Chapter 338
by fanqienovelChapter 338: Sealing Li Hui
The green light exploded, and auspicious colors shattered as the true spirit transformed into a descending deity.
Li Hui emerged from the mist, and when he looked up, he was startled to see a three-zhang tall blue giant standing beside him, appearing humble and subservient.
“Sir! I am Que San!”
“I see now; you are so tall!”
“Sir, you may not know, but I am very weak. Even with all the virtual spirits gathered, I only reach the Initial Condense Essence Stage. The larger my body, the more scattered my virtual soul and spirit, and my abilities lie in building and managing palaces.”
“Virtual soul and spirit? What astonishing technique is this?” Li Hui was shocked.
Que San said proudly, “When our kingdom’s officials of rank three or above issue a decree, it can create virtual spirits, somewhat similar to the deities born from the wishes of beings in temples. Hence, we are called virtual spirits.”
“Impressive!” Li Hui was in awe. As his perspective broadened, he understood that Dalong had faced years of disasters, and even the divine spirits could not be born. Only the Great Xia Dynasty and nations with abundant fortune could breed deities, starting at the Initial Condense Essence Stage, making it easier to reach the Bosa realm. However, advancing further to the myriad phenomena would be difficult; divine cultivators belonged to a special group in the cultivation world.
Looking around, he saw cold and shadowy buildings, with dark figures darting out from time to time. Que San raised the green light to protect them, causing the shadows to tremble and retreat into the dark corners, disappearing.
Li Hui tested his abilities and found that his Ideal Body and profound qi cultivation were still intact. However, he was completely unencumbered, with only the Deputy Inspector General’s seal ring morphing into a misty circle around his finger; he had nothing else.
“Since the Seal Tower is a must-visit place for disciples during trials, let’s head there first and then go to the Copper Sparrow Terrace.”
“Of course!” Que San strode ahead confidently. Initially, he thought his master would struggle, but when he turned back, he found Li Hui moving as effortlessly as a flowing stream, calm and collected.
“Pick up the pace! I hear voices; someone is coming down.”
“Alright, I can speed up!” Que San floated ahead quickly. Li Hui, lacking the boost from the Heavenly and Earthly Arrays, could not soar but, with his Ideal Body, he surprisingly increased his speed as the surrounding buildings multiplied.
Just as they departed, a dozen shadows descended with a flurry. One remarked, “Be careful; Li Yingjun has gotten two of the fox elders into a terrible mess. According to the energy, he has led the way down ahead of the other disciples, showing considerable skill.”
“Less talk, follow quickly. Since we’ve entered the Ancient City of Yin Ruins, we are already in control.” A voice expressed impatience.
“No, it’s better to be cautious. Inform the Dragon Hua Sect’s pieces to come assist; the Mirror Lake faction has suddenly been extremely lucky!”
“Hahaha, luck is elusive. Big brother is always cautious.” The newcomers waved their hands, quickly preparing to set a trap, as an invisible large net silently began to cover Li Hui.
Even though Que San and Li Hui were moving quickly, the Haotu Sect’s landing point was somewhat far from the Seal Tower. By the time they rushed there breathlessly, they saw flames wildly spreading, with two figures engaged in a fierce battle amidst booming sounds.
A graceful figure floated in the air, angrily exclaiming, “The Sword Control Sect wants to monopolize this place without consulting our Fire Lotus Sect?”
“Hahaha, little beauty, does the Sword Control Sect need to ask anyone for our actions?”
“Que San, is there a back door?” Li Hui asked, holding onto a sliver of hope. Que San was indeed a great ally: “Yes, sir, please follow me.”
They weaved through buildings and finally found a dilapidated wooden door after some time. Que San nodded and said, “This is it; I haven’t been here in hundreds of years, and it leads straight to the heart of the Seal Tower.”
After lighting two incense sticks, Li Hui deeply appreciated the difference that having a guide made. While chaos erupted outside, he moved steadily and easily into the core of the Seal Tower, avoiding countless dangers along the way.
Upon entering the Bagua Hall, he saw more than three hundred stone slabs floating in the air, each etched with unique markings.
Que San explained, “Sir, this is the first hall, specifically for producing beast bone seals. Due to excessive gathering during trials, only a bit more than three hundred have been condensed.”
“How do you collect them?” Li Hui asked, examining them closely.
“Beast bone seals can help cultivators increase their protective abilities, but they take up a spell slot. Multiple seals can be stacked to even reach the level of Dao arts.” Hearing Que San say this, Li Hui felt somewhat lost. For others, it might be beneficial, but for him, it was of no use!
Heaven help him; with his aptitude, he only had one spell slot! Just one! Even the chubby guy and Qiniang had three! Was this a joke?
“Cough! Are the beast taming seals, prisoner dragon seals, and Tomb Seals the same?”
Que San, unaware of Li Hui’s low aptitude, nodded and said, “Pretty much. Beast taming seals enhance your ability to tame beasts; prisoner dragon seals can lockdown enemies and allow you to carry spiritual beasts and demon beasts. The Tomb Seal is exceptional; it allows free movement within a hundred zhang, exempting most spells.”
“Can’t I take them without a spell slot?” This was Li Hui’s main concern; he couldn’t accept them, so giving them to Chef Zhao and Qiniang would be fine.
“This?” Que San pondered for a moment, “I can shrink the law seals into a small bundle for temporary storage, but then I won’t be able to help you fend off the dark ghosts in the ruins; some of them are very fearsome.”
“It’s alright; I’ll give you a great merit.” Li Hui exhaled, finally feeling it wasn’t a wasted effort.
Que San stomped his foot, causing some tiles in the Bagua Hall to lift. Underneath the tiles were more slabs, similarly engraved with beast bone seals.
Outside, the booming intensified as Li Hui hurriedly acted, drawing beast bone seals from Que San and condensing a ball of white light the size of a baby fist.
When he emerged from the Seal Tower, he obtained white, green, purple, and golden orbs, pondering how to use them when suddenly a warning surged within him, and he swiftly sidestepped to the left.
“Bang…” A dark hook surged up from the ground.
In the blink of an eye, hooks surrounded him from all directions. With Li Hui’s cultivation of the unique skill Ideal Body, he became as unsteady as willow catkins caught in the wind.
“Hahaha, quick reflexes, but you still fell into our trap,” the voice chuckled gleefully, but the laughter vanished just as quickly.
They saw Li Hui’s silhouette flicker as light and shadow danced behind him, and with a “pop,” he dropped into the ground and vanished! No matter how many hooks there were, they lost their target in an instant, locking onto nothing but air.
“Where did he go? Why isn’t the lockdown formation responding?” someone in a dark corner shouted furiously.
“So, you were here!” Li Hui had broken free from the seals and raised his hand to unleash the Cloud-Brush Dragon Claw Technique.
Now employing the Cloud-Brush Dragon Claw Technique, the dragon claw expanded to half an acre in size, its power more terrifying than ever, swirling and sweeping countless winds within its reach.
“Boom, boom, boom…” After grabbing ten or more times, Li Hui sensed something was off.
“Fool! Let me show you the great terror of this place.” The opponent had changed positions silently, standing in the shadows with only half of their face revealed, a slight smile curling their lips. “Sealing this bit of true spirit!”
A howling sound erupted as shadows surged from all directions, leaving no way up to the heavens and no door down to the earth, as if the entire ancient city transformed into a swirling darkness…
The range was too vast; even employing the Ideal Body, Li Hui couldn’t escape. He helplessly realized he had been sealed, and the enemy was prepared!
