Chapter 268
by fanqienovelChapter 268: Few Against Many
The group finally arrived at Domineering Island. Gazing at the quiet island, Lou Yun pointed down into the water and said, "They’re down there, forty to fifty meters below the surface. Aunt, do you have a way to get us down?"
Shui Xiping looked at the seawater beneath her feet, then at the people around her, and nodded. "I can take you down. But once we’re down, don’t make a move until I’ve spoken to Lingluo!"
"Agreed!"
Shui Xiping deftly brought her hands together in a rapid sequence of seals. Lou Yun watched closely and clearly saw she was performing hand seals, almost identical to those Shui Lingluo used.
As Shui Xiping formed her seals, the sea surface beneath them suddenly began to boil. Countless bubbles surged upward from the depths.
Among all present, only the four leaders and Wen Hou knew Shui Xiping’s true identity and thus managed some composure, though they were still visibly shocked. The others had no idea what was happening, especially Lu Da and his three brothers, who shouted and exclaimed in wide-eyed excitement.
Under Shui Xiping’s control, the area of boiling seawater expanded to nearly a hundred meters wide. Gradually, the sea surface began to part to either side, as if a giant forced the water apart with bare hands, revealing a dark, gaping void below.
The scene was incredibly bizarre. No one would have believed anyone could control the sea without seeing it themselves. Even the rowdy Lu Da trio were struck dumb by sheer astonishment, unable to do anything but stare, unblinking, at the yawning opening in the water below.
At that moment, Shui Xiping nodded to Lou Yun. "We can go down! I’ll go first!"
No sooner had she spoken than she leapt straight down from the Dream Emperor Sword and plunged into the water. Her body moved like a fish, twisting twice before vanishing from everyone’s sight.
Lou Yun quickly turned to the others. "We go down now. Remember, no one makes a move without my order!"
After saying this, he dove down first. The rest, still profoundly shocked, followed closely into the enormous tunnel through the sea.
Lou Yun shot straight to the seabed, his feet landing firmly on solid ground. The scenery was indeed bizarre: walls of towering seawater rose on both sides and ahead, and through the water, numerous fish could be seen darting about playfully. Yet, no matter how they swam, none crossed the boundary of the water walls.
Directly ahead of Lou Yun and his group, within the seawater, stood a row of structures clearly visible. Shui Xiping was currently standing before the tallest structure, shouting Shui Lingluo’s name.
Those who had followed Lou Yun, including the four leaders, hadn’t known they were coming beneath the sea. The sight before them now was utterly beyond their imagination, leaving them dumbfounded, utterly at a loss.
Lou Yun, however, was busy asking Wen Hou beside him, "Is this how it looked when you escaped?"
Wen Hou pointed to a flat patch of ground not far away. "When I fled, there weren’t this many structures. That spot is where he kept that enormous bubble trapping everyone, just as I said."
Lou Yun nodded. "Strange. Why can’t we see anyone? Even if they’re hiding inside these structures, could they cultivate and live freely down here as if on land?"
Just then, a figure appeared before Shui Xiping. Lou Yun recognized her instantly: it was Shui Lingluo!
Her face at that moment was also etched with shock. Clearly, she hadn’t expected to see her own aunt in this place!
For about ten seconds, aunt and niece only stared at each other without speaking. Then, Shui Lingluo suddenly turned and fled! Naturally, Shui Xiping immediately gave chase.
However, the moment Shui Xiping moved, the seawater blocking their view abruptly parted again on either side, revealing a waterless passage leading straight to the cluster of buildings.
Shui Xiping’s voice carried clearly back through the water: "Master Lou, this is the best I can do. I’m going to pursue Lingluo now. The rest is up to you!"
Watching aunt and niece disappear into the depths of the water, one chasing the other, Lou Yun knew they likely wouldn’t return.
But without Shui Lingluo’s aid, would the people of Domineering Island still hold their advantage underwater?
Lou Yun’s face hardened. He stepped forward first into the passage, and the others swiftly followed. The group advanced steadily until they stood before the submarine structures.
Shui Xiping was extremely considerate for Lou Yun. She hadn’t just created a passage; she’d also drained all the water surrounding the submerged buildings. This ensured that once the fighting started, Lou Yun and his forces wouldn’t be hampered by the sea. Victory, however, would depend on their own true skill!
At that moment, sounds erupted from within the structures. A crowd surged out, led by a powerfully built man.
Wen Hou whispered to Lou Yun, "That’s him! Mo Linsheng!"
Lou Yun laughed coldly, his eyes radiating menace as he stared at Mo Linsheng. "Mo Linsheng! You dared attack my island and kidnap my brothers while I was away. Yet you hide here, cowering behind a woman’s skirts like a coward?"
The merciless taunt struck directly at Mo Linsheng’s fearfulness. The men Lou Yun brought immediately roared with raucous laughter in agreement.
Just the name "Domineering Island" showed Mo Linsheng was a brash, stubborn character. He couldn’t stomach such open ridicule, least of all being mocked for relying on a woman’s protection!
A strange bellow escaped Mo Linsheng’s throat. He jabbed a finger towards Lou Yun. "Lou Yun! Don’t you dare boast before me! You think I fear you? Last time you were just lucky, away from the island. If you’d been there, you’d already be dead! But it’s not too late now. I’ll send you to join your brothers this instant!"
As his voice faded, a giant axe, over three meters long, appeared in Mo Linsheng’s hands. Brandishing it, he charged straight at Lou Yun.
Lou Yun’s eyes shot wide open, pure murderous intent exploding within them. He understood the horrifying implication of Mo Linsheng’s last words: "Send you to join your brothers"? Did that mean all the captured people were already dead?!
Lou Yun’s figure blurred. In an instant, he appeared right before Mo Linsheng! His Dream Emperor Sword, wreathed in raging flames and flickering with electricity, met the descending giant axe head-on!
An intense heat instantly radiated through the axe handle into Mo Linsheng’s hands, so scalding he almost dropped his magical weapon. He hastily flung himself backward, creating distance between himself and Lou Yun.
Staring at the flame-encased, sparking magical weapon in Lou Yun’s hand, terror filled Mo Linsheng’s eyes. And it wasn’t just him; even beyond those close to Lou Yun, no one had ever seen a magical weapon belching actual fire!
Lou Yun was now wholly consumed by killing intent, single-mindedly focused on ending Mo Linsheng. He completely forgot the man was a heaven-level magical weapons master!
With an angry roar, Lou Yun charged again! The Dream Emperor Sword descended upon Mo Linsheng again and again with ferocious, overwhelming blows.
Because of the flames engulfing the sword, Mo Linsheng dared not parry Lou Yun’s frenzied assault. He spent most of the time dodging and weaving frantically.
Behind Lou Yun, the Heavenly Decree Leader raised his hand decisively. "What are you waiting for? Attack!"
At his command, the warriors of the Divine Weapon Alliance surged forward like starving tigers leaping upon prey, charging straight into the ranks of Mo Linsheng’s underlings!
Instantly, the two sides clashed!
Though Lou Yun’s group was smaller, their weakest member was still at the human level. That wasn’t counting the true powerhouses: Lu Da and his brothers, the four leaders themselves, Eastern Master, and Wen Hou – eight formidable fighters!
Charging into Mo Linsheng’s followers, these eight truly were like tigers among sheep. Anyone they touched fell dead. Within moments, nearly a hundred of the enemy lay defeated!
The remaining fifty-some fighters were also seasoned veterans. Instead of challenging opponents whose aura they couldn’t penetrate, they targeted weaker adversaries, effortlessly cutting them down one by one.
In short, within a very short time, the entire battle became completely one-sided. More than half of Mo Linsheng’s forces lay dead or out of action. Although those left standing were mostly human-level magical weapons masters or higher, they were still no match for Lu Da and the other seven powerhouses!
Lou Yun and Mo Linsheng both clearly saw the situation unfolding. This outcome was excellent for Lou Yun, but it drove Mo Linsheng into a frenzy of rage and despair.
These were men he had painstakingly gathered! Now, they were mere flesh on a chopping block, being slaughtered freely by Lou Yun’s men. How could he endure this?!
Sudden fury gripped him. Mo Linsheng slammed his giant axe upright into the ground! Clenching both fists, he threw his head back and unleashed an earth-shaking bellow. His clothes instantly shredded, tatters flying in all directions, revealing his powerful physique covered in bulging muscles.
Following that came another enraged roar: "Spirit Transformation!"
The axe embedded in the ground suddenly erupted with a dazzling golden radiance! Within the glow, the axe not only doubled in size but grew countless sharp, pointed spikes densely covering its entire surface, morphing it into a colossal, spike-armoured weapon!
Mo Linsheng gripped the massive, transformed spiked axe, hoisted it high above his head with both hands, and then brought it crashing down towards Lou Yun in a devastating arc that traced a golden trail through the air!
