll make you top disciple of both Divine Grace Palace and Misty Sect!”

“Sect Leader, this gate only allows one-way travel for a single person. Would you go alone?” Ye Yun grinned.

“Single use? One person?” The two leaders exchanged stunned glances.

“Don’t lie to your master. Give me the gate, and I’ll take you along,” Tian Yunzi said coldly.

Ye Yun shrugged. “I wouldn’t dare deceive you, Master.”

Turning to Murong Wuqing, he added: “I’m leaving. Find me through Tongtong at Divine Grace Palace. She’ll take you to Lingxiao City. Watch over her and the Vulture King.”

As light enveloped him, Master Hei Xu lashed out with the Xuan Yuan Devil Whip.

“Stop!” Hua Changchun and Tian Yunzi shouted. But the whip struck empty air—Ye Yun had vanished, leaving only fading radiance.

Through the void he traveled, returning to Jin Kingdom.
